For me, every day starts with a completely empty list This is exactly how my day starts too, the amount of notebooks I go through writing lists is criminal 😂 Unfortunately, as I said before, I have issues with prioritising things on that list, and so it feels like everything has to be done right now. Couple that with side quests (my ADHD brain likes to jump to doing something random in the middle of a task, the new thing becomes super important and must be completed now and all other tasks have …

This was honestly a fascinating read, and very insightful - thank you! I think that's part of what angers women. The notion of "If you noticed it needed to get done, why didn't you just do it right away" This is so true!! I think I (and maybe most other women, but I can't talk for them) do think exactly that, when you see it, you action it. But also what happens is that all of those things I clock when doing a task all get added to a mental list (and a physical list too because ADHD makes it har…

Men just don't seem to notice things as much. I just don't get this 😂 I don't know whether it is because my brain is always hyper aware of everything due to ADHD but I'm like, how can you not notice?! I guess it's just quite hard for me to imagine that nobody else sees things the same way I do! Until my diagnoses I literally thought everybody had a universal experience of the world, so 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm still learning new things 😂 What I don't understand about this, is how men who come out of long-term …

I think women can sometimes create their own mental load, and maybe that is due to expectations being set higher than for our male counterparts. I will normally stress a lot if the house does not look like a show-home when family comes to visit, should I? Absolutely not! Yet I do! My husband however, doesn't even think about it, it is a non-issue, and honestly, I believe that is the better mindset to have. But I guess girls grow up being socialised differently and feel there is this pressure to …

My understanding of mental load is not necessarily just the household chores (although it would be lovely if my husband could occasionally notice that something needs doing without me "having to tell him" - his words, not mine!) but more all the invisible things that need doing just to keep the day-to-day ticking over. And I definitely do not just mean the things that only suit me, or my insane need for organisation 😂 (and yes, I do have set days to do set wash loads but that is an expectation I…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
