Same, I ended up with someone totally opposite from myself and didn’t at all expect to be attracted to, and not by any means the most attractive out there. He just fell into my lap. He’s 1.5 inches shorter than me, big beer gut (although we are both on a weight loss journey right now) and losing his hair. He’s actually younger than me by 6 months, which I also usually never go for. But he’s the yin to my yang, the gut-busting funny to my serious, the impulsive to my reserved, and we have taught …

If you lean into the “I’m more interested in real life and experiences than social media” you will attract someone who feels the same or at least respects your views, assuming you’re still putting yourself out there.

Oh yeah, true, 180s are always possible but no no no. Cold approaches are the absolute worst for people with low dating confidence, the sheer amount of rejection is a recipe for regression. Also, girls and women are literally trained to be afraid of men on the street, no matter how nice he is, even worse if he’s older. It will usually seem like he got an ulterior motive because of the age gap, assuming he’s approaching younger than himself. You’ll get a lot of pretend interest and no texts/calls…

I’m sorry but if you changed your wording you would be taken much more seriously and people would have a better feel for what you’re trying to get across. Like instead of saying “it’s your job to make them interesting” I think you really mean to say “how can you really make the judgement call on a lady without getting to know her thoroughly?” What you’re really talking about is trying to get the other person to talk about themselves as if they find themselves interesting even when they might not…

I am a woman and I plan all of the dates that my man and I go on, we have been together for 5 years, he is just shit at setting up fun dates. Super fun to go with though, and we have a great time. So I’m sorry, but you’re wrong. Not all women are the same, some women are good at bringing guys out of their shells.

99.9% of women will disagree.

A lot of women get with the chads because our hormones suck and sometimes they tell us to want something that’s bad for us. But once we reach a certain age we kick their asses (the hormones, that is) and tell them that shit only comes with pain and we could have been dating much cooler and way more decent guys a long ass time ago.

Random tip from a girl here: if you happen to be talking to a girl that you like and she seems interested, try to spend a good several minutes on that topic and when the topic gets a bit stale try to segway into something related and see if she follows you. If she’s still with you a few jumps later, then she will definitely feel like you have a lot in common, or at least a lot to talk about. Bonus points for being witty/ making her laugh. Also, built in bonus, it won’t be perceived as creepy if …

As a woman, can confirm that it feels like a much safer place to be introduced to someone when lots of friends are around. Are any of your friends that you go out with regularly a good wingman? Also, have you asked them their honest opinions as to why they think you get less attention? If they are usually around you, they can typically tell.

No problem! Yeah, sending quirky pictures is ingredient number one to a healthy friendship lol.

Just a helpful girl’s insight here: When a girl is just starting to get the butterflies in her tummy for a guy, she starts to care a lot about what he will think of her. This is a pretty normal response, and she will likely try her best to display her best qualities while subtly trying to hide the parts of herself she likes the least. So maybe she has something going on that she’s not loving, like a chipped tooth or mask acne ruining her week. Who knows, she might think she’s straight up ugly an…
