I mean gender roles surely play a big part in this, but now it's the question if "gender roles" in general are still needed/useful. In my opinion the answer is that they are but that's just my opinion.

Of course not. I agree it's cruel to force men to stay and ppl who wanna go out of the country should be able to. My original point tho was that many of ukrainian men are fighting willingly to protect their families. I remember i saw a statistics a long time ago that where question was "would u fight for your country?". While most western countries were around 20-30% yes many mid-eastern countries were around 40-60%. Ofc there's a difference between answering a question and actually taking part …

I don't know how it is in Your country but where i live women can get drafted too. In fact to do different jobs for example for medical help, but still. I believe that men and women should have different responsibilities. I can see what your point is coming from tho. There are countless examples of misandry on the internet and I 100% think it should change too

I wouldn't say they are dying for "western society". I'd say they are dying to protect their families from murder and ra*e. I know it's crazy right? To think that a family is the base of society
