I personally do not find that it makes me sweat, because there is a decent amount of cotton padding on top of the water resistant part. It feels kind of like a mattress topper! I wish I had a brand to recommend to you, but I've had mine since childhood so I don't know where my parents found it.

I use a water-resistant mattress pad under my sheets! Originally I started using one because my dog sleeps on my bed and I was worried he'd drool, but I've noticed it keeps my mattress pristine.

You may have tried this, but during the hotter months I use two sets of sheets and switch them out every day. One of them is on my bed, and the other is being aired out. I wash both sets once a week, and it seems to help calm the breakouts I get, but I don't know how well it would help with stains.

I'm not infertile, but I have endometriosis that spread to my stomach and intestines. Even having a period on birth control (let alone off birth control) gives me severe gastroparesis and bloody stools, so obviously I'm not planning on carrying a child. It doesn't actually bother me that much, but whenever someone asks about it, I shed some crocodile tears and explain, "Oh, my uterine lining spread through my body and paralyzed my stomach. I'll never be able to have children, even though I want …

Consensual commercial porn is literally impossible. True consent is retractable, which means that we can say "no" at any time during the act and have it stop, with no negative consequences. Women in porn can't stop in the middle of the scene without losing their pay at best, or being forced to continue and abused at worst. Paid pornography is rape on camera.

I hope this isn't too personal a question, but where do you usually draw the line as far as kinky sex goes? I feel like kinky can describe anything from a blindfold to physical abuse, and it's awful how many men assume it's always the latter.

My mother taught me that the safest option is to pretend you're taken. I have a male friend who will pick up the phone and pretend to be my boyfriend if a guy is harassing me. It's awful, but men respect another man's "claim" over us more than they respect us as people.

Sweet Jesus, that's nasty. I have chronic GI issues, and the subject of vomit and bowel movements are restricted to medical professionals, my parents, and my one female friend who has a similar illness. I can't imagine telling someone I'm dating about it except my brief, "I have a chronic illness and it occasionally keeps me home."

These are fantastic! All of these are now on my list, plus a few more: I refuse to tolerate a man pushing my consent in any way. Asking me for a sex act (including nudes) more than once is an instant deal-breaker. I refuse to tolerate a partner raising his voice at me in anger. I refuse to tolerate anyone who says "I hate children" or "I hate dogs/cats/animals". I refuse to tolerate drug abuse, including binge-drinking, smoking, or using medications in a way they aren't intended to be used.

I have a genuine question: do y'all vacuum every day? I sweep and mop my tile floors most days, but I only vacuum my carpeted spaces once a week. I don't wear shoes in my apartment, and I don't notice dirt, but should I be vacuuming more often?

That's not the point. There are so many reasons a woman wouldn't be able to do repairs herself: she's disabled, her landlord doesn't allow it, it requires specialized tools, it's too complex a repair to learn when she works full time, etc. Women deserve to use the same services that men do without fearing for their safety.

if you feel ashamed to tell others how he treated you 🚩 Wow, this hit me hard. I wish I could go back in time to tell my past self that she should never be ashamed to tell her friends about something a boy did. This might be the biggest internal red flag for me....I will need to keep it in mind.

Shit, I am so sorry. I hope your court case goes well and you come out with every legal and financial advantage you can get. Then you can delete everything in celebration!

I found a lot of advantages in getting rid of one item first (physical reminders of him) and then realizing that I didn't miss them at all! The rest was much easier once I realized that I did not need these things.

My best girl-friend helped me along with celebratory texts and the lovely reminder that touching the relics of my failed relationship doesn't make me happy....really what's the point in keeping them? I haven't even looked at anything but the music in months. That was hard to let go...but I have friends who would compose better for me if I asked :)

Marrying Prince Friedrich would have set Daphne and her entire family up for life. I understand that she wasn't attracted to him...but damn girl you don't have any human rights or even many options...be sensible!

This is so lovely! Time investments are just as important as money investments to me, so I would love to get origami flowers if real ones weren't an option.
