I hate the idea of having to be grateful for something that I never asked for or wanted. Like here is this thing you don't actually want and now act like its the best thing you've ever received in your life. I would rather not be given anything. I think gifts or engagement rings or whatever should only be given when the giver has actually thought about the receiver, their likes, what would suit them, the meaning behind the gift etc.

Oh yeah like there are a lot of people who fetishise certain features that they deem exotic/ different and its just creepy and wrong.

The guys who are just after sex and nothing else won't get emotionally attached. The one's that want more will. But a lot of them wouldn't dare show their emotional attachment. Same applies to women really, though I think a lot of women get involved in casual sexual relationships saying that they don't want more but in fact they actually do. There are women who have casual sex without attachment but they have to really truly not want anything from that guy apart from sex.

On one hand you don't want a guy who is so bothered about their SO's physical attributes that its a fetish of some kind but on the other you do want them to be interested/attracted and appreciative of the things that make you unique. I do feel like people (not just guys) go for people who aren't actually their type and then constantly compare them to their type/what they're normally attracted to. In an effort to change or mould their SO into the image they want them to be. You should never want …

Yellow flag though I wouldn't doubt that he has tried that exact pick up line on a few girls recently just like a fishing trip he's throwing the same line out there knowing at least one girl might bite. Just be wary.

I never used to but my counsellor has been really pushing me to be honest with my feelings/intentions towards people both romantic and platonic. Its always made me feel very uncomfortable but that uncomfortable feeling is usually associated with the not feeling good enough part of my brain that I'm also working on lol .

He's delivering essential groceries to her probably because she can't leave her house. Is he supposed to let her starve? Delivering groceries to a person or family member in need is allowed in the UK, they're observing social distancing so no harm done. Though the police would probably tell him that he shouldn't hang around and sit about for a chat.

I've always struggled with telling people how I feel about them, do I interpret the first quote as I shouldn't tell guys that I like them? or is it just a case of the guy knew he was an LVM so when she admitted she liked him it reflected poorly on her choice/taste in men or her ability to filter out LVM?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/04/20 08:39 AM

I do agree with you on the not dating a guy cause you’ll think he’ll change because thats just wishful thinking a LVM is an LVM they’ll act right only when they want to
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/04/20 06:57 PM

I think in this instance potential probably means like you actually see a HVM and a potentially successful relationship

If we're going on a third date and we've been talking and things seem to be progressing to the relationship route then I would definitely expect him to have stopped dating around. But this could be after or before the third date it really depends on the man and the situation. At that point you should have some more idea of his intentions towards you and whether you want to be involved with him further.

It's taken me a long time to be comfortable with being single and not chasing a guy, it takes time and a lot of work on yourself that a lot of people aren't prepared to do. Being alone can be a totally uncomfortable feeling if you don't actually like/ love yourself. 100% think its the route of why most people end up unhappy in relationships/ending up with a partner that isn't suited for you, obviously there's other reasons but the fear of being single is definitely one of them .
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/04/20 06:01 PM

Thinking about it being tired of being single is like saying you're tired of yourself. A partner should be a nice addition to your life that you can go without imo

I have and honestly the best way to solve that is just to ignore or even better, block them. Had some success with telling them to just go away I'm not interested but there's some who still persist after that. Best thing to do is just not even respond to them, they like the "chase" or "persuading" a woman to fall for them. Don't join in their game.

Just ignore him and don't ignore your intuition if it feels weird that it took him that long then definitely recognise that red flag.

I cannot stand it when a guy asks to meet up after sending like 3 messages, we haven't even been talking a day the max he's said is hey how are you and some inane chit chat that i couldn't care less about and you want to meet? We are complete strangers why the hell would you want to meet you can't possibly know if there's anything there beyond physical attraction. Obviously they're not after something serious but its truly eye opening that men can agree to meet up with a total stranger without t…

100% my ex did this he'd cry to me when he was "apologising" and he knew how awkward crying made me so I'd just forgive him to make it stop. Could guarantee he would do the exact same thing (which was using recreational drugs) that had started the argument in the first place 2-3 weeks later. Total manipulation.

red flag talking about exes way too soon, and its almost always in a way that puts their ex in a negative light/ they're still in love with them

It's like if you were really into each other you would've been able to wait instead of forcing something, most of these "relationships" won't make it as cynical as that sounds.

I saw a comment from another redditor on here the other day that said if someone is really sorry they wouldn't do it in the first place. Someone's repeated disrespect is 100% intentional, they know they can get away with it. It's the whole asking for forgiveness is easier than permission, so they're just doing it knowing that it's easy to get to their partners good side and they can continue to be an a-hole with no restrictions.

You're both entitled to your own opinions. However it's not like you're saying women should save themselves for marriage or shouldn't be sexual individuals so I don't get the whole archaic thing. It's not inherently old fashioned to think that having sex should be between two people that share a romantic connection/love each other. In fact that should be the norm. Yes casual sex is more accepted but why is that accepted as normal, why is a man's satisfaction and a woman's disappointment accepted…

It's like they actually get shocked that you know your worth and you know your stuff. And I do find it worse with older LVM for some reason, I'm guessing because there shitty behaviour has been accepted for longer than others and no one has bothered to call them out for it in their adult life.

Although sex is important to me I would have to agree that financial and emotional security holds the same importance as sex, for me anyway.

The most attractive guy I ever dated turned out to be a huge liar and lacked all personality. Attempting to have a conversation that wasn't about the gym was virtually impossible. At the time I had huge insecurity and didn't feel attractive enough for him but that wasn't the issue the issue was his personality. While I do want to be attracted to my future partner obviously, personality is the make it or break it factor. I won't just date or be with someone solely for their looks. Looks are fleet…

100% I'm guilty of it too but just realise that you're great as you are and the right person will act right for you and see how great you are. Also the tough love on here can seem a little harsh but sometimes we need to hear the truth, we've all made mistakes when it comes to men/dating good thing is we pick ourselves up and learn from it all.

I think you need to read a few posts from here and realise that if a guy is going to act like that then he is not someone you want a relationship from, never mind if he wants one or not. Someone who genuinely cares about you would not be so annoyed about that to the point of making you leave. Don't be angry at yourself just learn from this situation and move on from him.

Don't rely on anyone's compliments to validate yourself. What does it matter what he calls you? Its a throwaway comment that he spent like a second thinking about. So don't spend more than a second thinking about it. Great he complimented you and keep it moving, you should know you're all those things sexy cute sweet and so much more than your looks so it doesn't matter what adjective they use.

If he wants to talk to you he will reach out to you, you've done your bit and all you can do right now. If he's not talking to you assume he doesn't want to or intend to and try to distract yourself from thinking about him.

And it is ALWAYS on their terms. You ever been in a FWB situation where the woman asks for the guy to come over. It doesn't happen? They don't respond to that. It's only about getting their needs met whenever they want not when we want.

I second that, I wanna know what chick flicks/films/tv series I can watch where the guys we're meant to swoon over aren't LVM and the women aren't total pickmeisha's.

I am never going to assume a man doing the bare minimum means that he is "into me". If you accept the bare minimum in the talking stage you'll end up with the bare minimum when you're in the relationship.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/03/20 12:23 PM

The issues with FWB is that its an excuse for LVM to treat women how they want without repercussions and with permission from the woman to do so, also it never works cause one person always wants more than the other. Speaking from experience.

I know, I don't know what he was expecting or thinking. He had to drive a whole hour each way to come see me and all that effort for what he couldn't be bothered to do a whole year before. I don't do second chances sorry pal.

1 year. This guy cheated on me and left me an emotional wreck, I had made several attempts to reach out to him post break up which went ignored. Needless to say i sought therapy and blocked the guy and moved on. A whole year later this guy turns up at my door at christmas with a whole letter finally apologising for what he'd done and trying to be friends. I told him where to go and I've ignored him ever since.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/03/20 11:00 PM

Please block him sis for your own sanity and stop contacting him no reason he gives you is ever going to make yourself feel better. Men don't cheat because their partner isn't good enough it's because they themselves aren't good enough for you. Please please please focus on loving yourself and move on from this LVM jerk who isn't worth wasting your emotions on a moment longer.

I like to surprise them with "I don't drink alcohol" and watch their disappointment as they realise they actually have to plan a proper date and not just use alcohol to make it easier for them to get me into bed which you know is just their hope that you drink enough to be "easy".
