I’m 5’10 and my partner is 5’7. I couldn’t care less. I have plenty of female friends dating men that are the same height or shorter. I leave the house and see plenty of short men in relationships. My dad is shorter than my mother. Then I see men online whine constantly that women hate short men, that women don’t even like short men and if they do date them they must have ulterior motives. No one hates short men like a short man. Also, even if some women do have that preference, what’s the probl…

really? there is constant criticism of choice feminists in feminist circles. If you literally search “choice feminism” you’ll get plenty of posts from feminist subs criticising it

Well I’m very selective with my male friends anyway. So it would be very surprising and disappointing as the male friends I do have are very feminist, kind and respectful. It would for sure make me trust men even less.

I feel the same. There’s a massive difference between men who like women platonically as people and enjoy spending time with them vs men who only view women through dating/sexual lens.

One feminist holding a view doesn’t make that view part of feminism any more than one self-described socialist supporting tax cuts makes tax cuts a socialist policy

Bell Hooks literally challenges this view in The will to change. She talks about how the expectation that men must provide and perform value through income is a patriarchal harm. She argues men’s worth gets tied to what they produce rather than who they are, and criticizes that as a core problem, not something feminism ignores.

Just because you see women online say these things doesn’t mean these women are feminist. It is traditionalism. Neither of those are popular views in feminism.

So a man knows the woman does not wanna have sex and does not consent to it. He then proceeds to use repeated pressure and manipulation using 9 of the 36 strategies to get her to say yes to sex (average number used 8.94). That’s still concerning whether or not you think the tittle is misleading. The cumulative pattern does matter. Instead of accepting her no they try again and again to obtain a yes.

Oh please. How are you going to bring this topic and entirely ignore the fact that most people having problems with age gap relationships is when one person is significantly younger than the other. For example, a 40 year old dating an 18 year old who is still in/fresh out of high school, never had a job, financially dependent on parents, never had a serious relationship or sexual experience vs a 40 year old with an established career, previous relationship experiences, knows their own boundaries…

Women do not commit the same crimes as men. Sure It’s reasonable to argue that sentencing disparities mean conviction and prison statistics don’t perfectly reflect offending. But that doesn’t justify claiming women commit the same crimes at the same rates. Even accounting for underreporting, legal definitions, and sentencing differences, men still commit the vast majority of serious violent and sexual offences. The sentencing gap and the offending gap are separate issues.

Women not getting wet by random men while doing whatever in public now means women don’t think about men or aren’t interested in talking to them? What? Women see men as people first, if she thinks a guy is attractive she will want to get to know him or just acknowledge he’s attractive and go by her day. Not immediately thinking about jumping on his dick.

literally, this is ridiculous. if a woman truly enjoys a sex act, she will continue doing it. The fact these men come up with all these scenarios and won’t even think of the possibility that she tried it once or twice and did not like it, maybe it was painful, maybe she felt pressured into it, maybe she thought she liked it a the time but now find its degrading etc. Literally any fucking reason is valid to not want to do something you don’t feel comfortable with. but nooo she must endure being u…
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 10:40 PM

What a gross take with no nuance whatsoever. You want your partner to reluctantly endure an act that is uncomfortable and unpleasant for her just to prevent abandonment. If you and “many men” feel this way you should all stay single as you clearly don’t know what a healthy relationship is. People have boundaries that should be respected. If she’s scared you leave unless she lets you fuck her in the ass that’s not enthusiastic consent.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 07:55 PM

Me neither. I would feel gross if my partner was really uncomfortable with a specific act like pegging (despite doing it before) but he “gives in” for me. How could I enjoy that.

How many times are we going to debate the same topic before you people understand that people and their preferences change for multiple reasons and women don’t owe you sexual acts they have done before. Someone might have enjoyed a sexual act at 20 but no longer enjoys it at 26. They may have discovered they were doing things out of pressure, people-pleasing, insecurity, or fear of losing a partner rather than genuine desire. They may associate certain acts with a relationship they’d rather not …

Not to mention all the reports coming out about men drugging their wives and raping them, as well as managing to find other men willing to rape them too and posting videos of it online. As well as the fact majority of people watching and producing CSAM are men, men who often are educated, married and employed. Men who have kids. It’s getting hard to distinguish who is a good man and who isn’t. In my country rape’s not even taken seriously anymore, rapists are getting away with suspended sentence…

Funny how there was another post claiming the complete opposite, saying if the woman is waiting too long to have sex with you she’s just not that into you. In my opinion if you’re looking for a serious relationship don’t have sex because you think it’ll make someone commit and don’t delay sex because you think it’ll make someone commit. Choose the timing that matches your own comfort level and values. Waiting can help identify partners who genuinely respect your pace but it isn’t a guaranteed st…

I think it’s empathy that these men lack. The ability to understand and emotionally connect with another person’s experience, especially women’s. I’ve seen men talk about how they’d “love” to be objectified by women, under a post of a woman complaining about being dehumanised and reduced to nothing but a sexual object. Even the way they talk about “duty sex”, I’ve seen enough comments along the lines of “what’s so bad about just laying there and letting him do it, it’s not like you have to do an…

If prescribing to traditional gender roles and division of chores are a dealbreaker for me, why would I wait until I’m emotionally invested to find out? Never said it has to be first or second date.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 08:26 PM

well i’m not getting into a relationship with a man unless I know his stance on gender roles and expectations in a relationship
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 08:02 PM

Then don’t speak for the rest of us.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 07:47 PM

Couldn’t be me. You can find out these things in so many indirect ways and fairly early on in the relationship. I wanted a man who doesn’t prescribe to traditional gender roles, can cook, is clean and willing to clean, is a feminist ally, pro choice etc and found the exact man I wanted. He does most of the cooking too. Been 5 years and I’m very much obsessed with him.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 07:43 PM

I completely agree and if people want their relationship to be traditional because that’s what works for them, sure. but if they then go around saying shit like “women should be submissive and cook, clean, take care of kids while the man provides, is the leader etc” then that’s a problem

I would absolutely dump someone for having different values and different political views
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/26 11:21 AM

it’s whether your paths actually cross and whether the interest is mutual, what are you doing to meet people? most people meet their partners through repeated social contact, through friends, work, uni, social clubs, dating apps etc. the idea that women should be approaching you randomly is not really how most relationships form.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/26 11:11 AM

life is unfair. the number of women in the world is irrelevant. most of those women are in different countries, different age groups, already in relationships, not compatible, or simply not interested. dating isn’t a random lottery where everyone has equal access to all 4 billion women.

Not all anti-porn arguments are the same. You’re lumping all antiporn people together which is inaccurate when people have different reasons for being against it. And sure, there are antiporn people with anti-male double standards, doesn’t mean it’s everyone. Criticize the double standards where they exist, but assuming all anti-porn arguments are secretly about controlling men is no more convincing than assuming all porn users hate women. I am personally against mainstream porn and do not watch…

Being anti-porn industry isn’t being anti sex. There are usually reasons like exploitation, coercion, unrealistic expectations about sex and bodies and prevalence of violent or degrading content. most porn eroticises violence against women, incest, “barely” legal teens, rape etc. It’s not unreasonable that some people are against it.

Being able to get sex doesn’t fix loneliness. You live in a distorted reality if you think that’s the case. Loneliness is about lacking meaningful connections, belonging, and emotional intimacy, not just access to sexual partners. I can’t speak for other people but as a bisexual woman I want someone who is socially skilled, assertive, charismatic, kind, funny regardless of gender. I’m in a relationship with a man who is also shorter than me and I know plenty of women dating short men, men with less social skills, less confidence etc. In heterosexual dating, a lot of “confidence, assertiveness, ambition” gets filtered through traditional gender expectations: men are expected to lead, initiate, provide direction and be domi…

imagine a law saying, “If you are employed, you must have sex with your boss, but you can quit at any time.” Most people would still view that as coercive because the choice isn’t between sex and no sex, it’s between sex and losing your job. The legal system is attaching a penalty to refusing sex. The same logic applies here. If marriage legally required sex, then refusing sex could potentially carry legal consequences. That means consent is no longer freely revocable while the marriage exists. …

Well said. 18 year olds are often immature and lack experience. They don’t know what their own boundaries are yet or what a healthy relationship looks like. Love can be conditional without being transactional. If you’re mainly thinking “what am I getting out of this” rather than actually caring about the person then yeah your relationship is transactional and shallow. yep, people can internalize societal pressures and begin viewing themselves primarily through the lens of how attractive they appear to others. Constantly monitoring one’s appearance or tying self-worth heavily to sexual attractiveness could be considered a form of self-objectification. yes they are, both are seen as failing gender expectations, the difference is that femininity is seen as inferior/lower status while masculinity isn’t. That’s why masculine women are more tolerated than feminine men.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 02:03 PM
8

The issue is which direction is treated as degrading. Men are mocked for being associated with femininity because femininity is viewed as lower status in men. Women being mocked for masculinity usually isn’t because ‘men are inferior,’ it’s because she’s seen as failing femininity.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 01:37 PM

I never understood this perspective from straight women. I’ve dated two bi men and one is my current partner. The experience of dating a bi man was always 100% better than dating a straight man. At no point did I think they weren’t “real men” because of their attraction to men.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 12:35 PM
7

The reason feminine men are mocked is often because femininity is culturally coded as lower status/weak/soft. The insult only works because being compared to women/femininity is considered degrading for men. Calling a man “girly,” “emotional,” “bitch,” “princess,” “pussy,” etc. relies on the assumption that femininity lowers his rank. That absolutely connects to misogyny, even if the target is male. /r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 04:05 PM
12

You’re just projecting your personal feelings onto everyone else, that’s not reality. I can easily say the penis doesn't penetrate the vagina but is engulfed by the vagina. To be consumed and disappear is a submissive act, thus men are biologically meant to be subordinate. Penis and testicales are pretty fragile and sensitive orggans. The vagina is a strong muscle that can birth a child. See how dumb this all is. Both dominance and submission are attitudes not specific acts. If two partners are …

Any man talking about women “submitting” to him is an immediate loser in my eyes
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 03:04 PM

You’ve confused “receptive” with “submissive.” That’s a gender stereotype, not a law of nature.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 03:03 PM

are you saying for men being fucked = being respected?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 02:49 PM

Women’s rights weren’t simply allowed or given by men. Women fought for these rights for decades through activism and pressure while often facing imprisonment. It was a reluctant surrender not a generous allowance from men.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 08:33 AM
1

No? it proves guy A created more pressure, insecurity, or fear of abandonment. People don’t always do more sexual acts because they desire someone more sometimes they do more because they feel less safe saying no. She could have worked on her fear of abandonment/insecurities/internalised misogyny and no longer feel the need to do those things. You’re treating willingness under pressure as evidence of desire. That’s a pretty grim understanding of consent and relationships
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 08:15 AM
4

I think men enjoy sex that makes them feel powerful and masculine. It’s validating for them when “she takes it well”, gags on it or is willing to do more “taboo” acts just for him.

I mean, speaking from personal experience, plenty of misogynistic men hide behind kink to violate and degrade women (who are often vulnerable).

She did those things because she felt pressured, wanted validation, feared disappointing the other person, or thought that was what she was “supposed” to do as an “adventurous girlfriend” to keep a man interested. A lot of women participate in sexual acts they don’t actually enjoy because they’ve been socialised to see sex as performance, obligation, or a way to avoid seeming boring/vanilla
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 02:32 PM

Don’t care about the average man. I personally would not date a man who watches porn. My partner doesn’t watch it, I don’t watch it. I don’t like how a lot of porn eroticises violence towards women in sex. How it sexualises school girls and incest. The woman is almost always slapped, choked, called a bitch, face f*cked till she gags and cries. You can hardly distinguish between the sounds of pain and pleasure not to mention the sex trafficking and coercion that takes place which makes it hard to…

From what I’ve seen the men who complain the most on this subreddit are the same ones who believe all women are shallow gold diggers, women have no dating issues, orgasm gap is justified, women should lower their standards and that sex is a basic need (that women should provide). The resentment for women is so clear in their takes i’m sure women irl can pick up on it too

I don’t have a type in terms of physical characteristics. I’ve dated/had crushes on white guys, asian guys, black guys, short guys, tall guys, guys with and without glasses, skinny guys and dad bods. For me it’s more about who they are as a person, do our values align, do we have a similar sense of humour, similar lifestyle, outlook on sex/intimacy etc. I do tend to prefer who aren’t traditionally masculine though. entitlement can absolutely exist toward one individual woman too. If someone reacts to rejection with “you owe me sex/intimacy because I’m nice/lonely/a man,” that is still entitlement. rape culture is about social norms around entitlement, coercion, pressure, dehumanization, hostility toward rejection, minimizing consent violations, etc. a man doesnt need to literally rape someone to reinforce those norms not sure why you’re bringing religion into this, most discussions of rape culture are not …
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 01:06 PM

I would also argue that when men throw their tantrums about not getting laid even with hating women itself not rape culture when men turn not getting sex into anger at women as a group, that’s entitlement not just frustration. it feeds into the same norms around pressure and access that rape culture describes
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 11:48 AM

wanting sex obviously isn’t rape culture. but rape culture isn’t only direct attempts at sex without consent either, it also includes norms that normalise pressure, entitlement to sex and women’s bodies, or excuses around consent.

occasional survival isn’t the standard. shelter is considered a basic need because it protects against environmental risk reliably across conditions (not just snow) and not just on a lucky night. by your logic you could say food isn’t necessary because people can fast for a while. you can disagree all you want, shelter is still universally recognised as a basic human need. loneliness is about lack of connection, sex is not required to solve it. you can have sex and still be lonely, or have no se…
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 11:33 AM
3

thats just wrong in real world terms. you can survive temporarily without shelter, but not reliably or safely. shelter is what prevents exposure, illness, and environmental death. thats why it’s treated as a basic survival requirement and why society still treats homelessness as something to prevent. no one says you have to invite strangers to your house. loneliness can harm health but the issue there is social connection, not sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/26 08:36 PM
7

sure. even if you want to argue semantics, shelter is still a survival necessity in a way sex isn’t. people don’t die from lack of sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/26 07:36 PM

Sex is not a biological need in the same way food, water, sleep, or shelter are. You can go your entire life without sex and survive perfectly well. if something truly is a need, we don’t treat refusal as morally neutral in the same way we do with sex because you can’t ethically refuse someone food or shelter in crisis conditions, but you absolutely can refuse sex at any time for any reason
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/26 07:20 PM

Because women don’t view men as bodies first in the same way many men view women. A socially awkward woman can still be sexually appealing to a lot of men because for many men physical attraction is enough to clear the bar for casual sex. For women the experience of attraction is usually more holistic. Things like social competence, charisma, confidence, emotional intelligence, humor, reading the room, flirting and making her feel comfortable/safe/excited are often part of what creates attractio…

Aren’t you the same guy who said men only care about sex and they’re not capable of romantic love
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/26 01:53 PM

so where is your “proof” that women don’t face issues in dating and relationships?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 04:31 PM

Oh yeah if they just imagine that instead of women they’re being gazed at by other males who are bigger, stronger and more dangerous than them and unattractive at the same time. And that those males will sometimes attempt to harass or assault or rape them because these bigger guys are groomed from infancy to view them as a play-toy existing for their own amusement instead of a conscious human being with thoughts and agency, im sure then they’d understand what it feels like.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 04:07 PM

dude your entire post history is making generalisations about women and pretending they’re facts
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 03:57 PM

lol you repeatedly ask people for proof then say the most ludicrous statements as facts, where is your proof? “women don’t have problems in dating or relationships” is just ignorant. why do you even bother debating on here every day
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 03:42 PM

Because historically, medicine treated men as the “default” body. A lot of research, drug trials, and symptom were based mainly on male patients for decades which affected how conditions are recognised. For example, heart attack symptoms in women can present differently from the stereotypical “crushing chest pain” model that’s been taught for years. Women statistically are also more likely to have their symptoms labelled as anxiety, stress, hormones or “psychosomatic.” Also, conditions that main…

Well, two guys that seemed nice at first proceeded to assault me and do things without asking. One choked me so hard without consent or any prior communication and I almost passed out, genuinely thought he wanted to kill me. Casual hook ups are just not worth the risk of STI, rape and pregnancy for maybe 3 minutes of a good time (if you’re lucky). Also, men who watch too much porn are terrible at sex, and there’s too many of them
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/26 09:28 AM

Mid 20s bi woman here. I’d be open to it for sure. No more painful, debilitating periods, not having to go through pregnancy, sacrificing my body and mental health. No more cat calling and being sexualised for anything I wear because of my body type. More safety in public spaces. Sounds like a good deal to me and my partner is bi as well so a win win

Your first post is full of bad grammar, lowercase and flows completely different. The “that’s not x that’s y” is a classic giveaway too especially with how your argument is structured. Also you can absolutely get chat gpt to say all this, If you frame a question to support a specific conclusion it will often generate an answer confirming that belief.

The amount of posts I’ve seen claiming that a woman who doesn’t sleep with a guy on their first date is not into him is insane to me. In the same breath they’ll call a woman a slut if she sleeps with more than 3 guys. Majority of women are not comfortable with sleeping with strangers regardless how interested or attracted to them they are. If anything, the more interested I am the more I wanna take things slowly.

I never understood this “big, fancy date on first meet up” thing. I don’t find it impressive and If I guy suggested that I would have declined. Something about it just makes me uncomfortable, like there is an expectation that I would sleep with him. I prefer more relaxed settings, like grabbing a pint, a coffee, going for a walk etc. and if that first meet up goes well and we continue to date, we cab go somewhere nice and split it.

I think that’s probably true fort most heterosexual marriages that are “traditional” where the man assumes the provider and leader role and the woman is expected to/does all the cooking, cleaning and childcare. I see those type of marriages as prisons personally but hey each to their own. The happiest marriages I have seen are the ones without traditional gender roles.

I don’t see anything wrong with feeling sexy and wanting to appear sexy to others. Everyone likes validation. That doesn’t necessarily mean you’re reducing yourself to an object. However, I do think women can internalise the observer’s perspective and view their bodies as objects to be looked at and evaluated based on appearance. I think it’s largely caused by internalised societal standards but I do view objectification as external in a sense that it’s hard for someone to view themselves as an …

Plenty of men post thirst traps. Just because you don’t see it on your timeline doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. Someone posting a tiktok looking hot doesn’t mean they’re objectifying themselves. It’s not wrong to want to be sexually attractive, and appear as such, and it’s not wrong to find people sexually attractive. It is wrong when you dehumanize them, and reduce them down to their bodies, or their appearance. This is objectifying.

Classic. Men in your framing are individuals you can have deep, meaningful conversations with. Women are a monolith, “whiny,” interchangeable, mainly valued for looks. That’s not an observation or “reality” that’s you not seeing women as full people. And if women are supposedly all shallow and immature, why are men so set on dating them at all? If you don’t wanna have deep conversations with women, see them as whiny, and make fun of feminine things yet you pursue them for sex, who is the shallow…

I personally don’t know any feminists who actually think this way. It sounds like liberal/choice feminism to me which I feel like it’s just repackaged capitalism/patriarchy marketed as empowerment that prioritises the needs of white, privileged, middle class women without going deep into class oppression and capitalism. They usually get a lot of criticism in actual feminist spaces because they think any choice a woman makes is “feminist” which is load of BS
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/26 08:57 AM
9

Literally, women can’t even trust their husbands to not rape them.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/26 08:09 AM

Careful this doesn’t fit their worldview. They’ll say she must be lying to be attracted to you because there’s no way short men can get dates in their minds
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/26 02:18 PM

Your takes are removed from reality. I didn’t say women owe men attraction. I said short men are worthy of love, meaning they can and do have genuine relationships where their partner is actually attracted to them, even if you don’t like that.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/26 02:03 PM

So any time a woman dates a short man she’s secretly not attracted to him? That’s not an argument it just means you’ll ignore any evidence that proves you wrong. You keep perpetuating these claims and contributing to men’s low self esteem surrounding their height then blaming women for it. I’ve seen more men talk shit about short men than women. Short men are worthy of love.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/26 01:49 PM

Go to therapy bro
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/26 12:51 PM

That stat doesn’t prove what you think it does. It’s been explained a lot, age gaps and how people report relationships skew it. It doesn’t mean all women are sharing the same small group of men. You literally said “women only value men for their looks, money and status”. Height and looks can matter to some sure. Just like it matters to plenty of men. But plenty of average-height men, including men with thinning hair, are in relationships. So that can’t be the full explanation. My friend is shor…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/26 12:07 PM

If only the top few men get women, how do you explain the millions of completely average men in relationships? Men who are short, balding and not rich by your standards. You’re also treating women like they all want the same thing, which isn’t true. People are way more varied than that. Long-term attraction usually comes down to things like personality, emotional intelligence, humour, and how someone treats you not just “maxing out” looks or money. You claim you want a woman to love you but why …
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/26 11:52 AM

Calm down and stop projecting. Why would I date someone I’m not attracted to? I have higher libido than him so initiate most of the time and we have a great sex life. Stay mad I guess
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/26 11:02 AM

None, I dated two men that were the same height as me, one slightly shorter. What does intimacy have to do with it?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/26 10:34 AM

I know plenty of women who date men below 5’10 and some of them are balding. None of them rich. My own partner is 5’7 while I’m 5’10 and earning more. Never been an issue. Maybe go outside once in a while instead of spending time in red pill echo chambers. Plenty of women get rejected for being fat, too tall, ugly, “flat” by men who are average looking. There are shallow people of both genders.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/26 10:19 AM

Why do I know plenty of men below 5’10 in happy relationships then? Including my own partner? Have you been outside?
