I do not think the tests should be mandatory per default. Offered, sure! but there are men out there who do not want paternity challenged. Make the process easy and an Opt - in. If its automated and online, any demand for child support should automatically check for such a process and if its on-going any and all child support payments are suspended until results are in. It will never be a default criminal offense to pick the wrong guy - a paternity test does not speak to intent. And if you canno…

I can tell you that being able to witness bullying, shaming and ridiculing of others, and do nothing is not a gender thing, but a character thing. ALL of these women were made smaller by the professors behaviour and his quest for karma points, and none of the girls in the class apparently had the character to refuse to go along with what was happening. Thats a shame. It would have been very satisfying if one of them had said: "Its really strange to witness your misandry on display for what? Appr…

Pcos, Endometriosis and all the neurological things that happen during menopause have been notoriously difficult to find treatment for, let alone someone to diagnose. But, if you have a diagnosis, you'd never find yourself in my husbands situation, if you are a woman. It would be completely fine to say you wanted a tumor removed or treated because of esthetics, or issues with hoarseness and swallowing. No doctor in their right mind would argue it was no big deal, and if then they met resistance,…

I experienced my husband being put at the back of the line with a tumor he had on his thyroid because he was male and possibly because we didnt have kids. We live ina country with universal healthcare, but the system is overloaded by chronic lifestyle problems and lack of funding and nurses. I went to the hospital with him and had a full on argument with his doctor after I had sat listening to her dismissing my husbands concerns and I insisted he be moved from endocrinology to surgical - because…

Dont go into a marriage with the idea its on you, to make her happy. That happiness is created together, and hopefully as a consequence of choosing one another every day. Its not a commodity. Its not a transaction. Its not that you do this, so I get that... - as soon as that happens, you've killed it. LOVE DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY! Im a woman. Ive been married for 22 yrs - and we are happy together. Its gotten better and better and honestly I think I'd refuse the lifeboat and go down with him, if …

I do think people genuinely believe that koreans casually use the N word. Because the word for you there (informal way of saying "you"), is very similar sounding to the N word.. and so suddenly you hear it directed at you.. on a bus or a train or even in person. And you might think, if you are a black person, or very racially sensitive for whatever reason, that someone just used the N word at you. But uhm, nope. Korea is a more conservative society, and has more traditonal gender roles than we s…

I agree with you. My lived experience is not that I am suffering in a male patriarchy or that men are useless. I find it offensive on so many levels that men some of whom I love, are portrayed more and more as though masculinity in itself is some kind of toxic black hole and that they are all potential rapists and murderers or just lying in wait to opress or use a woman, or that they are useless to us as emotional partners. I think it hurts all of us to reduce and other one half of us. All of us…

Speaking as a danish woman: That wont happen - 11 months of conscription vs 9 months pregnancy for a country where women already prefer to either not have any kids, or have them really late is not going to change the statistics. the conscription period used to be just 4 months, and when it was, 25% of the people were female who just chose to go. Being 11 months puts more of a dent into education plans etc, but so would a baby. I am quite certain we wont see an increase in baby mamas to avoid spe…

In all of scandi there are laws concerning paternity leave. Im not sure that men are "forced" to take the time of in my country - Denmark - but they absolutely have 2 weeks immediately after the birth, and then we have SHARED parental leave of 36 weeks iirc. Paternity leave for the father - 2 weeks after the birth. Parental leave for the mother - 9 weeks earmarked and 5 weeks transferable after the birth. This has got to be a troll! Noone should get this hung up about buying someone a coffee. Hell Ive bought people I wasnt even meeting for a date coffee just for forgetting their wallets. Its not like I make up stories about them loitering around the coffee shop looking for people to exploit. I think he has some stuff to offer, and gives attention to people who really need it. But he is a conservative christian (catholic?) man, and holds values that obviously will reflect in the things he says and the conclusions he draws. In my opinion you dont have to agree with everything someone says, in order to benefit from listening to what they have to say.

In some places in India you take your life in your hands using public transport as a woman. In some places in Japan and Korea there is a culture of upskirt photos and groping in public transport. On Escalators in some of these places there are even mirrors on the handrails to show you what someone behind you is doing, so you can spot someone trying to take upskirt photos. Its not insulting, its a direct response to whats taking place in those societies. I am certain that women in India and Japan…

Anorexia is an illness, that anyone can get. Your sister is an idiot. What she said was no different than: you cant get HIV from being raped, because men cant be raped. So, I think you really need to filter out the nonsense she says. Its not that she is a radical feminist. She is a radical ignorant asshole.. which, I suppose makes it a toss up of wether thats better or worse. But both should be avoided as much as possible.

Alot of women were banned or blocked from feminist subreddit during kia/gamergate. I dont know if those bans were ever lifted. But suffice to say, I dont want to waste my precious time on people who dont want to hear anything other than their own opinion parroted back at them. Its not uncommon for both sexes to be virgins well into their 20s, especially if they still live at home, which if you think about is much more common now than 25 years ago. Its one of the reasons virginity is higher in people under 24 now than amongst the gen x and early millenials at that age. "Globally, 38% of adults 18 to 24 are virgins. Asia-Pacific countries have the highest concentration of young adult virgins (84% in Malaysia and Singapore, 78% in Indonesia, 53% in Thailand, 47% in the P…

I dont know how someone can be a feminist and agree to those 3 bullet points. Feminism today is riddled with hate for men. Its not something a rational person can support without having serious cognitive biases that are unresolved and affecting their ability to draw conclusions and maintain perspective. The thing that makes Ripley iconic, is that she wasnt described to us as a woman first or mother first, or lover, wife or romantic partner. None of that factored in to building her character to us. She is in fact quite a non descript character to us, until the confrontation at the airlock, when Ash breaks the rules and allows the captain and crew back in, from their excursion to the derelict space craft without any isolation time. In other words; Ripley is a PERSON first and foremost. Her gend…

She is a 21 year old highly capable woman. That apparently, is not sufficient for people. She is being infantalised and belittled, disrespected, and to such an extent that people with their moralistic nonsense are basically claiming she doesnt get to chose her partner. She is not capable of that. She needs protection from her own empowered choices, such as her choice in a lover. I remember someone did this to Pugh when she started her relationship with that Scrubs guy.

The law is insanity. Hejsan I live in Sweden. What happened to taking sick days if cramps are so bad? Also, as someone who used to have massive cramps prior to changing diets, - its not 3 days for most women, its more like 1 day - and then its manageable. This seems like a rash and not very rational solution. So, lets say a woman has pcos or some other kind of condition that indeed does render periods extremely debilitating. You are exactly right. I do not automaticallly assume the accuser is the victim. Id always want to side with the victim, so the first course of action must be to establish which party that is, and to "believe all women", means you skip that part, which I think is a horrific point of view to have. Question your own bias, question the "evidence" and dont rush forth with "passionate intensity" until you know you're fighting for good. Thank you, for helping get my point across! :)

Im scandinavian and here its hardly ever done for non religeous reasons. Not like in america. We have never had the notion that it was more sanitary or whatever nonsense the US populace was fed. In general I find the double standard infuriating, - mostly because people skip past the basic principle, straig…

I guess it seemed you were saying they were the same, because, you wrote: Same as ? I get from your response to me that you simply meant same as; the intial issue for david was the botched cirumcision.

I may be wrong, but perhaps its a social issue in that genital mutilation is accepted as wrong for females but widely done to boys because its a completely normalised procedure, often vocated for by men themselves. Still, its an unessecary procedure done to infants or young children, without their consent, eventhough children in most other cases have recognised body autonomi within the healthcare system. As in; your mom cant go to a doctor and have him perform plastic surgery on your face becaus…

That is completely different. He was gender reasigned after the accident, there is no reason to believe this boy will have a fate similar to that, since his penis was reattached, and the story doesnt hint of any insane doctors or psychologists looking for specimens to perform social experiments on.

Its like logic and reason is a poisonous substance in that sub. I am so embaressed by these displays of complete lack of rational thinking. Insisting on the superiority of feelz over all else. Fuck. How can someone think like this, thoughts skating on the surface of any opposing view, and never really engaging to learn more than what your feelings tell you? I have never visited or posted on that sub, because honestly I thought it was one of the subs that just automatically banned you for posting…

I read the article twice and can not find the place where the girl recanted. I can see she claimed to never having had sex before the rape, but that actually she was being sexually assaulted the entire time by her step dad - as well and so this could also explain the signs of rape that got the officer convicted. But if the girl hasnt recanted, and still claims to have been raped by both men, - Im not sure I see the painfully obvious sign of injustice here, that the title seems to imply. The girl…

Ofcourse you shouldnt automatically believe accusers. If you want to help the victim you have to actually care enough about the facts to establish who the hell the victim is.

Women chose not only different careers than men but are more likely to take breaks in those careers to have babies fx. If one allows females are responsible for the subjects they choose to study at college, and are also responsible for chosing fx. gender studies over STEM fields their career options and future wages are then also direct results of their own life choices. So, men and women who work the same jobs, earn the same, but there are more men working higher paying jobs than there are wome…

I understand thats not your defination In my experience, as a woman, women hold significantly more power than men, in almost all aspects of life. They are also not reliant on meritocracy for many professional positions, and they are almost always dominating the family power structure which is often matriarchal, rather than patriarchal. I know people say the exact opposite, but, hello western europe and the US, have you spend thanksgiving or christmas with your family and been in doubt about who …

Men are treated as disposable assets in war, but the real victims, the ones truely inconvenienced by war and mayhem are the women. Afterall who wouldnt rather be shot dead or mutilated by shrapnel than having to raise the kids alone.

Government agencies should not have the power to force people away from perfectly fine jobs they enjoy, in order to pay child support. I also dont understand why any man has to pay for a child if he did not want that child. Women have reproductive rights, but we refuse them to men. Thats barbaric. Men should be able to say; look, its your body and your physical autonomi is sacrosaint, but I do not want this child. Im hereby signing away my parental rights and responsibilities, and you need to kn…
