1	Tyson knows. These people aren't chosen at random, but it's reasonable to say that the larger the pool of candidates in a certain demographic the more likely you are to get a really good one (and the best of the entire pool) out of that demographic. There are a lot of factors into why women aren't proportionally represented, but I don't think we can discount that the amount of women running is one of those factors. 1	Tyson knows. That's assuming every woman candidate would be the most competent. If in a senator election there is 3 woman and 7 men, it is far more likely the most competent senator will be a man.
