I get that women often receive less harsh punishment as men in very similar circumstances but we do not always know the entire set of circumstances for either side. Some just assume that the woman received 6 months when the man received 2 years. So glad I have been with my GF then wife since 1977. So nice to not have to deal with this kind of drama in dating and the single life. When I was younger I was always being asked if I played in the NFL. I'm 6'5 and weighed 250 and looked like I could play. Once I had a Cowboys bag I got for free and 4 of us walked into an elevator with an old lady who asked if we were football players and I said we were and we here for training. Again. Not true. Coming from a long time LE background I can tell you that officers/investigators have no issue doubting a rape victim and it often happens when even the evidence is strong that there was a rape. We had a male investigator put back in uniform when he cleared a rape call as "Unfounded" even when there was a witness who heard the lady screaming to stop and get off her. Never said any such thing. We have a case where a guy attacked a lady and her daughter at a local park stabbing both. While charges were placed they'll likely never go forward due to the mental status of the guy. It's a slippery slope sometimes and while I doubt this lady is on the same level (mental competence) I still read between the lines and wondered if this is playing a role.
