I agree that PPD and PPP are very dangerous if felt untreated. Worst case being the Andrea Yates case. However, there needs to be an INVESTIGATION before everyone decides the woman’s mental illness caused her to kill her children and start defending her. And based on that one person’s comment, that doesn’t sound like the case. You need to find out the facts before you make an assumption.

In my personal opinion, we do not live in a patriarchy. We also do not live in a matriarchy. We live in a society that has different perceptions of people depending on their sex, race, sexuality, etc. that they both suffer and benefit from. And there are groups within society that perpetuate those perceptions (mostly the negative ones) of one group in order to make the other group look better.

It sounds like the ‘mother’ only went back to pay rent and occasionally. That’s probably why the kid was able to live there so long without an eviction notice being posted. Still, as horrible as the situation is, I’m impressed by how resilient and responsible the boy is. This could have ended a lot worse. But I’m glad it didn’t.

You should talk to a lawyer and see what your options are. I’ve seen a couple of stories in Reddit where someone faked a husband/wife having an affair using fake texts and photoshopped pictures. So maybe see if you can get the former friend to record your rapist admitting to what she did. Best of luck.

Agreed. The first thing that comes to mind is season 1 of Bridgerton when Daphne SA’s Simon in an attempt to get pregnant. The show framed it as Simon’s fault because of a misunderstanding about Simon’s fertility and completely ignores the fact that Daphne decided to get revenge for this by assaulting Simon. It’s absolutely disgusting what writers can get away with with a simple reversal of the genders of characters.

Did anything come of your call to child protective services? That might help your case in court. Also, I agree with what other people say about getting a new lawyer. Anyone who knows about suspected abuse and actively tries to give the suspected abuser full access to their victims is not someone you want on your side.

I have honestly never understood that. Im a woman, and personally I always find it incredibly heartbreaking when men cry. Even more so than when women cry. I think this might be because many men start crying when they cannot put up the front of strength anymore. So whenever I see my father or one of my brothers cry I also start tearing up.

I’m not a guy or a lawyer, but based on past Reddit readings I recommend keeping those texts and keeping a folder of all of the bills you paid to help her get her degree. I don’t know what it will do, but it might be helpful concerning child support or if she tries to accuse you of anything. Also, for visitation, pick up and court dates, keep to your arranged times and don’t miss a date. Courts are really strict about that stuff and you can risk custody by missing just one.

If your in a club that is restricted to 18+, I think it’s pretty fair to assume that any girl/boy you are going to interact with is going to be over 18.
