As a married guy I have seen it way more that a shithead knocks up a woman and leaves them high and dry. Also, your divorce rates and court shit doesn't touch on 50% of men actively do not seek any guadianship by choice. It is a reference to the Civil Rights movement in the 1960s. I don't know what your source you're looking for, it is a common colloquialism. It is the common response throughout the Civil Rights movement that the black population should sit down and accept how bad it is, under the guise that it could be worse, and it has been perpetuated through the 80s/90s, and again during the Black Lives Matter movement.
