It sounds like you're mistaking traditionally good advice as somehow being influenced by the red pill when, in reality, the red pill is simply operationalizing traditionally good advice. How to Win Friends and Think and Grow Rich came out in 1936 and 1937, respectively,

but this is real shit over here. You can't LARP being a man (in MRP) - you have to be a man. I should clarify - the emphasis in MRP is acta non verba. Or, as Kurt Vonnegut put it, "To be is to do." In TRP you can talk about the time you peacocked, kino'ed, and got this close to getting a number-close on an HB9. The tricks just didn't work. Oh well, you went home with your buddies and played Playstation. In MRP you need to be a man 24/7, and screwing up is way, way, way worse than getting rejecte…

TRP just about saved my life 7 years ago. Or, at least, turned it around. Now, I just can't go. Maybe it's that I'm 32 with a kid and have "done it," so a lot of the questions seem trivial... but this is real shit over here. You can't LARP being a man - you have to be a man. At the end of the day, I think TRP (when it's good) is focused on theory, while MRP is focused on blatant action, aided by theory. Every post here is either a Field Report where they get their shit fucked up or a theory post…

send back an undercooked steak or the wrong order; interrupt a salesman to say "no", and cut him off if he persists I literally had problems with both of these recently. First, I begged my wife not to send back a steak that was supposed to be rare but was well done (10/10 faggot) and she did. Second, I had a potential client on the phone with me today who wasn't a good fit. For the life of me, I couldn't get him off the phone. He kept asking why he wasn't a good fit ("isn't his money good enough…

I don't think it's a pathological issue - just being bored and lost for the last couple of years. Actually giving a shit has helped tremendously, which makes me think I'm in the number 2 camp.

While I agree with you on how innocuous it may seem, my goal last OYS was "don't drink this week." That's pretty black and white in terms of success or not and I should be a man enough to forego drinking simply because I decide I want to. I'd say that your 10/15 OYS will be an important one I agree with this 100% While I'm giving myself the chance to say "hey, I can have a little bit like an adult," that's famous last words for someone with a drinking problem. If I'm in a tough spot in a month, …

Look, I don’t give a fuck if you’re our customer or not… Not to belabor the point, but I've had quite a few salespeople think that this is somehow a great tactic as if it somehow makes their perceived value higher. Not your intention, only that some people *do* think this is a great idea for whatever lazy reason. The intent was that I didn’t want to take my company’s side in the issues – but rather wanted to figure out how to make things right. ... Even though I am not attending anywhere now, I want to pass on what I believe in the importance of faith to my kids. I’m not liking the group think that consistent church attendance inevitably causes and am finding my spiritual relationship with The Lord is becoming oddly stronger without church. I do have two very close IRL Christian red pill friends who we all challenge each other both spiritually to live out as the men God created us to be and personally to be the best version of ourselves. Current: Gorilla Mindset Overall very up and down week Drinking 3/10 Drank 2 beers or less at 3 different social events. This is my first month using it after researching it all Summer and being wary of my commitment to actually following through on it. Two weeks in and it's fucking awesome. As others have said, if you give every dollar a job, it's like you get an automatic raise. I'm pretty fucked with debt and making sure I have that in the budget at the beginning of the month is pretty freeing.

A great article on the easiest way for actors to shortcut looking jacked. (Shoulder, traps, and abs).* OHP for shoulders, DL for traps and forearms, and it's easier to see progress on those lifts (as opposed to bench and squat) while losing weight. I focused on BTNPP and SGDL for an entire summer and I wasn't going to enter a bodybuilding competition but it absolutely had the desired effect. *Obviously professionally monitored pharma-grade steroids are a pre-requisite, but still.

Those are all great points. I've mentioned in a couple of comments (quick example) that I'm slowly becoming more aware of the covert contracts I'm making each time I do something remotely not retarded. Part of the plan I need to make is putting it into the context of larger goals that we have (buying a house, savings fund for our daughter, etc.) and at least approaching it through that lense. In this specific scenario - if I'm looking for a pat on the head because I found out that I owe $95k to …

Ya, my excuse for people just starting is to never miss a Weekly Review, even if it was an unproductive week where you didn't get anything done. Miss one and it's easier to miss the next one... and the next one... and then you're so far behind what's the point because you'd have to go through the pain of restarting anyways.

you own your fuck up, you get the plan in place and you pay back the money My wife is obviously going to go ballistic, but she's been really receptive to a lot of changes that I've been making. I mentioned in my first OYS that she actually does like to be led and enjoys when I play the Captain. At the end of the day, this is just another step in that direction in a process that will take years (not just payback - but an overall improvement). You need to find a way of earning 95k and paying off your debt as quickly as possible. In the finances section above mentioned doubling income this year which doesn't include potential bonus (~$50k) so could go from $120k -> $300k which is a good start. Being conservative (no bonus) I can pay it off in 2 years. If I absolutely fucking crush (which I'm not banking on) it could be 1 year. Should mention my wife makes $100k. A quick aside: I think, in a weird way, this is actually going to be a rea…

Also will re-read Napoléon Hill and start the visualisation exercises in earnest. I read Think and Grow Rich in one sitting last week after having it on my bookshelf for 9 years. Pretty incredible stuff and I too have started the exercises and auto-suggestion with my financial goals. Not sure of the eventual effectiveness (we'll see), but simply keeping it in mind throughout the day helps. Would be interested to hear how this goes for you.

STFU is a tool that allows you breathing space when you're a newb Like a lot of beginners I originally was like "STFU, yayaya I get it, how about the cool stuff" but have since realized how right you are. I gave an example of a needless, bickering fight between my wife and I where, in the middle, I was like "oh ya - STFU!" It wasn't a silver bullet. I didn't thread it with other more advanced tactics. She didn't say "wow, how masculine of you" and give me a blowjob on the spot. But I gave myself…

When I started RP 7 years ago after breaking up with a chick I did all the research in the fucking world. I planned, planned, and planned where I'd be in my "journey" every step of the way. Kind of got lost and wasn't sure where I "was" for a while. What was my SMV this morning!? Just did the work anyways. Need an update here on the convo. Also, I'm new here, so take it with a grain of salt, but... It's obvious that OI is sexy, but if you feel the need to do it for validation or feel-goodz then it's the opposite of OI. I made a comment yesterday that I realized I was congratulating myself on holding frame in a conversation and wondered how much more it would make her want to fuck me... which sounds a lot like depending on an outcome. I started doing this a couple weeks ago and it works like a charm. I STFU, smrik and stare, and she realizes she's just Robo-talking talking into the void. She gets really embarrassed and I help her rephrase. (Not sure about the prevailing opinion on rephrases, only that they follow a STFU that brings her defenses down)

It should also make you realize that "boundaries" you think you are setting after a couple months of lifting and reading are most often futile attempts to prove yourself something, since your wife clearly isn't even paying attention. I recently maintained frame in a conversation I normally wouldn't have. It felt great. Then I realized exactly what you said. I was jacking myself off by calculating how many blowjobs me LARPing a frame I read about online equates to. Only a couple weeks in but tryi…

And you may find that your wife is not just OK with it, she expects it and would find it incongruent if you weren't having side pieces. As men, we're programmed to see a marriage through a romantic lens. Women see it through much more pragmatic lens. Programming is correct. Generally: ... Men have more of a problem with a woman cheating physically rather than emotionally (providing for someone else's child). ... Women have more of a problem with a man cheating emotionally rather than physical (l…

Thanks, I'm working really hard on that. I've gotten a wide variety of feedback from the post (you mentioned anlyzing it, others not analyzing it at all?) but I'm really sticking with going deeper into the "why" here. I've obviously told myself "dude, you should definitely stop drinking" over and over again over the last year when I'm hammered at 6 pm every day, so working on why saying "dude, you should definitely stop drinking" is going to work this time. This reminds me of listening to Loveline growing up. A dude would call in with a 5-minute sob story and then ask for advice. First question Adam and Dr Drew always asked was "do you guys have kids?" If the answer was yes, it was "jeez, this is going to be tough, let's talk about it..." If the answer was no, it was "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING JUST FUCKING LEAVE YOU'LL BE FINE YOU'RE A DUDE"

I'm staying up late tonight to finish NMMNG because, after I finished 50% of it a couple of weeks ago, I gave myself a hard deadline of last night (Monday) to finish. I changed "read more" to "1 book/week" and... hey... I'm up right now, so so far so good?

Hell yea we can son. Let’s blow some shit up if we have to. My Dad and uncles would take all the males out camping once/year growing up. There was a rock quarry nearby and we'd set up targets and unload with .22's, pistols, and even an AK. I have ~50% hearing loss in my left ear because I shot a .44 right while standing right next to a rock wall like a fucking idiot. I appreciate your continued follow-up. It means a lot to me. I have been journaling quite a bit about alcoholism and my need to drink and why. Sobriety being boring was definitely a common theme so interesting you mentioned that, as well as running away from problems rather than doing the work to confront them. I found MRP in March of 2019, and similar to my first encounter with TRP, the cheat code to life had been presented to me in an easily accessible, actionable manner and all I had to do was reach out and take it. Just want to chime in that I’ve had elbow and shoulder issues and, if you don’t give them the proper attention, can become a chronic, limiting problem. What worked for me was doing light hamer curls at the beginning of every workout.
