Women touching a man's arms are the equivalent of men wanting to touch female boobs and ass. That's how it goes in our house, and by the experience of us both, it's pretty common. Men want to touch soft boob, firm ass, and sleek rest of the body. Women basically want to find hardness everywhere.

I am not surprised, really. And a lot of men, while on paper the 'initiators', were actually forced into it by the woman, such as one man in particular whose ex laid down an untenable ultimatum that forced him to file just for the sake of his child. I am against divorce, I am particularly against no-fault divorce, and I think we need to return to the days when men had the right to keep ahold of their women no matter what she wants, and only the direst of circumstance (oops, I accidentally marrie…

I don't believe that. Attraction is an intangible thing that waxes and wanes and can be retrieved.

He needs to ask if something is wrong, like, really wrong. If she doesn't have even a half legit excuse like, I don't know, her back has been killing her or something that really would make you reluctant about sex itself no matter who the partner is, he needs to channel the man she married. Seduce her. Just go get her like he did the first time. Nothing is more flattering to a woman than to be pursued with passion. Why is nobody suggesting this? Attraction is partially a choice and heavily based…

They do to some women... They also don't mean anything to some men. That's less of a gendered problem, I'd think. Now, why they choose to not take those vows very seriously probably varies a lot between genders. And I respect you for not taking those vows as loosely as a lot of people.

I'm INTP too. I thought I wouldn't be into PDA but when he grabs me for a kiss because he wants it NOW - who the hell can resist that? Of course we're typical in the sense of, I could cuddle 24/7 and he plays that 'slightly annoyed at this clingy girl but she's my girl so it's cool' persona so for instance, if we're watching tv and I'm just lying on his shoulder, he doesn't shrug me off unless he has to change position (valid) or he claims I'm too hot (token protest) - basically he just takes it…

I respect his honesty. I'm glad he's human; I told him it was a good thing he cried when his mother died. If he didn't, I'd worry. Did he wallow in grief? No. And that's why I admire his strength. If he's upset about something, he tells me all about it - this make me feel needed. I'm pretty much his only person to talk to that way, that honestly. Then, he moves on - much quicker than I would, or do. He listens when I'm upset - and then tells me to move on. He does not accept ongoing negativity o…

Since rats don't actually talk (and in fact spread disease), chefs hating rats is logically sound, and the fantasy version is a gross distortion that asks us to ignore reality for the sake of 'tolerance.' How does that metaphor in any way help your point?

And so the argument, then, is that a woman in Tony Stark's place would have created impractical armor if written by a man? And her armor would make sense if she were written by a woman? I think the other poster's point that a woman may have done something entirely different with the power source is more valid. Male and female minds work differently and where Tony goes for an entirely unsubtle breakout, I'd probably have gone for a forcefield, the illusion of invisibility, knocking them out or ca…

Superman plays the opposite of what he is so that no one makes the connection between his personas. Actually, most iterations that I've seen have him humble and entirely restrained with his powers, the most epic example of male virtue tempering male strength besides Jesus. He could destroy the world. But he plays a lesser mortal and allows himself to be ridiculed, overlooked, and ignored... he knows his love interest doesn't love him as a plain human, only as basically a god, even though he poss…

No woman wants to look like total crap. And if the woman is badass or indestructible enough to not actually NEED much armor, more will just impede movement and agility. Lol I have met so many women that say style over comfort...or practicality... while I'm over here trying for both, but that's just me. Yeah, it's harder than choosing pure practicality or pure appearances, but it can be done.

Catwoman's basic outfit (black form fitting suit) is practical AND sexy. Or else why do gymnasts, martial artists, and the like wear skintight spandex and minimal coverage? I suppose there's no advantage to clothing that doesn't bunch up or catch on things when you're engaged in crazy physical activity and combat?

70s? You're about 45 years behind. The crazies are worse now than ever before, making up grievances to maintain relevancy. No group ever declares their reason for existence void, they are by nature self-perpetuating. We could make men second class citizens and give women every single privilege and they'd STILL complain ... oops, we did that already and they're marching naked through the streets proclaiming they aren't sexual objects... uh, ok, sure.

Actually, I relate to any character with qualities I like, admire, or aspire to, and in totality, have never really related to anyone, real or imagined, except characters I've written myself. I'm still waiting for a mainstream character I can relate to, and I'll be waiting until doomsday unless my books get famous enough to become movies. And if that time comes, I want someone who will respect my original intent to make the adaptation. Male or female, I don't care. Just respect my work and do a …

Again, no one is explaining that the mere fact that someone high up is female is a good thing. Why? And some poster here said gender has nothing to do with filmmaking ability - so why then do we need female filmmakers? Don't we plain and simply need good filmmakers? And if you have an agenda to fill quotas in favor of EITHER gender, you're pretty damn certain to obscure that goal. Good female (or male) filmmakers don't appear from thin air. So why in the world is this a bad thing? They write what they know, which is their own natures. I tended to stick to female MCs, not out of sexism, but because I felt I could do better justice to a believable female nature because I am female. I really don't want the average man telling me what a woman is like. In fact, I read a series of YA books with a female lead written by a male author when I was rather young, and I enjoyed it, but I remember thinking that something was just a bit off about…

Actually, that seems to be about the mainstream admitting that anyone can be anything regardless of descent. That should be obvious. Why does it need to be on TV? Do people of a given descent not believe they can do anything for which they are qualified without seeing proof of it in fiction? Or is it about looking like a less racist society because the monopoly on entertainment tells us it must be so? By my estimation, you confused my use of 'good' as an adjective describing 'English' with the phrase 'writing English good', which should instead be 'writing English well', which wasn't at all what I meant.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/17 05:31 PM
3

... No it doesn't. Making something worth watching more than once is what matters. I'm sorry, but you come off as very sexist. Could it possibly be that not as many women aspire to be directors as men? Or that if they do, they have less drive for it? Or even if they have the same desire and drive for it, maybe more of them just tend to have less talent at it? Of course not, it must be sexism.

That's entirely sexist. Why does it matter the gender of who made what?? Does it affect your view of the movie to know the director was female?? WHO THE HELL CARES? Did the movie suck or not? That's the only question that matters. 'Look! A female director actually made a good movie!' is helping the 'cause'... How?

Of course Wonder Woman is an easy segue into rampant feminism. The whole notion of Amazonian society hinges on pretending that males are irrelevant except for breeding. Furthermore, the implication runs, they are dangerous, greedy, lustful, untrustworthy, and entirely too warlike. The solution, according to Amazonian philosophy, is to become more warlike and dangerous than men, but excuse this because they are isolationist and must defend themselves from evil masculinity. They also pretend that …

Keeping him, respecting him, or loving him when he acts like that? Not so much. The hottest thing is the back and forth. The firm choke followed by a release of pressure because he doesn't want to hurt you and he doesn't have to in order to prove that he can. In other words, soft after he proves the hard.

Well, that's the irony... my mate does 'control' and criticize, but not in the nasty shallow way. He strongly suggests and encourages... I always have the option to refuse and rebel, but at the breaking point, he walks away in disgust, which is more hurtful to me than my father's constant put downs and nagging. And when he does take exception or disagree, he always tries to do it gently and explain it - he doesn't issue commands floating in a void of reason like my father did.

Correct! Positive reinforcement is the best, but fear of negative consequences (not wanting to hurt, disappoint, etc them) ALONG with the positive doesn't hurt either. But negative alone never works. Trust me, my father did the nagging 'you're a POS thing' and I simply stopped caring what he thinks. My SO says, 'I love you but x needs work' and I can't stand to disappoint him. Huge huge difference.

Isn't it more like a margin? If women want, say, for the man to be taller by four+ inches (the standard I've heard) then naturally, the shorter the woman, the more men in her pool, and the taller the man, the more women in HIS pool, based solely on that. A man who is deemed physically weak by most men is still stronger than the average women, but he may need to find a comparatively weak woman in order to maintain the preferred margin. And so on. The MMA-trained woman will likely want an MMA-trai…

Only those unsure of their power feel the need to constantly reinforce it. If he has power and the WOMAN reinforces it, each can enjoy reminding each other of it in small, harmlessly enjoyable ways. That's how my relationship works. So it is not 'obvious' that it isn't the case. I don't think passive dread is a good way to put it. She should never imply that she'll leave him if she becomes too unhappy. That's a good way to encourage preemptive displays of insecure power.

I honestly have to agree with this. Complaining about the laundry may APPEAR to be about the laundry and in some sense might be... ... But it's just as likely to be about feeling overworked or under-appreciated in general. Helping with the laundry may be a solution, or maybe helping with something else will take the pressure off more effectively. Isn't most reluctance merely a failure to self motivate? Why do people fail to do things, even things they want to do? Inertia outweighs impetus. Chances are, he actually wants his house to look nice, that he does kinda think it's his job, but it's hot out and it's boring to paint a fence and he doesn't want to badly enough to outweigh all of that. The solution is not to tear him down for not being motivated enough (nagging) - but to sweeten the pot (seduction/pleading/bribery). I don't see maki…

I disagree. If she knows the method to tilt the odds but ultimately has no force behind the request, his choice to comply is still a choice - he just does it more happily than grudgingly. I'd he's in charge, there is a (delightful) latent force behind his requests - the implication that escalation will always end in him winning. Men wish to be moved by batted eyes and a pleading smile. Women like that smoky-eyed look and a firm, deep voice. In most cases, it doesn't even reach force, latent or o…

I can assure you that it is not. She may be perfectly capable of painting the fence - but she doesn't want to, or knows he'd do a better job. If he forces her to do it by refusing to, he lets her take over responsibilities until he's nearly superfluous. Much better for both of them to remain indispensable to each other.

Every human being has the right to live and every human being becomes such at the moment of conception. If rights stop where it affects someone else's, then the mother's right to not be pregnant stops where her child's right to life begins. Picking any other arbitrary line is the path to madness. There isn't a magic date where someone becomes 'human'. The state claiming the power to confer humanity is why we had slavery, remember?

I think the important thing to remember here is that men and women need appealed to differently. Never frame it in a way that puts him in a position (or appearance) of caving to force, pressure, or threats. Men naturally resist that. They respond better to requests, reasoning, strip teases, and assurances of arousal and gratitude. Some even respond to obvious flattery/manipulation because they like it and they don't care if it's blatant, they enjoy being admired and useful. Women tend to respond…

Yes, the Nazis did persecute gays, but only the ones they couldn't use. White knights in the traditional sense were the good guys. They served the king, they rescued good ladies in actual distress, they tended to win the undying affection of said ladies. I'm for women being owned, as long as they're permanently kept, and kept well.

I don't think anyone is sexist except the ones ripping a woman who AGREES with them in essence... there's plenty of lovely men in here, including my man. Oops - that isn't in the right response column.

Since American women snipped American men in the first place, that would be quite disingenuous of them.

I ventured into TRP Reddit knowing that some aspects (most notably PUA game) will come up and I won't really like it (except for the psychology of it), but I came to give my overall general support for you men anyway, and show that while I don't like that one aspect, I can still get behind the rest of it. It was my first post in the section. Color it my intro.

My first two? Uhhh... A little background on the order of 'it takes one to know one.' I would vote to take away my own voting rights if every other woman lost them at the same time. Until then, I'm going to keep voting simply to undo the vote of some unowned, uninformed, liberal feminist woman.

I was unaware of that. And I figured I should mention gender to avoid being labeled a sexist male?

Who the heck said that? This is about VOTING. Felons don't have votes. Non-citizens (are supposed to be) without votes. Does this mean they have no decisions at all?

If you're going to downvote me for AGREEING with the OP... No wonder you have women getting pissed at you. Way to make allies, there.

I'm a woman but I'm a rare one. I lean conservative, anti-feminist, and pro-male. Then again, I'm going straight from one male influence (father) to my next and last - my permanent mate. I didn't get indoctrinated by college. I only work because I have to. My man is in charge - of me, my life, and any major decisions. I, as a woman, do not trust the majority of my own gender to make good decisions on their own. I don't like the PUA aspect of Red Pill, for obvious reasons. I'm a one-man girl and …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
