I've read literature that says approximately 6 months for women. As for the rest, several forums and books will say the same thing. And it tends to be true in my personal experience. They have a love/hate relationship with the concept of competition anxiety. The idea that they're fighting other women for your attention is subconsciously appealing to them. And once this stress is removed, they no longer feel like they're competing for a prize, ie your attention.
