Part of this is being young and stupid. Depends on whether you think he'll grow out of it.

That's not that many and you've had it pretty rough. Don't be so hard on yourself.

I'm glad that I graduated high school right as the first non flip phones where coming out. I missed out on issues dealing with sensitive photos

I've been in a similar mind set to where you are, I believe. I wasn't getting much attention at all from the opposite sex, I got bullied in school, started picking my appearance to absolute death. Ended up hating myself for a long while, and when I eventually did end up dating, I was willing to be in emotionally abusive relationships because I felt like I would never get another shot if I broke up with this person because I didn't value myself. I don't want to give you advice outside of my wheel…

He could possibly have low testosterone levels. Guy i work with who is 26 just went to the doctor and found out he has the same T level as an 80 year old man, so now he's being supplemented. Unlikely, I know, but not impossible.

If he's said it's ideal, then I wonder why he's trying to dissuade you. Because everything you've laid out as a plan lines up with that 4ish year plan.

From the small window into your life that you gave, I would hazard to say that you two are in different phases of your lives. If he were also 25, chances are he'd be on board with committing to this area with you while he tries to get his real estate license. He needs to start a family now, you want to start a family eventually, if I'm understanding correctly. Not to say it's all doom and gloom, but one of you will have to make a very large compromise if your relationship is to continue. He'll l…

The chaplain at Parris Island is the only one that left an impression on me, and I have a feeling it's because of the circumstances. Whenever chaps would come around in the fleet and ask for people to pray with, I'd go everytime, but I can't remember any one of them being special. Wish I could have heard from yours.

My parents split right after I was born. My mom ended up losing custody due to drug use when I was 5 or 6, and my dad raised me from then on. My mom got clean when I graduated high school, and we kind of have a relationship. My mother was never around so I was raised soley by an intensely masculine man who, as gently as it can really be said, goes through alot of women even today. I love my dad to death, but sadly he has rarely had a long term relationship and he's rarely ever been single. Went …

That's a pretty significant red flag right out of the gate, dude. Asking you to put clothes back on is a pretty shitty thing to do, obviously.

In the past 5 years I've lived in Hawaii, Florida, and now Virginia and I consider myself blessed to have not seen or experienced what you described anywhere except for movies and Facebook.

That's unfortunate. Take some comfort then in knowing that the whole country is not that way and good luck.

Value yourself and your time. Legitimately. If theyre interested, great, if not, that's their loss and now you have time freed up to pursue other things or people

There's an abundance of single men in America who fit that description so I think you'll do just fine.

Sara Jessica Parker still married Ferris Bueller. Positive attitude goes a long way.

Thats hypocritical of him. Men are visual creatures though. That being said, there's a pretty defined line that he shouldn't cross, i think. Liking their photos seems pretty unnecessary to me.

I got bullied pretty hard in school and had a hard time getting dates. I couldn't change my face, but i did exercise alot more. My body became appealing at around the same time that I had stopped putting so much weight on whether the opposite sex thought I was appealing. Both gave me confidence, and apparently confidence was attractive. I have a friend who is genuinely one of the ugliest people I've ever met, not saying you are because, I dont know what you look like, just speaking about my budd…

Exercise, be healthy, and be happy. Your best inner and outer beauty will come through, then.

Sounds like your journal saved you some trouble down the road. That's insane. Sounds like he was waiting for an excuse to date other women. I'm sure it sucks now, but you'll be happy you moved on from him because he clearly didn't want to commit to you.

This really made me think about the incredible impact that little things I do can have on my daughter. I don't want to say I'm walking on eggshells or anything trying not to screw her up, but it really brings home how I can set her up for success or failure with the traits she ends up looking for in a man.

Your standards are high. Keep 'em high. Value yourself. If someone requires you to lower them in order to have a relationship with you, they're not of the caliber you're after and not worth putting time into.

Well, the act of telling him you're interested will sort of necessitate a follow up sentence, unless you're braver than me and will just let that hang in the air between you two after you say it. Which would put you making the first move. By dignified, I mean not coming off as needy. So, valuing yourself. As in, if he says no, it's disappointing, sure, but not a big deal. You're fine being friends still. Sort of, "Hey, I wanted to let you know that I'm interested in you romantically. I was curio…

I've always found that telling that person directly, in a dignified way, that you are interested in them yields the best results. Waiting for him to pick up hints could lead to valuble time slipping away.

I'm a 27 year old male. I was attracted to my wife's wide hips, toned legs, and her beautiful face. We got together 11 years ago, if that's pertinent to your question.

I have a somewhat similar situation going on. I'm (27m) very organized and I enjoy everything having its place as well as having lots of walking room within my living space. My wife (27f) is a very cluttery person. I work and she runs the house and our 3 kids. She takes care of the 4 of us very well and she's absolutely wonderful. She's not dirty, but our houses have always been destroyed, like someone went through all our belongings looking for something. Every surface has an item sitting on it…

I have no problem with women acting cautious. It's a good survival instinct. Don't lose that.
