Mohammad and Jesus existed. If you have a problem with the stuff around them it doesn't mean they did not exist. As for free speech, wouldn't this apply to hateful and discriminatory speech? Why are we stopping anything that's remotely racist, for example, while we crank up the offense on a different group? Shouldn't we be striving for a welcoming society?

As should be the standard. In the current climate, the accusation of sexual assault or even misconduct can get your life ruined almost completely. Making a false accusation knowingly should result in some hefty consequences. If you knowingly decide to go after someone in a way that would completely destroy their lives, they should be allowed to come after you through the courts and demand equivalent retribution/restitution.
