No worries, downvotes/upvotes alone aren't changing my opinion. This sub is very rarely interested in making progress on troubles men face, and is primarily concerned with being anti feminist and getting angry

I firmly believe that a very few people at the top benefit from trying to blame men for everything. Absolutely. And conversely, many benefit from trying to blame women. The division causes anger, clicks, people getting passionate, etc. Without going too /r/enlightenedcentrism on you, there are people that want you to get mad at feminists when in reality they are not affecting your lives. They are just keeping you busy on their youtube channels so they get money and their political aisle gets sli…

I wouldn't necessarily disagree with that, now what?

You haven't made a single case against toxic masculinity there. You've just ranted about the things that it makes you feel when people use the word. You're highlighting the very thing I'm saying without realising it.

Which laws have been reversed that stopped it being 100%? I certainly agree that women in general get arrested less, and I think there's definitely a court bias, I just don't agree that theres some law out there that prevents women getting arrested and makes men get arrested or something

Bruh, this is a million responses in one, you've gone all over the place and seemingly disagree with yourself multiple times? You've gotta keep it concise my dude if you don't know how to make standalone arguments. What would you like me to respond to? Your friend has a single expectation that is only placed on men, which is no man should cry. Would he have such a belief if his friend wad a woman? I'd doubt it. No, he wouldn't. Women are certainly not telling him he shouldn't cry. Other men are.…

I'd really struggle to believe thats law in the US, or else no woman would be in jail for domestic abuse. Is that true?

Never heard of that, googling it seems like some yank thing. I'm from the UK. We don't have that here.

No the guy I'm replying to says it doesnt exist, and it's just misandry. LOTS of people on this subreddit say toxic masculinity doesn't exist for what it's worth.

Seems like you agree toxic masculinity exists mate, think you've replied to the wrong person. It's Greg Allan that is saying it's not a thing, tell him what it is, not me.

You think if I'm afraid to cry in front of my mate, its because of his hatred for men?

I quite literally didn't say that. You're rephrasing what I said. If you've never raped anyone, they clearly aren't talking about you? Chill. In what part here am I accusing him of being a rapist? I'm quite literally saying he isn't, and saying that they aren't talking to him. Nice try though, mate.

No it's not mate. I'd love a discussion but all I can say here is that you're using the phrase wrong. You might have read about it for the first time today, but that doesn't mean every gripe you have is a kafka trap.

That's not even remotely the same conversation. We can talk about brushing aside mens issues is a big problem, agreed. It's not the main cause of the problems in the first place though

Toxic masculinity isn't an attack on masculinity itself or men. It's an attack on how society treats men and expects them to act. I know its not the nicest way of saying it, but if you drop the anger at the phrasing, you'll find that you actually agree with this person, and that's how we can make progress. You are causing division just because you don't like the word. You both mean the same thing.

So they agree with you, but they used a word your favourite youtuber trained you to get angry at so you'll find ways to hate them anyway and further the divide? Good job

It's hard enough reading your comments, almost none of them make sense at first reading. What are you actually saying here? Other than "read the article" which I obviously already have.

Never said that, either. "I wonder if there are any correlations between terrible people and being raised by single mothers and taught by almost exclusively female teachers." You didn't say it on purpose because you know you can't defend it, but you implied it like a coward

The man who murdered her is in his 40s. He grew up in the 80s in the UK. The "single mum" culture you're referencing wasn't even around then, there's a very low chance he grew up with a single mum unless you have some evidence to prove so? Jesus christ. Even rapey and murdery men aren't to blame for their actions, it's because of their "single mums" and female teachers? You just hate women and can't be reasoned with dude, conversations over.

I agree marriage is gynocentric. I don't agree politics is. I do agree education is, certainly in my country. There are ways that both genders miss out due to patriarchy/gynocentrism/whatever it is. Stop getting offended just because some other men are having the blame put on them, and focus on what really matters. When people say we have a patriarchy, they are not saying You are in charge of society, they are saying some elite men are. I didn't say anything of the sort, only you have defined pa…

Even if this wasn't hyperbole, lets pretend. Are you that dim that you think it's about who's a victim, and not about whos comitting the crimes? Men are victims more, but they're also perps way more too.

With that sort of rhetoric, why would the world ever improve? How can you ask for changes in society to improve MensRights, if the politicians and judges can just say "don't worry about my actions, worry about your own". What an awful defense lmao, no wonder you're running away.

It was made by men but it wasn't made for men. You literally said "A Patriarchy is, by definition, a society controlled by and made for men", and then said we have a Matriarchy. implying you think our society is controlled by and for women. You are still arguing over words to mean the same thing though. You can literally call it gynocentrism for all I care. As long as the solutions remove any gender inequality, I'm for it. Call it that but stop men killing themselves due to mental health issues,…

It's really not a defence dude. You can disagree with people without contributing to a very serious mental health crisis.

Do you think this is productive when one of the biggest complaints around Mens Rights and Mens Health is suicide levels? It is incredibly hypocritical to be part of a movement that is focused on reducing mental health issues and outcomes, but then literally telling someone to contribute to the statistics. Awful behaviour.

You are posting your contribution to a discussion on a discussion board, I'm well within my rights to reply. If feminists really wanted equality, they wouldn’t have pushed for gender biased laws Can you show me the gender biased laws you are complaining of, and where "feminists" as a whole pushed for them? and blamed literally every aspect of being a man while calling them rapist constantly. Stop taking offense. If you've never raped anyone, they clearly aren't talking about you? Chill. If it st…

Call it whatever you want, are you really getting triggered by the word patriarchy and not what it involves? Here I am thinking we can have a proper discussion about society and its implications and you just want to get upset about a word beginning with P instead of M. Whatever it is, its the thing responsible for all the unfairness that we are complaining about on Mens Rights. Why are you so willing to brush it under the carpet? You think our society is made by women? That's insulting to men. G…

Of course it exists. You can name it whatever you like, but the concept exists, and it makes up the majority of mens rights complaints What causes society to favour women when considering who gets to keep a kid in messy divorces? What causes society to, among other things, keep less strict sentences on women because they need to be caregivers? What tells men not to cry because they'll look soft? What laughs at men being raped in prison, but thinks its the worst thing possible to women? What tell…

Why have you chosen to get angry on a very hopeful thread? This had nothing to do with hate, nothing to do with feminism, and was purely a good thing for Mens Rights everywhere. You've toxified the argument and made it about division. If your politics is all about getting angry, you cannot honestly say you want things to improve, you just want to divide and get angry at "them" vs "us". Awareness should be raised about things like this pure to spread the message and get everyone on board. Not to …

I highly recommend you check out this comment. It's hyperbole, and obviously she's not actually demanding this.
