Great input! I'm ~25 years younger and still been trying to define that myself, but felt the shadows and machinations of it. Particularly when going through (now) two divorces, but unlike you, in my 20's & 30's when my previous luck turned I was NOT as discerning as I should have been.

The pay gap was always BS too every time I'd dig into the statistics.. It came down to hours worked, years in careers, and choices of specific professions and desired positions. Logically though, we all know that if you could ACTUALLY choose between two equally qualified people, but pay one LESS because they don't have a dick--we'd be fighting for the last few occupations they still hire men at because women generally don't want.

I liked your take on this. The OP comes off as either too inexperienced or blackpilled to get to the honesty of the topic.

I think you just accidentally helped me answer something I've been struggling with for a long time. In fact, the next tab over was a comment earlier on the divorce sub, here's a snippet: "It may be a buzzword too, but a big part of 'why' our experiences abound in similarities (beyond the specific extreme events stuff reached) is because we both married very narcissistic, entitled, ungrateful / self obsessed, vain and insecure, emotionally stunted women. They are only looking out for themselves a…

This is really well said about something that is so obvious and so hard to describe to people. Start to finish this was great, but you had some super heavy lines too: "Your inner world becomes raw material for her victimhood narrative. You are never witnessed—only harvested."

This ^ the risk is real, like washing your hands with antibacterial soap earnestly does make your hands cleaner, there is risk of spreading germs if not... But if this is about OCD then the focus needs to be more on healthy coping and not 'washing your hands endlessly' due to the risk as if the compulsion could help the obsession.

Yes, but it isn't certain. I WAS falsely arrested when a partner was the violent one and I kept walking away, not even blocking her. After three instances that night I separated myself and hours later the cops came. They never bothered getting a statement from me, only her. Straight to county jail for minimum 48 hours, but that was a Sunday, so was lucky to get bonded out the next week. Eventually I was lucky enough to get acquitted. Next time I started a family with a woman I raised her daughte…

I don't believe that has anything to do with their own negative judgement on their actions ANY more than the men. The difference in what you mentioned is because the man knows his display of the behavior can and likely will gain consequences, often immediately and at the loss of his health and freedom. That's not 'why' guys DON'T hit women, most guys never would, but it is why the guys who do don't like to do it publically. There are consequences. The thing that makes some abusive women flaunt i…

I think the delineation here should have been not that the abuser doesn't see themselves as one, but that the legal system and society/social justice frequently don't.

Why do we all describe that feeling like that? I remember being like 18 through to nearly middle aged and I describe that as when things are going weirdly well it causes me anxiety from the past because I'm waiting for the other 'shoe to drop'.

"Because being similar is what we are attracted to as humans, where we feel understood and safe, where we think we know what others want and think. For friends, romantic partners and many more." Great comment all the way through. I am (erroneously) trying to apply these general ideas to my own arbitrary experience... as someone not neurotypical and only slowly figuring it all out in my mid 30's to early early 40s. That said, having been married and made my son with an undocumented immigrant with…

It isn't that complicated or cause and effect related to individual men and improving themselves when you are talking about ALL men moving up or down in appeal.. The average man is unattractive, because the average woman wants something better than 'average', and they specifically want a guy that other men want to be or would accept / respect and they specifically want the guy greater than an average amount of other women want to have. On some level it has as much to do with "what other women ha…

Great reply! I'm often most starkly reminded of the fact that there are no men's shelters or programs for domestic violence. I 'get it', but it also is shitty that victims who are men not only have the laws specifically gendered, but the first woman who opened resources for men was harassed by feminists until if I remember she eventually shut it down and killed herself. She WAS a very influential first or second wave feminist herself. I'd need to read the story again to even quote the summary wi…

I disagree, it's related to that 'sometimes'.. but really is that some guys get to the point of trying to be emotional or reaching out during domestic violence, cheating, false arrest, or just a shitty relationship or even mental health problems--and there isn't any help or support. Everything is designed for one gender only in most those regards. Often reaching out or being vulnerable is a point men realize and feel they are alone. It can make you not feel human or like your value has any worth…

Unfortunately, 'weakness' is a sin for a man to have, both to women and our society in whole. Being viewed as ever being emotional, hurt by anything, homeless, or especially killing yourself is seen as 'weakness'. Men that are viewed as that kind of 'weak' (not the right word, but) human, not providing enough to those around them and society, being a man who isn't stoic and focused mostly on everyone else over themselves.. They don't have much value to society or a lot of women on an emotional, …

I feel you on this one. Honestly, while the 'label' may be a bit much, I personally think I still have some more codependent traits that pull on me when I've been in bad LTR's (like when they turn and I should have left, but didn't immediately). I've known for decades that you have to be happy and have a full life and not be lonely WHILE ALONE to really be the other half of a healthy relationship, but I've still never been able to truly practice finding happiness and contentment and not feeling …

I really hope your maintenance guy recovers great and that speaks volumes about you that you knew what was going on and have been keeping him in your thoughts. I had an aneurysm and bicuspid valve needing fixing, there are a lot of OHS reasons, but I felt like it was a lot easier for me than most people in the SICU there. I was the youngest by a few decades and that seemed to be the biggest factor. It sounded like hell in there for so many, they couldn't take the pain. I have always had chronic …

Thank you! It really was a big deal. Luckily I'm young enough that my body really recovered quickly. By about 6 months I should have been mostly 'healed' like structurally and everything, but obviously it does change things permanently in some ways. I definitely feel you on all that! Was born with some mutations some joint degenerative and some that made me moderately disabled younger and required open heart surgery this year. Unrelated, but man I just thought about how I generally operated when younger with my car... I use to be really careful letting my friends pile in MY car when we smoked weed and stuff as a teen--because some were shady selfish pricks and would often have whatever drugs on them. That's always scared me as a man. I have always had medical conditions that made it so I'm really not good at distance running (and since I don't practice, I'm not great at sprinting either). I've lived my whole live KNOWING I cannot run away from a fight... For SURE! That reason for my relationships was always one half the most real reason I regularly went the therapy. The other half of it was 'for me' in that it made me not feel as lonely as dealing with everything inside myself and not talking to anyone about it.

Also as a man that also can be completely oblivious to some emotions... like you spend years not being overtly emotional and get to a point that you have to practice mindfulness just to know how you feel. Well that plays into it, but in failed relationships once the ship was going down I'd been ignoring my own feelings so long, focused on my family members, that it honestly really helped to just talk about things with a therapist. It made me take time to look inward in the way I'd been raised to…

The thing is though, it's never a harmful suggestion. I don't think we are likely to lose anything except the time and money spent, which CAN be a huge deal for many, but generally it is either going to help or do nothing.

Big time yes! Super important on so many levels for young men / boys to improve themselves, their esteem, work towards a goal, see what they can accomplish, and OF COURSE if men are offering those programs they are likely really good guys that could be the perfect type of outside the home mentors who drastically can change a young man's internal and external trajectory in life. Not cruel at all. Picking better is always the first thing I can point at to blame myself at the end of relationships like those, but over time I get more into the why's of if they're more attracted to me, me to them, if I have a bad filter, or if I settle, etc... In any event it's me picking poorly and really letting relationships go from something rewarding to sometimes even toxic by the end before I realize it fully or I guess leave them when I should. Mine have all been backwards then, but I can tell you why and simply: In general my partners have been way more emotionally labile and up and down, and when things aren't perfect, it's an emergency! We end up focusing on their issues, mine get swept away. Their feelings become the thing that matter more than mine... and they do, unfortunately, because even married it's like they've always got one foot out the door. Depends on the specific metric. I remember a Harvard study a couple years ago that when they first posted had sections comparing 'unreciprocated domestic violence' among genders and unless it was a different study also relationships. The majority of one sided DV (iirc nearly 75%) was indeed committed by women, men did less. Gender to gender being the victim of DV was nearly 50/50, BUT the rates of SERIOUS injuries were way worse with male aggressor and female victims as we'd assume. Lesbian coup…

I'm a 190lb 6ft guy and when my pretty small exwife was putting hands on me and trying to hurt me-- the reason I never considered hitting her back or manhandling her was not because I'd get in trouble. It never crossed my mind in that regard. I just don't like to hurt people and especially didn't want to hurt someone I had a child with. The thought of police and future lies WAS why I didn't block her hitting me or hold her wrist or arms and just let her go off while I walked off three times that…

I think that's a good skeptics type reply and appreciate your reasoning and comment. I don't believe they were factors in this, but almost the only reasonable explanation 'would' be if they believed the person on the left was the 15 year old daughter...but as you said (and for me it was the same) we couldn't tell the person on the left was a young female. Also the whole naked guy verse hoodie thing seems insurmountable a reasoning gap to get there.

I think both we and she would be remiss if any of us expected the FIRST woman president to abandon woman's issues via prioritizing mens rights... It really is different in person, even if it's the same woman you failed to match on an app. That said I agree with others that mentioned not every unaccompanied woman is single or is looking for a LTR or hookup. So it depends on the guy's personality most.. Do they CARE that they might be approaching a boundary of a married woman, someone in a LTR, or someone who explicitly doesn't want a relationship? I don't think the think-speak really works on the average person at all either way. I think it just silences them from the discussion or official debate (when it takes over upper education and the laws and law makers). But it still moves on that pendulum because the average person sees what happens to our brothers and sisters, to both parents, to ourselves.. We live the world. Nah, they baked this stuff into their ideology. They even have official names for this type of thing that escapes me atm, but basically the way it works is this: There cannot be sexism against men, because it requires systemic oppression and men aren't systemically oppressed (like women, to them)! ThereFORE, they can make laws that systemically oppress men, and point to every instance proclaiming that it is not oppression because men are not systemically oppressed (though now we are in some spec…

I disagree personally. I think all the characters have flaws and past trauma that gets a spotlight shined on them individually at different points. Even Starlight who is kind of the only woman I could remotely agree with has a large focus on her entire life prior to then being fucked up to her (and it's unlikely a NOT emotionally damaged Starlight would have fallen for someone as broken, himself). You feel like Gen V should be lumped in there? Can I ask why? I recognize the main characters are mostly female or trans / both, but that example really didn't bother me or seem to be 'anti male' just had some cool female leads, which when done right I have no antagonism to. A few different angles, but to this context there have been studies about online dating statistics you can look up. I don't think it's crazy to be aware of how indirect and conniving women can be and acting appropriately. Same with not fully trusting people for years. I mean all this stuff is a balance where a person can go too far or too little. It honestly sounds like all these years later you're only finally starting to be able to open up and trust again and let people in, but you're trying to do it aware of the things you learned when you were 17. Maybe it's okay we don't unlearn that, but (my stuff was 7…

That's good. I was gonna say start with friends and opening up that way, eventually make your own 'family' type support system. Because it would be really hard even to get over how your family reacted and what was made undone on the lies of someone who wanted to hurt you. I went to county (but only a few days) for false DV once, by the person actually being violent of course... even after I was acquitted it still bothered me (and does lesser, these years later). Between dealing with her in the r…

I get it man. I've been commenting 'our' side of this too. Point is this is a diverse place of perspectives and personalities. Lot of guys come here during false allegations and arrest, abuse uninterrupted, loss of career or school, etc.. There are a lot of MGTOW / incel types here too, but I have a feeling a lot of guys head to the manosphere from traumatic or troubling events that might temporarily or farther influence their perspectives of women and male issues. I had to fight that myself a l…

Denying you a picture of her kid doesn't infer she was trying to be mean or believes you or all men are perverts. She can just NOT want a picture with her child and random bar goers that don't ask for permission. It seems like rationally something with no good purpose could lead to good reasons she could logically disallow lap photos with men-- since perverts of any gender do exist. See all men don't have to be perverts in order to not desire random men with no relationship to your child to have…

Agreed. I will say that some (maybe most of the 'normal' people I've talked to) that say they are feminists also really are more like WRA's... So there are some in the group even though I feel like the real WRA's and MRA's are both more focused on the same equality than feminism or inceldom. While most MRA's are not incels, MGTOW is definitely part of the umbrella we share. So there are some in the group, but men going their own way would be a hard group to formally create or join when going you…

I think that feminism is an inclusionary grouping and incels are an exclusionary one. They are grouped as that more from checking out of society than for forming a coherent group inside of it. I've heard of "feminists" using hate language or calling for killing men and seen stories of crazy women that were self proclaimed feminists abusing and even killing their children.... But I think that is more representative of crazy 'people' than the doctrine or a group of feminism. That said--there have …

I think the 'just be yourself' is better advice than you think here, because relationships (even one night stands) aren't a Do X and Get Y equation. It can be useful to read redpill type stuff if you're focusing on improving yourself and focusing on your life and dreams and building yourself into who you want! But whether or not you're doing that, "being yourself" and just putting yourself out there when opportunities really present themselves is the way. Being yourself and viewing women as just…

Honestly, I'm with you 100, but DV still exists in the sense that cases aren't ALWAYS false.. Even lawyers and judges in states without the law overwhelmingly usually work off the assumption the default in each case starts at 50/50.. Like in Alabama 6 years ago there was no law towards it, but both lawyers knew that the judge was almost assuredly only going to accept 50/50. It's a crime that they choose not to prosecute out of fear of the narrative that 4 out of 5 women are assaulted and that 99% are never reported out of fear of being believed or ridiculed... Honestly it depends on the woman, but I think that it may have to do more with the relationship usually. In the two I've had this issue it's only been where / when my partner lends too much to 'me' bringing them security or responsibility over their emotions. When they 'make you their world' or leverage you a little more than healthy as being in control or blame for how they feel--codependent traits, which are common--then this seems to occur regardless of age or hypotheticals.

I used to feel the same way you do then I met people in arraigned marriages. The real reason they work is that the husband and wife both know their duties to one another and treat it as their primary job to make sure what their partner wants in them they get. I'm so sorry! That is indeed the shittiest of weeks! I think that might have been too soon to push yourself so hard. Is it possible that the boss knew that empathetically if he went through the same, he'd need a little more time off or less responsibilities?

I truly believe and hope that he was honestly and earnestly respecting you as a person and valued employee. I'm really sorry about your hard week and the response of your boss. Hopefully he was actually being sexist in a way and simply recognizing how stressed you were, IE your feelings possibly mattered MORE to him and he may have been trying to support and better your future performance by giving you a break when he thought you needed it (since as a man, he likely wouldn't be crying publically at work unless he himself were in a REALLY bad way that is hard to function). You're right about truly good friends. As a man, whether they are women or men I definitely can open up and express my emotions. Still I find myself experiencing the focus of the thread from time to time, specifically when expressing emotions during trying events / times with an SO. This has so much truth packed subtly into it that is easily missed out on. Specifically you are right about women's feelings driving them and the relationship a bit too much spontaneously for 'feelings' that change quick and extreme, treated as concrete and never changing. Part of it IS about women addressing their feelings too quickly, as if it's objective, and as though they are permanent... And whatever the cause, even if men emotionally expressive being punished is the impetus or result-- me…

It's relatable. I did the same after my son's brain surgery at 2 until she didn't just hit me unreciprocated but also she called and lied to cops to have me falsely arrested. I think a lot of women and even more men do this needing a clear external reason it isn't us giving up the family or relationship

Ah yus but that fun fact does make hellish sense, We share a Satan and they ALWAYS know when we've been talking about them again! (My family and close friends were long before me thinking she was dangerous too, but they all thought she was poisoning me at the time rather than future knifing me)

You are 100% right about most things like working longer or stuff with coworker. It's solely related to things that 'get to me' which would be more health, finances, son. But to me it isn't because of the topic, but just because 'it got to me.' The reason doesn't ever seem to be because she is insecure regarding my commitment or love to her either. She does a great job at getting better at this, probably better than me at things I try to work on. It's less about 'the context' and more about 'wha…

Your actual friends that are feminists are surely great people and I am truly glad they understood and supported you. That is extremely valuable, but people like them are NOT representative of "feminism" today because they don't reflect the feminists in power and lobbying those in power, nor the feminist doctrines systemically applied in the west. "Feminism" is explicitly how and why the laws, courts, and society are setup in a way men cannot be victims of abuse such as Depp's case was handled. …

I agree and wish they would do better research on it. But it's hard to define 'who leaves who" when in a relationship I think, since everything is multifaceted. Like I left my ex-wife, but it was because she was always threatening to leave and being abusive / dangerous to try to hurt me legally, physically, etc.. It's hard not to say that "her actions" ended the marriage when technically mine did. Even in healthier breakups if one person is checking out emotionally or physically the other party …

Actually, the best research on this shows that it literally varies depending on her cycle. The ONLY reason I as a man get that treatment or notice that trend with women I've dated since being a single father... is likely 'because' single mothers have a partially true and not true stereotype. It seemed so clear to me! LMFAO. It wasn't until that one man I say became a mentor (I think he would too, I just feel…

Jesus dude! You really are a great therapist, especially on this stuff! You're 100% correct! I wish I could have learned it from an article and not from being "zeroed out" (AT LEAST 2 TIMES, arguably 3... but 18 year old me didn't have as much to lose when losing everything and my freedom then fighting back up.. so not quite 3). The issue for guys like me... I am a bit of an introvert, but that's a pointless indicator once adults ('any' social stuff NOT small, one-on-one, or one woman, or my son-- drains me..), but as a busy man I've only got a few nights a week that others' can work to fit (and I'm not against compromise- but it's …

Thanks for your perspective. I actually agree, I spent at least a decade with 'bound' feelings.. not in touch at all with 'how' I felt and seemingly 'not allowing' or accepting or letting myself feel,'break' (by losing control of my emotions: crying, angry, etc..) or even USE my emotions as the empowerment / guiding force they can now be. I forget his phrase, but the book that helped me tremendously to get more in touch with myself, stronger, more whole and 'easier' to prioritize myself and my f…

Honestly dude... I'm 34 and a "functional adult," but to be frank, your OP was much better that what most of us can write at any age. You wrote it really well too, it was clear and concise to tell your story: challenge, responses, goals, lessons. And shit, I'm not a complete dumbass, but I would have never guessed your age (without you telling us- I would have assumed you are writing about this from your 20's after college or something) I'm positive I didn't even know what a scapula was at 17. The scary part isn't that, but two parts: 1) the one I married was actually able to hide all that shit and trick me completely (seemed really healthy/normal, we had a great relationship) until we moved in together after over two years! [Jeeze guys, sorry this got so long, vomited all over the keyboard so much it was two comments, guess it'd been a while since I talked about this] That's what caught me into a really fucked 5+ year relationship with a BPD exwife. I'm all for grabbing pitchforks as the next townsfolk- but yea, I like to look first. Good catch? At least from what I saw this doesn't look super clear for a trial. I imagine that if the prosecution had a better case, man or woman, they would likely have done more time. (Albeit is possible a man statistically might do more). It is just so hard to do a direct one to one comparison in trials / criminals outcomes.

Jesus.. I don't know how you and other men in that position makes it work. I pay under 500 a month for one child that I have half the time, but in my state they did me as around 100k a year and her at the state mandatory minimum default income.. I agree, but most of them aren't supporting those organizations.. least those I'm talking about don't that I know of. It may be that I only talk about it with a certain kind of woman, or where I'm from.. But most the women I've talked to that say they are 'feminists' have strictly meant they believe in equality, like the 'real kind' usually not really any different than I do. In relationships with some we had good communication and they still liked more traditional stuff in some ways, but typically really were stalwarts about being as 'feminist' (equality) for men as women. Equal access / custody doesn't solve it. My son barely gets fed with his legally mandated 50% custody at his mom's, even with my child support. The disparity in wealth would mean that one home (in some instances) couldn't support the child during their custody... While you (and maybe I) might say fine, then if you can't afford to take care the child, you can't have that custody! But that is kind of the same problem we have now in reverse and I disagree with it. I honestly, as someone paying chil…

You also may not know that the state gets a commission from the Feds for child support arrears that are collected thus giving the state a perverse incentive to ‘create’ arrears. How does that happen? I was just given a number (pretty small really considering she didn't work and I do okay.. but I have 50% custody).. I don't get it? Didn't the show mostly just have men fighting (when losing) the battles and burning and dying? Is that what she is complaining about because she wants to see more women warriors and women getting gutted and innocent women burning to death on TV like men? I think that it's more of a, 'I like kids enough and teaching is something, maybe I'll be a teacher'- thing for women. It just is extremely more common. I think with the male teachers we are getting men that might statistically have a higher drive to be teachers. Whether feminism or MRA logic it would make sense. I think the real kernel of truth in 'their' (at least some) complaints with the prostitutes.... was that the game had prostitutes and strippers at all. The complaint is against a good 'simulation' game objectifying women while giving the male player control to do some pretty intimate or possibly gruesome things. I didn't feel that way in Firefly.. It was pretty damn egalitarian. It wasn't about 'good/bad' so much as the emotional and physical 'gender roles' shifting. What I liked about the show is I hate that kind of shit when forced, but the character of Mal's second, the pilot's wife, she just 'was' emotionally and physically stronger than her husband. When women try and kill themselves it's usually a cry for attention, like they didn't get the pair of shoes they wanted or something else inane. They also don't know what they are doing most of the time and choose methods that have lower "success" rates. I think there is a reason, likely many, but that ain't one. I seriously doubt a sane woman would go through this shit for 9 months willingly just to "control" a man. No. But many women with fragile identities will purposefully trick their partner because they want 'to be' a mommy. I feel like my ex wanted to be a mom more than she wanted a child. I agree with you, the differentiator is 'asshole' more than gender. But some sane girls do have an extreme drive to be a mom and feel their 'clock' ticking away. A lot of sane people do crazy things everyday.

You have very black verse white thinking. That isn't how the world actually is. I couldn't find it-- but it looks like her opinions on this topic run deep and were mostly pruned during her 'real' time as judge, prior to the TV show. Really cool man! I never knew she was so insightful and passionate about this. http://dadsdivorce.com/articles/judge-judy-on-child-custody/

To add to /u/EricAllonde great response.. I don't have the source, but have read specific ages that women when judged against men in many 'professional' and technical fields make MORE than their male counterparts in the United States. It's the women that choose to go into fields less profitable and work less hours / days that throw the stats off. I should find that source... I'll look for it and edit post. Not a great source, but I've seen UK and US studies parroting this same finding both place…

Well man, I know- how alone you can feel in this. I let myself feel alone and unsupported too. I'm earlier in my process, but it was my own version of Mr. Bones Wild Ride. The last 6 months I've been evicted from my home, son's life, pets, and possessions... and the catalyst was years of an abusive marriage that had finally gotten violent enough for bleeding and bruising- and even though I didn't even hold a hand up to stop her, being arrested and prosecuted for domestic violence (she called the…

How does the two days a week and every other weekend work? That sounds a lot like what I got worked out and I'm pretty happy about it, it makes it completely 50/50 custody.. Like every week one parent gets them Monday 3pm to Wednesday 3pm. The other parent Wednesday 3pm to Friday 3pm. And alternating weekends... I'm not entirely fluent in legal-speak. I assumed there would be comments pointing out the sensationalism in our thread title as yours. I appreciate your opinion and sourcing the actual text, but while they didn't change the actual rape offense, I thought it mandated a different sort of 'crime' anytime a man (regardless of inebriation) even had consensual sex with a woman (with a level of inebriation) and that while it wasn't entirely a 'rape' charge, it had mandatory probation. Since you are sa…

I don't even think it is that simple. If the man has bruises and is bleeding and the woman has NONE (was literally never touched) the man can absolutely still go to jail. Even in the deepest south U.S.. Just takes the perpetrator calling the police, or the male victim calling, and the woman perp saying 'he hit me' or 'I'm scared'. That dynamic doesn't work like that.. You see, if a man is bad it proves all men are bad and stupid and poor parents. At best, this divorce and Jolie's behavior will NOT counteract the women are wonderful effect-- at best she can 'prove' that she, individually, is not wonderful.

It looks like it 'just' showed up on someone's facebook a year ago. But yea, sounds like a pretty ignorant perspective. 'Bad' women like that are the ones who get most hurt I think. The stats paint a narrative of one sided female to male violence occurring much more numerous-- from those 'gangsta thug bad bitches'.. but a man who literally cannot turn to any services and the police are as likely to arrest as the perpetrator, only has so many options in some scenarios (marriage / kids / etc.. can…

This was a really really great article. I agree with you, but disagree that it is about the fetishization of femdom. For sure all of the far left rhetoric and safe spaces and sexist laws to protect and treat woman as a protected class DO all come explicitly and only when supported, enabled, put in place, and held in place BY men.. by 'the patriarchy' in their verbiage. In this case, based on his statement, the police officers initial response of the alleged crime was influenced by gender bias, and the male victim was not given proper investigative procedures and his female abuser is getting away with domestic violence. A campaign aimed at stopping women hitting men might have a very good impact - as you only need to convince them to do the bare minimum expected of a human being in civilised society - not initiate violence. I think it would be a great idea, as female violence against men is a very common predecessor of violence against women (something we can all agree is a bad thing). Well fucking said!

Therefore, any place where men earn less than women indicates a serious problem." I have been through a meat-grinder of MRA issues personally affecting my life now and even costing me …

Having said that, it's probably good advice for all genders and all countries to not have your partner hit you. Haha. Yea, I fucked up there, wish I'd known better, but now I do! ;P (I had mixed experience on it in the U.S. south. Wife was the only one violent, I was visibly injured and bleeding and separated myself from her 3 times without defending myself... the last time she came and found me she threatened to call the cops. I don't know what it is about me or about 'me' with an 'n'. It's like I can't feel bad 'for me', not that unlike how society cannot feel bad for 'men'. I did lay some of my woes out, but in general I feel pretty damn blessed. I couldn't be really any happier about how things worked out. I was acquitted. I have shelter, food, etc.. and I've been somehow arranging good unofficial custody with my wife (she's trying her damndest to pull me back in and reconcile). In truth though, I'm pretty fucking …

Sure. But I think that it is you putting the 'moral reasonings' on it and not even due to other commenters points on CS not being controlled to spend on the kid. The moral reasoning about "if the kid considers you its father" is void... because this guy WANTS to see his kid, but he cannot even fight for custody, they say nope, you aren't the dad. The real dad that doesn't pay shit, gets custody claim. The dad that is stuck with the CS bills gets a tiny visitation that his wife has been refusing …

The first problem is that men don't even realize they were assaulted because they aren't taught to think women can rape. I think they aren't just not taught I think they are taught the exact opposite and that the laws are literally written in a way to near completely negate the possibility in whole.

Uhhhmmm... What?! More men should report? Sure, I get that. But the problem isn't the 'victims' to fix in this case. Hear me out. A couple days over a month ago my wife kept starting crazy confrontations, then slammed a door into me and I stood there not defending myself while she could walk from my front to my back shoving, pulling, squeezing, and scratching me. I definitely agree, I'm actually not very familiar at all with the MGTOW subreddit though if you're basing it on that. To me (and I'll point out it was a misplaced generalization and bias that I more and more have grown from) I viewed MGTOW as on the same road as TRP, but having stopped along the side and never continued on what the journey had to offer. I used to feel like it was shortsighted and misplaced to determine that you don't want women to manipulate or take over your life any more... b…

I wonder if it's true, or if it's true if really they aren't just more vocal... but honestly I've thought that lawyers may be 'closer to the issue' and see more past the torn veil. My observations here and IRL are arbitrary, but I just went through an assault and false charges, about to move forward in more services with the lawyer I hired.. but my attorney, my therapist, and my pastor each understood the situation better and faster than I could explain it. True, but appeals cost money. It can be quite expensive to fund going to higher and higher levels (plus you can run out of levels to appeal to). Appeals are also facing a stiffer obstacle than the first trial. Not only can it be difficult to get new evidence admissible, but judges have a default of upholding others' determinations. Now, I obviously don't know ANYTHING about this guy's situation, but I do know that it cost me 15k to appeal a bogus jail term. My lawyer clearly showed where and how…

Well.. it IS already illegal to purchase (or possess) a gun if you are a under 18 for long guns and 21 for handguns. It is also illegal to purchase (or possess) a gun if you are mentally ill. Neither subset can purchase a gun through a dealer or by legal means through private sellers. If you are saying that sarcastically because 'they could just get them illegally', then you're right. The problem with your 'argument' is that you are qualifying your BS as true when as a statement that is literally already illegal in two ways. 1) Mentally ill individuals already cannot legally purchase firearms at all. That's literally one of the questions, there are multiple lines that ask about mental illness, psychological medicines, and/or treatment or hospitalization. While (as stated) morally I don't agree with abortion-- the point of my original post is exactly what you describe. I agree, that is EXACTLY how I believe it should legally and in reality be. My point was that if men cannot 'opt in' as women can (and they can't-- and that it would be ridiculous to let them unilaterally) then just as women can 'opt out' unilaterally, men should be able to as well. The alternative would be to let men opt in as women can opt in unilaterally. So my point was 'why' I think men should be able to opt out of fatherhood. That's true, but there is (to me) a third life involved in this picture. Ignoring that third and equally important life (and in either event we'll pretend pregnancy is as 'life threatening' as you were), then I feel like EITHER the man should have as much say as the woman about abortion to declare that the (in that OP's case UNINFORMED) man will BE a father at least 18 years... as the man has a say of the woman being a mother for 10 months (which as much as I value that third life, that's kind o…

I think they actually 'use' most the penis in those surgeries, like they mutilate it and flip it inside out, cut off pieces, use others.. I've never looked into it though, just how I imagined they probably must.

To not be ignorant and accidentally get entangled with crazy- to cull the unhealthy chicks.. as far as I can tell the best we can do is break our own ignorances and get ourselves as 'healthy' as possible. Crazy, needy, messy men seem to be catnip for those kind of women. It's easy to miss the red flags that are there, when there is any iota of unhealthy (mental health, or ideal of emotional attachment, or desire for external sources over internal for acceptance, value, love, validation..). I don't see your point at all honestly. We live in a nation (if you're in the U.S.) with decreasing and low rape or murder of women by men. Where 'male privilege' and 'rape culture' means men are held to a higher standard and -everything- is rape and none of it is condoned or not defended by bystanders or courts... The speaker in the text is saying ALL women are so oppressed they are afraid to even speak or do anything except 'body language' and poor them we can't hear or understand their body l…

People here absolutely won't 'mind' your presence (we adore such things, so much so that many thought you were someone trolling us). You are MORE than welcome here. Ignore the radical extremes if they arise, they are the minority. Still though, I think you underrate simply seeing the problem. Honestly that is the problem in whole. The opening of eyes is without doubt the most significant, second to that and only to that, is the opening of our mouths.

You're right and I really don't think this thing a fake at all. I donated before it ever hit MRA. I stumbled on the IMGUR post. I don't open my wallet often and I hope I wasn't deceived, but I DO understand the position the guy in this narrative was in. Not quite personally, or to that extent, but I do just the same.

If there is this perception that the MRM is just a bunch of entitled cis men out to hate on feminists and trying to put us back in the kitchen (this is what I have heard), how are we suppose to change this image? By doing exactly what you are- by opening your eyes to it. I'm an MRA, but by many people's misguided definitions I would be a 'feminist', just not the feminism of today, what it has become.
/r/MensRights02/05/16 01:12 AM

This is the rub. Feminism, as most people say they are- doesn't mean what it means today and they actually mean something different. This woman was a REAL feminist. Someone who desired EQUALITY, different but equal- between men and women. Today, as far as I can tell, that would be called a men's right activist in truth. The feminism of today has no place for men except in the negative. It isn't about equality, it's about lowering men and putting women on an even higher pedestal.

She fled before police arrived though... for a reason- THEN, as I learned from the real OP's further posts (purportedly) the woman had a collaboration at her work where people threw in money for her to hire a lawyer and she filed for emergency custody (I don't know legal names) of the daughter. One would hope the father can (and should) beat it and halt it, but it was an order to return the daughter to the mother before Monday. He didn't have a lawyer at that time. The friend was a 5 foot 3 inch girl, the victim wasn't fighting back, and the assailant was a trained MMA fighter who bit 'the friend' when she tried pulling her off, so she locked herself in the bathroom to call 911, while in there the MMA woman beat the shit out of the door to get to her, then ran away before the cops came. So that friend DEFINITELY was what made that bitch run away- she was MUCH more scared of the police than the man who wouldn't fight back or the tiny girl who couldn't stop …

That. THAT is exactly it. WE, us men, are why women are valued 'just for existing'. That is absolutely it, point blank. We do that for them. We give them value for existing. It isn't some feminist machination, it's literally the symptom of the cause neo-feminism fights: the patriarchy. To us, a man is what he can do, what value he offers society, but a woman adds value because of who/what she is. Many people live in a world where feelings are fact and paint reality- while simultaneously or through that process attempt to require others to be responsible for their feelings. You're free to that opinion and conclusion. I believe it a little presumptuous to the way I personally read it. The only problem I have with that is who is justifying 'their' emotions? You, me? You may be a great judge of others, but not everyone else is. Emotions don't need to be justified or judged. They need to be accepted (by that person) and let pass. Outward actions / behavior for sure needs to have consequences (which are a form of 'judgement'). For me I think it was potassium when I was working in a styrofoam hole on the beach doing construction. At night my legs would feel like charley horses when relaxed. I started eating more bananas and it wouldn't happen those days. I'm just legitimately interested, I don't know much about this stuff. Seems like a lot of deficiencies can cause this.

If it became an Olympic sport and if men and women competed on the same teams... there would be almost NO female players, it would be near impossible to make the cut as a female. That's why segregated sports are best for them. (non segregated is obviously great for us)

He isn't talking about 'escalation' and getting emotional. He's saying skip all the bullshit, don't pass her test- don't even care.. That when she is being a bitch and testing his frame he doesn't like to waste time. He warns her he isn't playing, then he reminds her he's in charge and she falls in line. I don't advocate hitting women, but if he does this completely without emotion or stepping out of his frame I fail to see how he has.

Sorry I kept editing it while you were responding. I really don't consider 'feminist' a dirty word or a cutdown on any individual or personal level. I don't think most feminists are on-board with what (admittedly) I imagine most leaders are. I don't think feminists are bad, but the movement itself and the headlines (the extremes) and much of the results are very much 'negative' to me. I just think feminist is too broad. Every woman has a part of her that says 'yea, I'm a feminist because I care …

I just think "men's rights" sounds like a group mostly concerned with men's rights... while feminist (in its current 'wave' or at least as generally discussed) typically is about women's rights.. Neither are a bastion of 'equality', but rather two sides of a scale and what I hope the silent majority of both are working towards is balancing it, because typically when they take from one side they give to the other. Feminist is a dirty word to me, but not because 'we' use it. We use it because ther…

They could.. they also let the DEA use their system to try to incriminate people on drug charges (then lie about it in court and do a kind of 'backwards' investigation to make it look like it was 'police work' and not the super secret spying program lead that got them in the right place and right time). The reason it will never be used to stop suicides and will be used to arrest drug users-- attempted suicide isn't a crime. Actual suicide kind of is, but the perp is dead. How the hell do you exp…

I think that is more due to the nature of the events. Murder is loud and often relatively 'public'. I don't believe in 'rape culture', at all, but rapes obviously do occur to both men and women. In both instances though, it typically occurs in private, relatively quiet, and in secret. The murderers themselves rarely video their own crime. With rape being more selective in who is typically present, why would you expect many rapists to record their crime? The facts: Rape culture isn't real, BUT ra…

There is a difference. Is it selfish to put your oxygen on first before helping others in a plane? I call it being selflessly selfish. It is pragmatic. We feed ourselves so we are stronger. We fill our needs and have integrity for us... But honestly in the end we are of more use and strength and health for those in our lives. It isn't selfish by default to be a leader and we must start by leading our own lives.

You aren't wrong in your math, but it CAN be a surprise. I believe this is the case not because of what you said (all you said was right), but because of a separate element. That representation of reality is what we see, women usually see this as well.. but we'd be lying if we didn't understand sometimes they live in what I'd deem an unreality. TRP living, at its core is NOT about hate (or even women) at all.. rather self-acceptance, self-growth, self-responsibility.. at least to me it is not at all about hating or disrespecting women in an unhealthy way, but instead valuing and respecting yourself in a healthy way. There is no high road with her, she is a barbarian horde already inside your gates wandering around in all the sensitive areas. Literally all the things in your OP amaze me because you are so cognizant, you recognize when there is something irrational, you give credit to him and blame to yourself where due, you consider and value his opinions and feelings, you even understand your body and his insecurities. Seriously, I know you wrote the OP and stuff thinking you are out of control or messing things up- but I see someone trying the right things in the right ways for t…
