Soap and toilet paper accrue the same "luxury tax" the only reason that you're only aware of this as the 'tampon tax' is that society is so gynocentric this isn't even viewed as a problem until it can be framed as something that affects women only

You have misunderstood modern monetary theory. Under the MMT worldview the government funds spending via currency creation, ensures the currency has value via taxation, and the cost is incurred through the subsequent devaluation of extant currency. The group who contributes to the value created is still the net taxpayer. It is not that he is claiming that single mothers are solely to blame for being single mothers. If we believe that men are not to blame for the problem of sparsity of sex, but s…

You're making the classic female mistake of assuming that men care about the same things women do. Being a lawyer makes a man attractive, it doesn't do shit for a woman.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest /u/nailpolishremover2 is expressing a form of modern female anxiety which stems from not being approached or pursued as much as she would like to be. This in my opinion is a direct result of the hostile environment for men that women have created.

I guess because men have to put in all the work of courting. Besides men clearly don't have inflated self evaluation on the scale that women do

Then you should concede that women aswell as men need to moderate their behaviour in order to have a society which allows us all to compete peacefully

Yeah I think you'd lose your shit pretty quickly if we started suggesting women just need to accept that men rape because it's a behaviour which has benefited our species. Which is true by the way, you're falling for the naturalist fallacy that because something is natural it must be good.

Mindfulness meditation is about clearing thought from your mind, about the separation between conscious awareness and the continuous train of thoughts which run through it and noticing the external nature of the latter. You'll see advice to focus on your breathing or the immediate sensations around you as a way to block out thoughts. This post is about people's emotional feelings of inadequacy which is completely unrelated.

Mindfulness meditation is not about how you feel.

Everyone gained in Shipley because there was no UKIP/Green candidate this year... Davies gained 1.4% while labour gained 11.6%. Let's not be spreading propaganda now.

She's on record officially supporting separate due process for women. However as we all know, Hillary flip flops like sunflowers in a light breeze with public opinion, so if feminism's decline continues we can expect Hillary to drop the act, but until that happens I expect an administration that is very hostile to men.

I think it's possible to make custom lists on facebook for people you don't want seeing your posts. Best to look into it. Sorry you have to put up with bigots for now, but I truly believe we're winning this fight. (Y)

Speaking as a britbong here; In the 80's Thatcher wanted to reintroduce the Draft in the UK, and our respective Army & Navy representatives collectively told her to go and stick it. In their professional opinion the state of modern warfare (in the 80's mind you) meant the level of instruction required to bring any new soldier up to speed rendered the draft obsolete. Would a state of total war change that? Maybe, but in any case things would have had to have progressed to the point where it's imp…

Do you live there? I imagine that subset of women is quite a small percentage of the population, is it something you're unlikely to experience? How is Modi on these issues?

With all these stories about India nowadays I'd really like to hear some first-hand accounts of the atmosphere from men who live there.

I do wish he'd stop peddling the myth that there is a rape epidemic to begin with. I also wish he'd stop peddling wage gap myths, very much hoping this is out of political necessity rather than genuine ignorance.

I think this is a false example of a zero-sum game. It assumes that the amount of sex on the table is constant, regardless the state of the male populace. Think about it; if you lived in a world where every woman took extremely good care of herself, wouldn't you be that much more likely to get down? The same goes for girls, if the mean attractiveness of one gender goes up the other gender will obviously raise their standards, but they'll also be generally more up for it.

I'm not going to offer an opinion either way on this particular case; however I'm going to point out it seems we have a lot of Americans in here who are confused over the state of free speech laws in their own country. "The constitutional guarantees of free speech and free press do not permit a state to forbid or proscribe advocacy of the use of force, or of law violation except where such advocacy is directed to inciting imminent lawless action and is likely to incite or produce such action." I…
