I hadn't heard him talk about that. Is it defense or sympathy? You can be involuntarily celibate, but the insinuation with that stereotype is that they blame women for their state. As far as I can tell, his position with men is more alpng the lines of "man up." I can see him being sympathetic, but I can't see him defending their attitude.

100% in this camp. What is it with men supporting the farthest extremes of feminism? Are there gender imbalances that favor males? Sure. Do I need to listen, accept, nod, agree and apologize every time a woman opens her face hole? Please. Get outta here.

That last part. If we could run around reddit and beat the shit out of every early-twenties out there until they listened and acted on it, we would. 10% aside feels like nothing after the first month or so, and then later on, fuck you money abounds. Awesome thread.

Fantastic work on the weight loss - keep it up. Use all that protein to build muscle. Get in the gym, look awkward for a few weeks, get over it, and turn it into a habit.

Well done. That's really drastic and not very common. What did you do to get there?

....the side of the browser window. It has reference material like getting started on improving yourself, stories about others who pulled themselves out of their position, and staying in the right frame of mind.

Losing weight and gaining muscle also comes with having more confidence in yourself. At the end of the day that's what's attractive. Don't complain about something you haven't tried or started.

Yes. You should have started years ago. But you didn't, so start now. Stop whining about your situation and do something about it. Start focusing on yourself. What other people think is distracting. Stop looking for validation, it's obnoxious and really undignified.

Agreed. We can always use more success stories.

You sound like you're trying to keep it neutral/PC to be polite, but she should have gotten on and let nature take its course. Ideally with a waiver involved somehow so the company doesn't get sacrificed for having contributed positively to the gene pool. I've never encountered entitlement like this in real life; the stories I read about are so baffling to me. Assuming any of them are true, this nonsense just needs to stop. Literally die off.

You're saying a lot there, and I don't want to get too far off topic because this really is worth discussing. I don't think we need protections as you said. I think that's OP's original point - we need to learn to say no for ourselves, WITH the understanding that sometimes you just can't. I have no problem putting in extra time when it calls for it - that's what I signed up for. Anything after the first year of white collar work, nobody should act surprised that this happens. Working late certai…

My assessment? It's a longer story that takes the convo even more off topic. 50% of the reason: he cares because he wants to show that the department participates in company activities, and we're a fun group blah blah. Absolute hypocrisy, but that's the answer he would have given if I had asked. The other 50%: he's probably is just a guy who didn't want to hear the bitching. Easier to have ordered me around than continue to hear whining about people who didn't want to participate.

100% this. Framing it as a question is just a way of being courteous while giving orders. Similarly, you saying "yes" when you're not allowed to say "no" gives them peace of mind that you willingly acquiesced. Win-win! For them. Stupid story time? Stupid story time. The admin assistant women are always trying to get me to captain their 5k team runs or walking challenges or biggest loser competitions for the company. They're nice enough to open the convo with "Would you like to--" and I half-joki…

Thanks for this. Great post. Can you talk mkre about (maybe this is a whole new post in itself) weight loss while trying to gain muscle? Are the two goals at odds with each other? Is it possible to do, but an extremely delicate balance? Or should we all be trying to do both as a standard practice?

I'm around 20% and feel like a complete fatass. I come here to hear hard truths and I don't want anyone pulling punches. I think at 20% things are already out of control. (Obviously that has to take trend into context too - if you spent the last decade at 25-30% then 20 is great). For men, iirc below 10% is the danger zone, I told myself 15% is where I want to be.

I moved from 100% sedentary to very active as well, but my T hardly increased. We looked at iodine and vitamin D levels, both of which apparently affect and are affected by your T-count. The point is there are still other factors at play; your doctor will have to advise you on next steps before you get to your conclusion.

What difference between actor and director? I think he's trying to draw a distinction between getting a subjective/emotional answer from the questioning, and an objective/rational one. Or more specifically, that we can get or should look for an objective one. He's going from "we need to self-assess" to "this is how I self-assess" in a single post, but you're absolutely right that most people haven't gotten to step 1 as yet.

Good on you, brother. Glad to know you didn't get consumed with bitterness or depression. But that said, for sure get that rage fuck going. Own your destiny. Welcome THEM to the red pill.

3.1 here. It's only a life commitment if you agree to let it be that way. Anger is passion, and it's not a bad thing. When you're ready to be done being angry, people will stare in awe of your discipline and ability to self improve.

Would be interesting to poll where everyone is. It might expose where there's a big gap/heavy drop off, and show where a majority of people here need more help.

Seriously, if that's not like 3/4 of the people I work with.... Anyway yes. Excellent use of metaphor.

There's pillow talk and then there's fawning over her like a 13 year old boy who just got his pubes. Figure out where in that spectrum between those two you want to be. You can be sincere without looking like you've never seen a woman naked before. Is she beautiful? Sure. Does that mean your tongue falls out of your head and you can't keep composure any time she show skin? Absolutely not. Keep your wits about you.

Wait what? As a reply? Why indulge such an asinine conversation? And that response establishes her in the driver's seat. Even if you don't mean it, you saying it puts her head in that space. What could possibly be a beneficial outcome by saying that? Sorry, no. A woman isn't allowed to think that she has that kind of control over me.

Nobody wants to be associated with stupid people, but I don't think high intelligence attracts women. At ALL, actually. And as a matter of fact I'd go so far as to say you can be funny and very witty, yet still dumb as rocks.

Not to get too far off topic but yeah, was so excited to see him perform last year. He was funny for sure, but definitely on the other side of his prime time.

you can't negotiate honesty and fidelity. I red "you can't negotiate attraction" earlier last week which might be slightly more elegant. TRP is hard to swallow but it's helped me shift away from emotional and more into the logical headspace. Good story.
