My point was they claim to have been blindsided but were likely informed by their wives of marital issues long before the split..

Sure. I’ve made the same mistake as Jonah—trying to change and control a partner. The internet is bad at conceding that we are all prone to that dumb thinking. But we all need to have more realistic expectations of people if we’re going to save energy and be happy.

No.. he was supposed to move on peacefully and accept that his girlfriend would remain the way she is. He is free to date any other girl in the world.

Sure, everyone has the right to move on at any time. But another old trope is that of the leopard not changing its spots—say I got into a relationship with a male stripper. If I decided a couple years in I wanted him to quit stripping, I wouldn’t think it was likely to happen. I’d just move on. I don’t think we’re in disagreement here.

Wasn’t Sarah B obviously someone who took bikini pics and surfed with men as a typical part of her job? Why’s he trying to change that now? He should’ve found a girl who conformed to those boundaries if they were so important to him. He can keep the boundaries, but not everyone may be able to conform to them. Such is life?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
