The whole letter-word fenomenon has always struck me as strange. How many are there? The funny thing is that whatever combination you make it's always quite clear what word is meant, because the censored word is so prevalent. A-word, B-word, C-word... what's the point? Do you think it comes from the 'do not speak the name of the Lord in vain' thing? So why not use J-word for Jesus? D:

Sorry, I'm not on twitter nor do I follow the NFL. As I am not from the US, whatever you point towards isn't obvious either. Please link? I am trying to make sense of your point of view.

Yes, but even if the word nigger is no longer used, it's connotation of racism, or disrespect in general, will still be around. Another word would take it's place. We need to address the problem, and not the symptom.

The problem with this is that only the 'good people' would stop using the word, and nigger would still be prevalent amongst people who use it to be hurtful. Yes, bringing up Harry Potter wasn't exactly the greatest argument, but I aimed for the analogy with the usage of Voldemort's name in the books. By not saying his name, the wizarding world just ignores the problem, or maybe even reinforces it, where Harry and others advocate the opposite. EDIT: Would you not use words as holocaust, cancer or…

I appreciate your effort, but please just ask not to use the word nigger. Censoring a word doesn't make a problem go away, haven't you read Harry Potter? This just makes you look childish and/or american.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
