Honestly, I'd be traumatised and humiliated by this.

Just say you will be playing it by ear. Which is a very normal and acceptable way to be. You shouldn't really want "a relationship" like that until you learn you're actually into the person imo.

Seriously, they wanted to be awarded and praised for finding you beautiful. Lmao.

Literally everything you listed. Good for you. The amount of free labour I see some girlfriends giving is insane.

I think HVM are genuinely fun to be with romantically, because when it's with them it feels like a genuinely romantic and emotionally fulfilling experience. But they aren't that common. Most of these ladies are shacking up with their 50/50 boyfriends and making them dinner, acting like it's the best thing since sliced bread.

Lmao at using “single” as an insult. Research says that’s the peak of personal bliss for women.

No, you are not being dramatic. He was wondering who the “really cute” woman was? Your whole ass boyfriend? The shit women put up with. Yeah, this isn’t okay. Imagine if you did this to him.

I suppose I don’t understand why anyone would discuss their sex life with their friends, unless they are considering asking their friends to join in? It’s okay to have a private life, you don’t have to give others literally the most intimate details of your life just because you are friends. I’ve noticed this, a decent amount of women irl and online saying that they discuss the sex they have in detail with their friends. Down to his penis, performance, etc. Like people won’t be so open discussin…

For me, personally? Unprotected sex. The condom only comes off when it’s clear what the future holds. And in my opinion it’s only clear once he is legally committed. Besides that, I will not be putting my vagina or womb through that risk before that certificate is signed. Not living with your guy makes that boundary far easier to maintain.

You said it yourself, a HVM is the only man worth having a committed relationship with. Don't let anyone pressure you into a LV relationship. Because they won't be the ones there with you when you're dealing with his shit. Walk to the beat of your own drum.

Exactly. Next he will say "he doesn't like blood" when OP is on her cycle. What a strange and sad sad man.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/06/20 05:56 PM

Right? It doesn't even look like a conversation between a boyfriend and a girlfriend. And I don't mean that in a bad way towards OP, but like he's so hostile and lacking care in the way he talks to her. It's so weird and unsettling. He def has some secrets.

Starting constructive discussion is never a slight. Please feel very free to do so. Telling someone you don’t personally know that they have lower standards is a slight, which I simply defended myself against. Again, feel free to express yourself and have a nice weekend.

If my standards for men and relationships were so low I wouldn’t have turned down and walked away from the large amount of dating situations that I have. All I did last year was reject, walk away from, and block men who I felt I wasn’t going to gain anything from seeing. So that’s not true. I imagine that we are all on the same mission here on this sub, to sharpen our discernment and clear up any difficulties when it comes to dating. That’s all I was trying to ignite with this discussion.

True, I never realised that before. Doing a “third person” view of the relationship as if you were someone else is a great way to analyse things. Often in dating I can forget to do that. Thank you!

Okay, so genuine and unprompted self awareness and empathy when faced with what he’s done wrong? Makes a lot of sense. Thank you for your input.

Yup. In the past I have misread or overcomplicated something that wasn’t serious and was easy to talk through. He wasn’t a LVM, we just weren’t compatible. And it was a miscommunication on both of our parts. But at the time I wasn’t equipped with the wisdom/knowledge to deal with it accordingly.

A hiccup is described in dictionaries as minor problems or issues one may encounter, that are usually not intentional and not a serious problem. Like a literal hiccup. If it sounds “pick me” ish then I don’t know what to say. It’s basically human error and I don’t know anyone that has never made a genuine misstep in any part of life. What we do in those situations is we work on ourselves so it doesn’t happen again. I’m open to any constructive discussion.

And these men are almost never hot themselves. Or they would have already been able to attract hot and interesting women, provided they were high quality. There's a certain brand of LVM that is afraid of his cracks showing once he gets into a relationship. So he hides behind "I don't want a relationship". A relationship where he is held responsible would end up exposing how trash and unimpressive he is. A shallow connection further facilitates his intention to hide his true self.

I love how she has sky high standards in comparison to a lot of women I know in real life who are better off than her socially or financially. A lot of women think they have to have and acquire X, Y, and Z to demand quality treatment from men. And if not, then it's okay to be treated like dirt at the bottom of a shoe because they're not at a certain "level". It goes to show how you view and value yourself as a woman should have very little to do with the external. You are worthy because you are.…

Omg, I was just making a thread on this and realised you did already. He's "deVaStaTeD" but he keeps a whole collection of naked women's pictures who aren't his girlfriend? Like...really?

Nah, there’s nothing wrong with rational communication, rooted in common sense and logic. Acting chilled about shit you’re not chilled about is what is wrong. That is where women go wrong. They don’t speak their piece. But there’s no point getting a man to think you’re exerting a lot of your emotional energy into him.

This may not be the popular opinion but I think I feel a similar way about couples who are young and get together when they are 18. There isn’t too much difference to me. If after all this time you’re not sure about spending your lives together, why invest sooo much of your irreversible youth into a 5+ year relationship? When you could be getting to know other people, be learning how to date in general, just enjoying independence etc. These are the couples that usually move in together and have …

I think it’s absolutely crazy for a man to take up 5+ years of your romantic life and not be sure about you! It would be the end of it for me after 2 years. I’ve already told myself if a man I’m with is not clear about what he wants and doesn’t make action towards it within 2 years of us being together, I’m gone. And I’ll make myself clear on that with him way before that. For me it’s not about getting married in X amount of time. It’s about, in the words of Rihanna, “shutting down the grey area…

I don’t quite get it either, the ability to spend years and years as boyfriend and girlfriend, especially when both of you are settled in your lives and finances. Eventually it comes off as juvenile because how can you not be ready to legally protect your almost decade long relationship, but you’re both ready and willing to let 7 years turn into 8 years, ready to move in or buy a home together, ready to have unprotected sex that runs the risk of pregnancy etc? It’s like a lot of people see marri…

I can tell you are actually really good at acting. In the words of Kris Jenner: “You’re doing amazing, sweetie!” This is highkey the kind of content Tik Tok needs. Do your thing and block out nay sayers.

I personally don't think there's anything to be fearful or afraid of, but I do believe there's some things you should reserve for marriage. So that one, you can actually enjoy that fresh feeling of a new beginning. And so that two, you can directly associate the act of getting married with becoming a joint unit, and not anything before that. Speaks of boundaries and nothing getting blurred. Jmo.

I see where you are coming from, but isn't the entire dating stage the time when you're meant to work out whether he's a HVM? Not when you get engaged? He's not going to suddenly switch up once marriage is on the horizon. Just like a lousy and selfish man isn't going to suddenly become considerate once he gets married. Men's characters don't change like we think they do. It's just many of us don't vet hard and analyse in the very beginning like we're meant to. We can often get stuck in that infa…

I completely agree and I'm not religious. You don't need to be around each other 24/7 to know what they will be like in a marriage. People's character doesn't change once you live with them, so vet the character and not the living habits, which are simply direct results of their character.
