Owen had been saying for years he wanted to transition away from pickup because he didn't want to be a PUA while raising his sons. Also some PUA documentary came came out a couple years back that put the whole pickup industry in a bad light, so people think that was a motivator for RSD dissolving. There might be some other stuff too, but that was as deep as I looked into it.

You're right, it's a nuanced issue, and that's why it's such a good marketing tactic for self-help companies. I'm sure MLMs have worked for some people too; doesn't necessarily mean it's a great route to go (though if I had to weigh in, RSD methods hold up better under scrutiny than MLM methods).

RSD used one of the tactics that MLMs use: they marketed their methods as foolproof, and if those methods weren't working for you? Well there's nothing wrong with the methods, surely not! You just didn't work hard enough. To be fair I saw some success after learning from these guys, so I can't completely trash them. But when I wasn't getting good results, I chalked it up to my own laziness and beat myself up over it. That shit was like a religion. It wasn't healthy.

Glad to help! I've never used that as an opener, but it's worth a shot. The close sounds solid. Though I will say that game kinda goes better if you improvise and bumble through the first three questions; it makes it more believable that you forget how many you did when you get to the fourth.

The first three questions are whatever you want, the fourth one is "Wait, how many was that?", and the fifth one (if you get to it) is "Dammit! Have you played this before?"

I think the fact I went up to her and said what I wanted to say is as Alpha as it gets and if she took it the wrong way that's on her. So, if we started with the question: I would love to get over it and not take it personally but its difficult. Any advice? Then, problem solved?
