I'm actually rather okay with this, if you wanted to do a film like this why not make up a religion with Christian undertones? I think they were honestly just asking for trouble.

To Kill A Mockingbird is honestly one of my favorite books of all time, I read it at the perfect time (8th Grade) and for some unknown reason I always thought that scout was a boy until like halfway through the book I think they specify again and confirm she is in fact a girl. That always made it more memorable to me that I would make a simple mistake like that, and it helped ingrain the over all message of the book in my head.
