Definitely grab one of the hiking maps. There are a lot of good trails. I recommend driving up to glacier point and hiking the panorama trail down to the valley floor. Or you can do what I did and take the "4 miles" trail up and then take the panorama down. There's a free shuttle system in the park that goes all over the valley but I didn't use it (way too crowded). Bring lots of sunscreen and bugspray. Depends I guess the trail takes about 6 hours each way, this was about halfway I'd say like 3-4 hours depending if you start at the bottom or top
