My medical history is completely irrelevant to me wishing I wasn't asexual.

I'm too sick to move away from my family. Please don't frame this a me failing to "put in the work."
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/25 10:00 PM

Right. But I've been a member of asexual forums and specific dating sites, I had it listed on my dating profiles, etc. and never got contact from a local asexual man (and I'm not sure I'm willing to relocate or try a LDR at this point). But maybe I'm missing some key part of the puzzle here, I dunno.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/25 09:56 PM

Kind of. I don't think about doing it often. Maybe once every two months or something.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/25 09:47 PM

that would be nice if I lived in a metro area or something. if there are any around here, they're real quiet about it
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/25 09:46 PM

I have had them before but only on my own and they're rare. Never got it to work with a partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/25 09:44 PM

because I desperately want to fall in love and get married and build a corny sweet life together with a man, but I'm terrified of dooming him to misery if I cannot be what he needs or wants sexually
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/25 09:43 PM

it's not secretly dating me lmao. he knows the secret is that I fuckin hate it and hope his dick cures it
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/25 09:32 PM

people got it backwards. kids are hilarious and goofy. babies are lame, they can't do anything.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/25 09:25 PM

my deep dark secret is that I hope I'm not asexual and when I eventually have sex with the guy I'm dating it'll be so amazing that my third eye will open and my chakras will align and I'll finally realize sex was incredible all along I am not terribly optimistic about this outcome but fingers crossed

Okay. But the fact remains: "I think you are projecting your sexual attraction to male traits like competence, maturity and intelligence unto me" is not applicable to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/25 01:40 PM

Spend the rest of the date wondering what else he is prone to lying about, head home, send him a "nice to meet you but we aren't compatible" text.

god almighty that's so many words
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/25 02:47 AM

I'm asexual. I have no sexual attraction to anyone's traits. And I didn't say anything about men only caring about your body. You have me confused with someone else.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/25 02:43 AM

I don't think you sexualize your sister. I assume that at some point, if you're attracted to women in general, you've sexualized them, yes? Yet you also consider them immature and ultimately childlike? That's the part I find confusing. How you could be sexually attracted to a gender whose intellectual and mental capacity is supposedly similar to a child's. But really, I won't dig too far into that. It's not worth finding out deep this particular rabbit hole goes.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/10/25 06:23 PM

how do people know what kind of kinky stuff their partners did in the past are you having coffee and she's like "I let a dude stick it up my butt one time but you are NOT allowed to" when is this stuff coming up in conversation?? or is everyone just insane and oversharing all the time
/r/PurplePillDebate06/10/25 05:07 PM

that's the dream or at least find a guy who doesn't act like sex is an excuse to cause a bunch of pain
/r/PurplePillDebate06/10/25 05:01 PM
1

"sex should only be done for people who care for you" sounds very ideal but the longer I'm here, the more I'm learning that most men apparently lack the capacity to care for other human beings (and many will proudly say as much)
/r/PurplePillDebate06/10/25 04:53 PM
2

Again, absolutely crazy to frame the group of people you want to have sex with as childlike, but I suppose I shouldn't be surprised by anything at this point
/r/PurplePillDebate06/10/25 04:43 PM
2

I've been hanging out in redpill/blackpill circles long enough to know that above average men will simply view me as subhuman hole for their dick Other men will too, of course, but weeding out the above average ones right off the bat is an easy cut
/r/PurplePillDebate06/10/25 03:14 PM
2

infantilizing the same group of people you wanna fuck is crazy business and I will never understand how it aids sexual attraction but ykinmk edit: unless you are gay and then nvm this is irrelevant but if you aren't gay I find this whole approach to the object of your desires fascinating
/r/PurplePillDebate06/10/25 03:06 PM

"Sometimes people do things and sometimes they don't" is a hell of a thesis.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/10/25 07:28 PM

There are countless contemporary romances about regular working class and middle class people as well. It's definitely worth exploring the genre a bit if you're looking for stories that feel grounded/realistic. It's becoming incredibly diverse and has grown tremendously in recent years. You'll definitely find stuff to suit your tastes.

I mostly just think it's funny that you were astounded by the thought of a woman being 420lbs and not at all phased by the 6'9" part lol Not unheard of but it would be a damn tall lady
/r/PurplePillDebate05/10/25 04:13 PM

"i always wanted to read a romance book that was realistic" contemporary romance there's a big market for it right now. lots of readers. but also lots of publishing competition and the genre is (of course) flooded with slop at all times. it's hard to get yours noticed with all the noise, but if/when you do, you're in a good place.

These women do exist on right-wing/conservative/Christian algorithms of social media. But that's just the thing: they are within their own group. Party girls aren't going to encounter these women online, and are even unlikely to encounter them in real life because their social circles revolve around church and their immediate community. There's simply not much natural overlap between the two types of women you are discussing. I say that as a reserved/"prudish" woman myself - I don't know any par…

My friend's husband and his best friend come to mind. They're very similar, average nerd type, Christian men mostly dating within the church or their various social groups. My friend's husband is, of course, now married and has a child. His friend has perpetually struggled to get a first date. They tried to set me up with the friend. He rejected me after one phone call, citing the fact that he has "enormously high standards" and started on a "you probably wouldn't like me anyway" type of apology…

I just don't understand where people see all these women aiming for the top 5%. Maybe it depends on where you live, but I'm in a tight-knit semi-rural area and everyone I know has dated their social peers because that's really all there is here. There's been no struggle for my female friends to find a decent guy. Most of them have 1-2 exes before settling down with their spouses and having kids their late 20s or early 30s. Their husbands are bank tellers, x-ray techs, highway patrolmen, etc. Com…

Single issue voters are so goofy. "I was mad about one very specific thing so I voted for an entire swath of policies based on that singular feeling." I'm asexual. I do not like any dicks. I do not want to discuss them.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/25 08:05 PM

My point is that your tactic isn't EMDR. Your tactic is "make someone comfortable with me before I try to fuck them." There's no need to use a term with an established definition to incorrectly label your tactic.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/25 08:05 PM

please stop talking to me about dicks
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/25 07:22 PM

EMDR isn't about distracting activities. It's all about memory processing coupled with bilateral stimulation, wherein both hemispheres of the brain are being activated alongside the memory. Bilateral stimulation is the core mechanism. You need the alternating sensory pattern of eye movement, auditory or tactile input in order to trigger the proper nervous system response. Apart from maybe walking, which can mimic the effects to a very slight extent (assuming you maintain a very rhythmic pace and…
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/25 07:08 PM

Anxiety tends to become everyone else's problem. I say that as someone who has overcome pretty debilitating anxiety. It drives you to seek constant comfort and reassurance. Well-meaning folks will try to offer it, but what they have to give is never enough, anxiety is an insatiable beast. The goalposts for that reassurance move constantly. Eventually you exhaust the individual you're trying to get it from. It makes relationships really fucking hard.

They'll be free to pursue the type of person they'd rather be with.

The guy I'm dating is very stealthy about his socialization lol. He'll ask me what I'm doing today, and I usually lay out my plans and chat about them. He'll say he's not doing much. Then we're talking later and turns out he grabbed lunch with a friend at a very cool new restaurant, had a fantasy football meet-up, played some games with a buddy he hadn't talked to in a while, etc. His social life is pretty vibrant. He just doesn't share details about it unless I ask some very specific questions …

"I do not have the capacity to talk to another human being because I must participate in labor at all times" is a ridiculous take. You're posting here right now. Clearly "earning" is not absorbing every second of your day. If your time is truly that tight, you could be using this time to form a meaningful connection with someone instead of hanging out here.

I always think this subject could be a great gateway into a dialogue about various thresholds of sexual pleasure, how sexual pleasure doesn't necessarily need to be dependent on orgasm, and how we've narrowed our frame of "good sex" to an utterly detrimental degree But men never want to talk about that

It's funny, as I was reading the ad I thought it was incredibly appealing. He comes across as a hard worker, has a positive attitude about things (or at least knows how to sound like he does,) "that's what's the matter with me" is a very charming spin at the end that made me laugh out loud, and I like the little touch of vulnerability. He sounds earnest. But then I say that as a woman who has always drifted along outside the acceptable societal norm. I've never been able to advertise myself well…

/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/25 11:05 PM

The "strange concept" to me is the idea that I'd be at all concerned with whether or not men view me as a viable partner. I don't typically analyze the preferences of strangers and determine whether they're advantageous to me or not.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/25 07:56 PM

It simply means I do not find this individual attractive. I'm currently dating a man with a few traditionally "undesirable" (according to posters here) features - a receding hairline, fairly nerdy appearance, "strongfat" build with significant weight carried in his stomach. /r/PurplePillDebate23/09/25 09:17 PM

You dismiss every dissenting opinion and then wonder why the women in your manufactured reality all believe the same thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/25 08:56 PM

I'm not particularly attracted to him regardless...his features are more "feminine" than what I prefer in men - I'm just not into plump pouty lips/delicate nose/etc. I go for guys with a more "rugged" look.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/25 08:50 PM

s-s-sowwy I'll never ever talk back to the healthy bmi guy ever ever evvvverrrr again, he's so smart and so right all the time, pwease don't be mad at me 🥺🥺🥺🥺 i'm just a widdle guy
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/25 08:40 PM

I think I'm getting too old for this place because every guy who gets posted looks like a child to me

Date a woman who doesn't use social media. Problem solved. You'll never have to ponder this particular issue again.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/25 07:24 PM

I think you are significantly overestimating your impact on the world.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/25 07:20 PM

I would not date a man who drinks and expect him to stop drinking. I would not date a man who engages in casual sex and expect him to stop engaging in casual sex. I would not date a man who was unemployed and expect him to become employed. Expecting someone to change their exhibited and established pattern of behavior is unlikely to have favorable results. Work with the data you have. If that data points to incompatible values, do not date the individual.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/25 07:18 PM

It seems very straightforward to me. If you don't want to date a woman who engages in drunken hookups, select women from environments and backgrounds that don't encourage drunken hookups.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/25 06:32 PM

Do I take issue with someone having standards of behavior for the person they're dating? No.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/25 06:31 PM

If you meet in a club, you know the person goes to clubs. If you meet on social media, you know the person uses social media. If you do not want to be with a person who engages in those behaviors, then do not seek out people in those specific environments. This type of problem is endlessly confusing to me. I personally hated the thought of dating a man who enjoyed clubs, so I did not speak to men who went to clubs. I hated the thought of dating a man who drank, so I did not speak to men who dran…
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/25 05:47 PM

The appropriate boundary would be refusing to date someone who goes clubbing or posts thirst traps. A boundary cannot be used to enforce the behavior of another human being.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/25 05:45 PM

That's a strange choice for 30+ since "sea creatures" have a very wide range of sizes. Nudibranchs, for example, are typically only a few millimeters/centimeters. That strikes me as sloppy categorization.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/25 05:42 PM

It's interesting how much perspectives can differ on this term. On one hand you have something like this, but then I've also seen comments here where is 200lbs mentioned as qualifying a woman as a landwhale. Lots of 200lb women are nowhere near taking up two seats/requiring seatbelt extenders/etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/25 04:40 PM

I didn't know there was any issue with men setting boundaries
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/25 04:35 PM

Heteronormativity really does a number on people's understanding of their own sexuality.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/25 03:13 PM

What's a "noticeable gut" though? Is a stomach pouch a gut? If a woman bloats on their period, during the bloating are they considered a landwhale? Are they a landwhale post-pregnancy if their stomach doesn't shrink immediately? Do "large arms" include musculature or is it a certain fat percentage? Is this only regarding the upper arm? What does "large" actually mean? Long? Thick? Disproportionate to the torso? Is a "chubby face" only determined by fat distribution or is the skeletal face shape …
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/25 03:08 PM

I think it's that the word "fat" has been applied so liberally to so many different body types and sizes that it's essentially become meaningless.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/25 02:27 PM

That's what made me finally admit I was at least bisexual, probably skewing more same-sex attracted. I was talking to a very straight female friend and said "most women are just so insanely pretty, y'know?" and she was like "...they're really not"
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/25 02:16 PM

Understanding the terminology used here. I like context.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/25 12:46 PM

At what point does one begin qualifying as a landwhale? In terms of BMI or other numerical data.

"Literally no one looks at themselves and says I'm a 3 so I'm only allowed to be attracted to 3s" - that's what I do lol If I see a guy who is out of my league and I find him attractive, I bully myself out of it until I'm no longer interested
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/25 12:28 PM

that's why I just lay there and dissociate the entire time can't do anything to upset a man if I'm catatonic

/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/25 07:36 PM

stuff like this make me wonder what kind of work men are out there doing I met my boyfriend on tinder. We talked for a while, then I planned a first date for us, then we were like "we should keep dating each other," so we did that. the end.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/25 07:35 PM

one time when I was little I went to Chuck E. Cheese and I won tickets from the skee-ball game but they weren't tearing off for some reason, and this slightly older boy next to me said "let me help you get them out" and I was like "wow thanks!" and he tore them off and then he said "I get to keep them now" and he took them all and I cried.

The most actualized man I know is an elderly Vietnam vet who spent years overcoming his PTSD and has become a respected local politician. He is logical, conservative, mild-mannered, well-spoken, and deeply committed to defending his values. His sense of self is admirable, as is his sense of servitude and willingness to sacrifice for the greater good. He's a rare breed. Especially compared to the people I see online.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/25 04:12 PM

I wasn't comparing how people respond to the effort. I was simply stating that effort is required.

one ought to pour into their community regardless of whether or not anyone will reciprocate
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/25 02:06 PM

not necessarily. I find extroverted men grating and shallow. most of my introverted friends feel similarly.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/25 01:21 PM

[edit: ignore this comment because i have been told that I am wrong, and that men aren't able to form or maintain meaningful community connections to the degree that women are able to. I didn't know that was the case, sorry for my misunderstanding] some men act like women are gifted with healthy supportive communities while overlooking the work that it takes to cultivate those communities humans maintain connections through labor. checking in on one another, feeding one another, remembering impo…

That doesn't mean it's not immature. A toddler's desires are human desires. Over time, they grow out of the silly ones.

I obviously don't think it's an imminent threat. That's why I posted a sarcastic comment. My actions indicate "mockery and dismal" because I am, in fact, hoping to convey mockery and dismissal. Republicans are not a threat to women's rights. I'm not sure why you believe I think they are. I never indicated such. Both parties are corrupt and ineffective, so put whichever puppet in charge you'd like to, nothing will ultimately change for the better. Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. OP th…

Such is the reality for most people. I have often doubted that the men I'm dating are truly attracted to me. It's not some great tragedy - it's simply my lack of self-esteem. I take responsibility for my mental state, I do not blame it on the men themselves. My perception is my own problem to deal with and I am free to do the work to correct it as necessary. I am no victim of circumstance. I don't particularly care who "won" an imaginary war. Congratulations to whichever side believes they brave…
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/25 02:08 PM

It looks like the comments are mostly agreeing, which is what I would expect. The comments seem to approach the subject realistically. Anyone who has fully functional cognitive abilities and is emotionally regulated surely realizes that most members of the opposite gender are not attracted to them. (As a woman, I'd assume that at most, perhaps 5% of men I encounter in this lifetime would be attracted to me. But that's being generous, the reality could be much lower.) Regardless, assuming the maj…
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/25 01:34 PM

Why would anyone on earth assume that most people are attracted to them, regardless of gender? That's some delusional narcissistic shit.
