I figured it was worthless to even reply in here, I'd just had a bottle of wine and figured it was worth a shot. What I was alluding to is that maybe that 11 year old kid just learned a lesson that will keep him from beating up his girlfriends down the line. Maybe learning now, at that young age, that girls aren't to be punched (there's simply no arguing this, you're over 17 and you punch a girl - you're going to jail, at least here in America,) will save him and his mother a lot of heartache. I grew up being beat / watching my mom get beat by my step-dad. She was absolutely powerless to it and it was emotionally (not to mention physically,) devastating. It's different. There's no semantics to argue.

You're seriously arguing the point? It's simply NOT okay to hit a girl, period, and it's a lesson I'm glad he learned now rather than 20 years down the line.
