That's terrible logic, which is pretty standard for most PPD opinions.

I think you may need to take a more active approach and, well, approach. Definitely this advice applies to both men and women.

Oh I don't doubt that in the slightest. People are people, and people can be both good, bad, or somewhere in between. I just see a huge risk with no benefit. I shouldn't need the government involved in my love life anyways.

My mother is currently going through her 5th divorce with my father being husband number four. When she first divorced my father she said he was being a terrible person and was sick in the head and the same thing is happening with her current divorce. Despite me seeing no significant issues with the man. She is never taken accountability and always seems to be portraying herself as the victim in all of this. I've taken her as a great example why I should never get married. I'm certainly happy wi…

You can't control the actions of other people, but you can control your own. Irresponsible people will always be irresponsible I don't think it is logical that those people will become responsible just cause someone tells them too. Should they take responsibility? Yes. Will they? Likely not. People should understand this and act accordingly.

To live a comfortable life and be able to actually retire. Also, the odds improve when you listen to the smart people that give the advice you need to succeed. And so what if the odds are against me on that? I'm in a better position financially compared to a good chunk of the people around me. I still have a long way to go, but what I am doing is definitely working and I'm gonna keep learning from those way smarter than me.

No, child support is meant to uphold the parent's responsibility to support the child. In terms of a financial abortion, the biological father would be relinquishing all rights and responsibilities as a parent for the yet to be born child. You're trying to stretch my argument into "paying child support is bonding with said child" when that is none of what I said.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/21 07:07 PM
1

Then just add a clause that states if the father decides to form a connection with the child in a parental fashion, then the financial abortion becomes null and you owe the mother back child support? That's fair.

It's funny how a buddy and I were discussing this subject last night. I think there are some potential benefits to this that people may not think about. For one, there are plenty of "deadbeat dads" that were basically forced into being a parent despite not wanting to at all. In spite, they just up and leave, resulting in single parent households which can psychological effects on the kid. If men could get financial abortions, I think that women who get pregnant and have a child against the wishe…
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/21 11:42 AM

If that's the case, why isn't the child support system that is in place better? The guy basically just gives the woman money in hopes that she uses that money solely for the purpose of the child's wellbeing. That check could easily be spent on shoes, lottery tickets, etc.

I don't get it. I only see women online say that men are intimidated by successful women. Honestly, I'd be totally happy with a woman that makes their own money vs someone that expects me to take care of all their financial woes. I'm pretty sure a lot of guys feel the same way.

It very much is. Cohabitation is also a huge risk here because you can be considered after a certain amount of time. I've also heard that Canada's take on cohabitation is even crazier. I also agree that prenups are an absolute must nowadays. If a partner refuses in any way to sign them, it's clear that they aren't right to marry in any fashion.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/20 11:41 PM
11

Tax benefits are easily outweighed by divorce, which happens to nearly 50% of all marriages and easily screws over whoever had brought more to the relationship prior to divorce. And it's pretty easy to divorce nowadays, so what's to say the marriage is gonna last forever? It is very likely that it will not.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/20 11:06 PM

I mean, you can grow old with someone and spend the rest of your life with them without being married, so I don't understand the actual incentive to get married.

It's no secret that the government needs new workers. Of course they will do the bare minimum they can to support them and try to put the burden on random blokes. There need to be restrictions on single mothers, like you can't get welfare as a single mom unless you get your tubes tied after X amount of kids. It would also be good to have mandatory dna testing for live births to reduce the costs the taxpayers and government have to shoulder to support single mothers.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/09/20 04:35 PM
1

I mean, that scenario you describe in your first sentence is so rare. You'd have to be making very good money as well as having enough time at home to be able to provide enough for your kid on your own. Having supportive family is fine, but you can't expect to have them raise the kid for you, thus shouldering what should be your responsibility as a parent. And I agree with everything you say in your last paragraph. Most single parents are through choice and irresponsible decisions that they expe…
/r/PurplePillDebate09/09/20 04:24 PM
1

Sure, I don't think all single parents are terrible people, especially those that are the result of the death of their partner. However, a single parent household is not ideal for the kid and is more likely to negatively impact the child as opposed to a two parent household. Also, I agree with the annoying hypocrisy of people claiming to not do things because religion but then they break other religious tenants.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/09/20 12:50 PM
4

And the responsible thing to do would be to not have and raise a kid as a single parent.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/09/20 05:03 AM
4

Tell that to the kids that get upset they don't have a mom or dad and takes their anger out by carjacking.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/09/20 04:58 AM
5

Yes, women (and men) can raise children on their own. Doesn't mean they should. A lot of kids in single parent households end up messed up due to the lack of one of the parents, moreso compared to kids raised by two parents. It's terrible depriving the child of a proper upbringing.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/09/20 04:34 AM
4

People are demanding equality, so screw traditional social norms that go against equality.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/20 08:54 PM

So what traditions would be brought back? Only the ones that benefit women?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/20 08:51 PM

I guess women view men's time as less valuable then the woman's and thus believe he should "pay for her time". Honestly, that just sounds like some narcissistic bull I'd rather not deal with. If the person I go on a date with doesn't do Dutch the first date and then we take turns paying or something, I'm not interested.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/20 08:48 PM

Reposting my old post here. I think this is where it is meant to go? All I can say on this topic is that I'm not gonna follow traditional roles as a man. It's time to change the expectations that women have for men in terms of following gender roles.

/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/20 03:35 PM

Just cause 50% of the marriages stay together does not mean that 100% of them are happy. However, I do agree with you about how many people on both sides are viewing the world through super extremist lenses most of the time. The stuff regarding marriage being a horrible deal for men is definitely not extremist.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/20 05:33 PM

There's certainly a lot of guys these days that haven't experienced romantic love. It's these people that have to learn to love being on their own and learn to love them, especially since they know the chances of someone loving them like they would want are slim.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/20 11:33 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/20 11:56 PM

All I'm seeing is a character attack from someone who is making a lot of assumptions about me based on two sentences, so a majority of your post I won't respond to because you decided I'm some selfish a-hole. Vasectomies can be reversed, but there is a good chance it will severely impact the chances of having a child when a man chooses a point to do so in his life. I also find it funny how you then go on some tirade about "unpaid work". Anyone who stays home (regardless of gender) while the othe…

Let the mother support the child herself if she wants it so badly? That's always an option.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/20 12:49 AM

What you're speaking of is the idea of a financial abortion. Sadly, that option isnt something every man can do. Honestly, if every man could have a financial abortion, the single mother rates would go down since a good amount of single mothers are women who tried to lock down a guy with money against his wishes.

New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, North Carolina, West Virginia, Florida, and Oregon also have permanent alimony. You haven't answered my question as to how anything I've listed off is fine as it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/20 12:35 PM
2

How are they fine? Men lose 50% of what they have + alimony in divorce. Prenups can easily be thrown out in court. In California, if you are married for 10 years, you pay alimony FOR THE REST OF YOUR LiFE. How is any of this okay? Probably start by fixing marriage and divorce laws so men don't get absolutely destroyed from divorce?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/20 11:13 PM

People can do what they want, but that doesn't mean they are free from any criticism.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/20 11:31 PM
4

The odds of experiencing "real love" seem way too slim. Marriages have a 50% divorce rate and I'm sure there are a quite few marriages that continue on despite both partners being unhappy due to certain circumstances (ex. Staying together for the kids). Why go through risking all that when I can focus on learning to love and improve myself?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/20 06:39 PM
3

Yeah, although the child surely needs another parent. Government money is not a substitute for a parent.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/20 10:17 PM

Honestly, people should be trying to self improve for their own sake. I try to better myself a little each and every day.

/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/20 03:11 AM

Or that women never marry down? They almost always tend to marry up, thus they are almost never at risk when they marry.

Going by OP's limitations of what the term "sex worker" refers to, yes. And we should stop using a term since these "sex workers" aren't providing actual sex like the name implies.

Work requires more than just a modicum of effort/labor and time. Setting up an online account and taking a couple pictures is nothing. I have more respect for a person working at a fast food place than a so called "sex worker". Well when you think about it, all Fiat currency is just made up currency and a lot of Fiat currencies these days don't even have gold backing them. It also dies the second the power goes out or there's a minor burp in a router. This would only happen if all the computers in the world were destroyed/hit with an EMP. Nothing happens if there is a "there's a minor burp in a router". When a flu that makes you g…

Yes she can, did you not scroll down? She can name any guy as the father and serve them papers. If he doesn't respond against the papers in time, he's legally declared the father and is liable for child support. There's only a small window of time for a man to do this.

You're right. She can't do that, out she can name the father and the court can still claim the guy is legally the father even if he isn't biologically and didn't sign the certificate. https://cssd.lacounty.gov/establishing-paternity/

Well, most places only give the man a short window of time to actually refute being the father after the mother has put their name on the birth certificate. After that time, even if he asked for a DNA test, he's on the hook for child support. As a specific example, California only gives a guy 2 years after the kid is born to prove he isn't the father, otherwise he's liable to pay child support.

Yeah, and any guy who's name the mother puts down could easily be made to be financially responsible for the child if she just doesn't tell the guy for two years and then demands child support from him. Biology doesn't matter in the court. And a woman should not be able to control the rest of man's life so easily. What about his autonomy? Honestly, I can see why a lot of guys are really crazy for sexbots. An easy condom hole poke and their life is ruined.

Yes the child would have a biological father, but with a financial abortion, he would not be considered the father legally and not be obligated to pay for their upbringing. There are easy ways people who aren't the biological father can be made to pay child support.

Personally, women should be able to have the choice of having an abortion and men should be able to opt out of financial responsibility for the child by forfeiting all access to the child. If the man does decide to change his mind down the road, then they should have to back pay child support.

At the end of the OP, they also said to never let any guy you have a relationship (even your husband) know about your finances. It really is a "what's mine is mine and what's yours is also mine" way of thinking they have.

The value comes from people deciding that it has value and using it as an acceptable form of currency. Unlike Fiat, you can send Bitcoin to anyone around in the world in a very short amount of time. Also, you basically become your own banker as only YOU have control over your money, with no banks/government to be in control of it.

All you do is talk so vague, not even willing to just say what the lie/truth is, and just expect people to automatically fall in line with your thinking. You could just link something as to why my thinking is wrong, but you just say "yeah I could tell you why you're wrong, but I won't even try". I keep giving you chances but you just want to call me "sad" for not taking your word (or lack there of) as fact. Glad you are willing to shut up since you aren't putting effort. This conversation itself…

So then marriage is bad for men cause they get screwed over in divorce? You're kind of supporting my view at this point and not making a good case for marriage. You haven't said even one reason why it is good for men. Men just lose half their stuff and pay alimony/child support cause of the high divorce rate. And maybe men don't divorce cause maybe they try to make things work out and not just cause they are cheaters who don't care. Where is the lie that the "manosphere" perpetuates? You haven't…

Just because your divorce wasnt as bad doesn't mean that isn't the case for the MAJORITY. Can you disprove the myth with studies and statistics? You keep saying that it's all a lie and you don't back it up with sources. Divorce is harmful to women? So they why do you see so many women initiating divorces? Also, no guy plans to divorce, most don't expect it. But it happens and they aren't prepared with prenups.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/19 10:12 PM

So clearly the divorce rate is a lie and men don't lose 50% of their assets in divorce? Clearly all the facts and stories are bullshit? You aren't even trying to argue why these facts aren't true or why guys should get married in spite of these facts. I hope you are one of the lucky few that has a successful marriage and doesn't suffer like a lot of married/previously married men. But as I said, theres only a small fraction of marriages today that turn out very well and don't lead to divorce. So…

Well, you certainly aren't going to force men to do what they don't want to do. Taking away porn isn't going to change their minds. No reason for a guy to marry nowadays when he could lose everything due to the messed up court system. Many men are also afraid of being #metoo'd and have their entire lives destroyed. Why should men take these risks when there is little to no benefits to them?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/19 07:03 PM
2

Nope, porn should stay legal. Also, stop blaming men for the way things are. All it sounds like you are saying is just to "man up". Maybe some guys don't want to "man up" and accept how things are?

Harder for average looking guy to get a date and thus has to put much more effort than ever before due to overinflated standards. Half the time the guy is just being used as a free meal ticket
