Children are at the highest risk of being murdered by their own parents. By that logic, children are being raised by their natural predators. Are mothers inherently predatory?

Is “the power” more of a sativa or a hybrid?

I provide for my family right now, my SO stays home with our daughter while I’m at work, and I could not care less what anyone thinks about my kitchen table covered in laundry or the fact that I work six days a week. He’s a fantastic dad and he never got to stay home with either of my older kids when they were young like I did. I love the bond they have, and I like working nights and have the days with my family. I wish less people felt like they needed to conform to what society said their fami…

I’m a bartender; and I absolutely agree that if you can’t manage to at least be basically courteous and welcoming, you should not be behind the bar or serving tables. That said, one time I was explaining to a bartender I was training our restaurant’s food allergy procedure, and I must have looked serious or something because a guest shouted over to us, “Hey, girls! Wouldn’t hurt to smile more!” I said, “Absolutely!” And then in the most saccharine sweet, bubbly voice ever, I explained the allerg…

Customer service and front of house restaurant jobs are traditionally female dominant fields, though, as the prerequisites of being cheerful and accommodating are typical viewed as feminine traits. This would hold more weight with me if the blue collar jobs he was trying to get were construction or landscaping.

Every comment that you write on this sub, I feel like, “Damn, yes, this person said it exactly!” Thanks for yet another well written, articulate response.

That’s so shitty and abusive of those women! I know you referred to them as girls, but I feel like the childlike status that we give to adult women who really should know better isn’t very accurate. These women abused their power as members of a class whose rights are prioritized above the rights of men to ruin your day out of meanness and spite. I’m sorry you had to deal with those selfish and narcissistic b*txhes.

I’ll probably get downvoted for this but I think you’re right; for most women it is about safety concerns, but that still doesn’t make it the onus of mankind to assuage every feeling of concern that women have - it’s on men not to actually endanger them. I was robbed violently once, and afterwards I was afraid of being hurt again, and it made me hyper aware of of anyone or any group that could potentially hurt me. I got a big dog to take hiking with me, a gun for my house, and learned some basic…

I worked as a legal assistant in a family law office in the US, and it’s really common for kids to ask to live with their dads even if custody is awarded to the mother, and once they’re considered old enough to advocate for themselves, most courts will let them decide and allow them to live with the parent of their choosing, say around age 13 or so, or employ a Guardian Ad Litem to represent the child and revisit custody, at the least. Don’t give up hope! Additionally, many mothers lose custody …

If I have to perform some physically demanding task, like saving a man or a woman from drowning, I’m picking saving the woman only because I’m not a big person and I’d probably end up drowning the man and myself trying to save him

The inherent dangerousness/ propensity for violence that’s lurking latently in their self conscious. It’s absolutely as dehumanizing as any stereotype laid on women as a whole, or more so. It’s also highly hypocritical because the social problems that women usually have (being too agreeable and not negotiating harder at work for better compensation, demanding to be financially provided by simply because one is a woman) are always judged to be the fault of a patriarchal society, not the individua…

Men’s drink orders: “Can I get a bud light?” “Can I get a makers mark on the rocks?” Women’s drink orders: “Could you make me something fruity but like not too sweet? And like low calorie? Do you remember that drink you had before that was, like, blue?” “Do you have vegan wine? Omg the price of this Kim Crawford is outrageous! I could get this whole bottle for the price of a glass from the liquor store!” Also- The amount of times that I’ve overheard some girlfriend or wife insulted that the guy …

I’m sure most people have a favorable bias for women, but myself and my fellow bartenders definitely don’t. I could write a book about all the reasons I’d rather wait on men than women.

I have literally never understood this. It’s hard enough living with one person forever and raising kids, my SO and I just play to each other’s strengths, instead of creating these battles to be fought over and over and attributing fallacious malicious intentions to each other. For example I feel like the house should be vacuumed more than my partner does, so I usually just am the one that vacuums, or if I want him to, I ask him and however he does it is fine. On the other side of things, he thi…

Many times suicide survivors don’t reattempt because they realized when they believed they would die that they truly wanted to live. I watched a documentary about the people who survived jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge to commit suicide, and most of them - while sincerely attempting and believing in the moment they wanted to die - regretted it as soon as they jumped.

Men and women can both be naturally intuitive care givers, but also a lot of us learn to be effective care givers by spending a lot of time caring for children and learning on the fly. My SO and I have a two-year-old daughter, and for the first year of her life he was working a lot, while I stayed home for the first ten months. Then we transitioned into me picking up gradually more and more hours back at my job, and him staying home. At first he wasn’t naturally adept at taking care of a one yea…

I’m a bartender and one of my coworkers is an IT guy that makes over 100k a year and has been working remotely, and solely applied for a bartending job just to get out and be social and meet women in real life even though he didn’t need the money. He said dating apps never worked for him either, but I watch women hit on him every time we work together! Dating apps are weird and it’s too bad we’re so isolated as a society now that it’s hard to have spontaneous, casual social interactions in perso…
