Let's also keep in mind that what we today see as a "disorder" is most likely just a naturally evolved behavior. I mean outside of our current society with it's laws and expectations, the ability for a woman to quickly cut all emotional ties with a man(for whatever reason) and be able to jump ship to another protector provider is a huge advantage over women who can't bring themselves to do that.
