I live in AZ, sent pic to a friend, with caption, this is a representation of the dating pool. We both agreed and laughed 🤣. Seriously, it is the representation of the men here.

I lost respect for JLo 15 years ago when she thought it appropriate to be on Seventeen magazine as a 35 yo WOMAN!!! I wouldn’t allow that trash magazine in my house , explained to my daughter of the insanity of a grown woman being in a teen magazine. 😤

Wow!!! I could check off several on this list of reactions my ex was having. He used my medical insurance more than me for many symptoms listed!!! Thank you for bringing light to his ailments. I suspected he was taking them , purchasing off Craigslist.🤣🤦‍♀️. Guess he wasn’t a hypochondriac just suffering side affects.

I’ve been called a ball buster many many times for the past 30 years 🤷‍♀️. Been married twice, raised 2 kids, a son and daughter. Even with the perceived confidence, my last relationship was with an abusive narcissist. I’m not a man hater/ ball buster but an equal. It’s men that expect me to be submissive. Nope not going to do it! I give men the respect they give me. Seems when I’m in a position of authority do I get the respect. Definitely not in a romantic relationship. Guess my man picker is …

A beautiful post 🥰👑. Welcome to enlightenment little sis. During the holidays, found a picture with my children, 25 years ago. I remember that day very well. I remember thinking then, maybe I’m meant to live alone some day. Was in a toxic marriage and kept trudging along another 11 years. I’m now living alone for 4 years and with all the craziness of 2020, it’s truly the best year of my life. My best advice, build your best life. The more you love yourself, the more positive vibration and energy…

The old bait and switch tactics. When I did OLD, I can’t tell you how many times I’d meet in person and practically run to my car after. I’m middle aged and learned to look for hints in the background. I finally gave up. OLD is time wasted for minimal return. I’m content being single and living a full life on my terms.

Pictures are over time lol. Slim pictures are probably 10 years old 22-25, from his “fuller “ picture, he looks 32-36. OP- what’s his age on profile, am I close?

I didn’t realize I had a fuck off fund until I was forced twice to pull myself out of bad marriages. I was taught to never depend on a man. Wasn’t taught to not be a builder Barb . Each time I found a way to build myself back up and move forward even when I was scared of the consequences. Always always focus on your long term goals even if you can’t see the path for the smoke and mirrors. Self perseverance builds resilience. YOU CAN DO this!! 💕

I asked a guy to leave when he told me my dogs don’t belong in the bedroom. Back when I had bad decisions in men. I got up and told him I’ll show you to the door, had to put my robe on to kick him out. My dogs sleep on the floor and are my loyal guardians. Dogs before bros 🤣🤣 Edit: a correction

This hit home and somewhat painful to watch. I am the classic example of the survivor of the psychopath narcissist. I watched because I never want to forget what I went through. I have been diagnosed with CPTSD and TBI from the abuse, my memories have moments of lapse. What I will always have, is recognizing I will never be the same trusting person I was . For that I am grateful 🙏.

It’s because they CAN! Society doesn’t shame them . If a woman starts dating in the “middle of a divorce “, she’s a slut or desperate. In my case, my ex had a gf lined up in another state before divorce was finalized. She knew he wasn’t divorced and felt sorry for him. That bit her when 6 months later he moved on to someone else. Within a year of our divorce married the next woman after her. Why do they need to work on themselves when they are perfect 👌. So all in all, on 5th wife. BTW- she’s (#…

The purse or a nurse is REAL. When I was dating, was asked straight up if I owned my home and did anyone live with me 😱. Connected those dots very quickly. I was sharing with a married friend today, there are 3 pools of available guys. 1) Co-dependent that can’t be alone 2)Guys who have lived alone too long and rigid , need a maid 3) Guys who think they are players at 50+ .

I have no advice lol. I just know I’ve tapped out of relationships. I enjoy being in a relationship with myself. I’ve surrounded myself with friends and family. My emotional support needs are being met without having to sacrifice my sanity or financial stability for a romantic relationship.

I’m in my 50’s, reason 9999 of why I stopped dating. Men in my age group are older looking, act old and can’t do the physical activities I can. It’s not worth the effort. Men who actually stay in decent shape are gym rats who date 20 years younger. It’s all about their ego and I’m not interested in inflating a mans ego anymore. The above picture pretty much sums up the 45+ dating pool 🤢. It’s very slim pickings out there.

The fact he knows where you live and still feels the need to contact you is concerning. For him to live in another state and “happened “ to see you at that specific time, already sounds like stalking. All you have to say in writing is never contact me again. Any response at all is enough for a restraining order. In my state (US), judges decided to issue restraining orders not police. I recommend sending do not contact me reply and see what happens. If he responds negatively, go get the restraini…

I think we can all agree, cashing in home equity is a HUGE flag for disposable assets and vacations. I have yet seen will power to prevent further debt accumulation after using equity as a liquid cash account.

It’s not a bad idea at all, but I’ve seen many use their home equity as a line of credit. You put your entire home at risk, not just the amount you borrowed at risk. Auto loans are around 5% right now in US for average credit. If you can’t afford a 5% auto loan, you may be in over your head. Btw- mortgage interest rates are about 2.65 % in US for a score over 700. If someone is using their HELOC for disposable assets, definitely red flag of poor money management.

I’m over 50 and I’m still shocked! Online dating scams have been around for at least 20 years!! There are TV shows, documentaries, podcasts, books, subreddits etc. It’s a personal choice to engage and ignore the obvious signs. If you have internal loneliness, you are at risk no matter the age. My experience has been servers will always take time to chat with you. I don’t drink but will sit at the bar top and chat with the bartender or other patrons. Start slow, go in for a beverage. If you’re uncomfortable, leave after the beverage and try again at another establishment. Practice will ease your anxiety 🥰

Some are addicted to the drama and chaos. It’s a weird addiction if you’ve been engaged as a child or in a relationship. You get “high” off the endorphins of drama. I’ve been there and had to rewire my brain to enjoy serenity and calmness. It’s mental gymnastics 😢

It’s a control exercise, he’s testing her boundaries and if she can be manipulated with an insane illogical suggestion. The fact she even questioned herself is already a sign he’s already in her head and she’s questioning herself. He wants her to shed her identity for HIM. I feel sorry for her right now, she’s in a relationship with a dangerous man who’s messing with her mental health.

I have been recently diagnosed from TBI from my abusive relationship, going in for scans to see if my brain trauma can be detected. I was a strong independent woman who got hit in the head and fallen down stairs. I couldn’t understand why my brain fog wasn’t lifting after 4 years out. After I’ve researched, TBI keeps us in the relationship because we start having memory lapses and questioning our sanity. I now live alone after 32 years of serial monogamy with 2 husbands. I learned to do my own home repairs, clean my own house , work full time and bought 2 houses and sold 1 in 4 years of singlehood. About 10 years ago there was a website called “Don’t Date Him”, women posted their stories warning other women of men they dated. Because they used full names with true experiences, it was sued and shut down. I accidentally found it googling someone. I am a strong independent women but he scared me to my core. I suggest outside security cameras that chirp at motion , stream to your phone. Get motion lights as well. Cameras and lights are inexpensive compared to your sanity. I’m 4 years out and living my best life. The fear will go away , your high alert probably not 😢.

Here’s one for you, guy I was seeing for a couple months. I mentioned company bonuses were coming soon, he asks , how are WE spending 😳. I said I am paying off debt and buying me some jewelry. I dropped him fast.

Well I think my ex must have read his playbook because 11 years ago, I got played exactly as he describes. Woke me up to the game, a little late but I’m on high alert and have no problem dropping guys like this like a hot rock. NEVER AGAIN, Thank you ex for the lesson and opening my eyes. I have been single 4 years and I’m rocking an amazing solo life. Own my house, nice car , fabulous career. My home is peaceful and absolutely no drama. I will date now and then but block as soon as I see a hint…

So was I 😞, twice. Plant the seed , no confrontation just let her read. Let the information sink in . Good luck ! Keep us updated. PS, my daughter and I bond over the posts and laugh at our prior behavior ( it’s embarrassing looking back).

Because of the trauma I endured, I’m sober and a cancer survivor!!! Yesterday was my 4 year anniversary of my escape in the middle of the night. In 2018, had “Still I Rise” tattooed inside my arm to remind me I’m a survivor/ warrior!!! I learned to love myself better than a romantic partner ever could! I will never allow another LVM in my life again. I’m 55 and now look at the trauma as a gift to redefine my life and goals. NEVER let someone steal your serenity or devalue you! Love to all you be…

I’m not going to be popular with my response. This post sounds very condescending to us in recovery. If “cold” turkey was a magic cure to any recovery then we’d all have the capacity to “just do it”. Addiction of any sort takes awareness, time , knowledge and a strong support system. To bash others especially other women seems to counter this subs intent for dating strategies. Please consider kindness and love for those of us progressing through addiction 💕.

Always pay attention to the background! I’ve seen pictures with background banners with dates from 1990’s , computer monitors at least 20 years old , cars in background from prior decades. I’ve given up on OLD but do miss the entertainment 🤣.

My first post , my daughter introduced me to this sub. Got her hint . 😉. I’m 55 and am disgusted and disappointed in the single men in my “age group “🤢. I’m a normal woman who doesn’t look my age, partly to good genes( shockingly) and taking care of myself by eating healthy. In person I can’t even tell how old a guy is because of how bad he looks. I’ve met men 35 to 65 who think they have a shot. ALL LVM who seem to be completely unaware of how awful they look. Beer bellies, bad teeth, unkept fi…
