I still don't think giving validation is necessary. A simple "Hey, noticed you and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm ___ and would love to get to know you better, etc" works just fine, at least it did when I cold approached an HB8 at the gym the other day.

Completely understood, you're right. I wouldn't want to make her my GF because as mentioned I don't find her super attractive anyway. i guess I made this post because it was the first time I had not just read about a trp concept, but actually experienced it first hand. Well at the end of the last date I said "Ill text you later this week to hang" and she repeated what I said, in agreement. I see what you're saying though, thanks. This really sucks as I had somewhat of an opportunity to go to her dorm but apparently failed a plausible deniability / ASD test. Yes, I went on a date with a solid 8-8.5 this past weekend, best looking girl by far I've ever asked out (cold approached daytime actually) and it was my most enjoyable date that I can remember. In the future though bringing up a second date on the first date isnt a good idea unless it's very specific and not your initial suggestion.
