Men "shoot their shots" thinking it'll work when in reality, not doing so could have potentially gotten them further in the relationship (or at least not sabotage the original relationship like friendship, acquaintance-ship etc) 🙄 not that anyone would want to be in a relationship with an nvm but yall get the gist lmao

I agree with you. I think my stance can be summarized to "pro sex worker, anti sex work industry". Yes I support decriminalization and unionization of sex workers so they get to work in a safe environment and not be roped into signing shady contracts while being able to leave the industry whenever they want; no the industry as a whole is centered around men's desires only and it's leading to sick consequences like trafficking, doxxing, hardcore kinks going mainstream and being exposed to minors …

This!! I've also heard some girls say that their "post nut clarity" goes away when they consume erotica and other variants instead of watching porn when masturbating. Of course these are just anecdotes I heard and not like a scientific study so take it with a grain of salt but you're probably onto something about the screaming conscience.

omfg girl YES. I've been thinking that for ages (about how a relationship should have all love languages)!!!! I think these days the real meaning behind love languages became lost cuz people like to categorize themselves (ex. zodiac sign, mbti etc). I mean it's ok to prefer one language over the other but it doesn't mean the other love languages should be absent in the relationship 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I'm usually a lurker but I'm writing in hopes that someone might be inspired -- I started saying less "sorry" with my coworkers. Since we all work remotely and like 99% of our communication is done through messaging and not talking, it's easier to accomplish this since you can edit / proofread your messages. Now I try to say "thank you" instead (ex. "sorry about being late" -> "thank you for your patience").

Slightly related, but I also hate the trope in tv shows where the girl is the level-headed, logical one while the boy is the reckless, adventure-loving type. Or the stereotype of "dad lets the kids do something fun and tells the kids to not tell their moms about it". It reinforces the idea you brought up!! Plus it makes women the "naggers" regardless of age.

Omg this. It's not the actual size, but the insecurity! And I think this issue also goes for other physical features like height. I'm just not down to deal with men's insecurities / stroke their egos when I'm busy enough dealing with my own, ya know

lmao yes!!! I mean... I'm all for men slowly learning about our reality but also at the same time it's not our job to educate men on our issues.... go read a book or an article instead of consulting your female friends 💀

They can't handle women liking male pop stars/actors/etc PLUS they always ridicule or shame women for it. Scrotes say things like "you just like them for their looks and not their talents", downplaying the influence that Beatles fan girls had back in the day, "they're not even that good looking" etc. 👀👀

Damn I've been thinking exactly this whenever someone I know (both directly and indirectly) meets someone through a dating app 💀 I understand that people get lonely and get tired of staying at home... But dating during this period seems so irresponsible.

One way to look at it is think of what would happen if the 'sugar daddies' suddenly decided to stop 'supporting' the 'sugar babies'. Or what would happen if the sugar daddy was having a bad mood? His business suddenly failed? Suddenly found a new girl to exploit? Instantly the 'benefit' would disappear; the 'empowerment' was being borrowed from the male all along.

This applies to girls I don't know as well 🙃 like when a guy friend tells me he has a new crush or a girlfriend I'm like.... sis I don't know you but run

Omg the fact that I have had to use TWO toilets in my life that had nasty black streaks (not like. an occasional poop streak you get from an unusually sticky poo but like black ........ mold ? ! ? ! honestly not sure what those were)... I get that cleaning the toilet is not the most fun part of chores but wtf!!!

What I also despise is how when lack of hygiene is pointed out, some men will go through extreme mental gymnastics to defend it like... soap is bad for you!!! no one taught me how to properly wash myself!! Showering once a week is good enough cuz I can't smell myself etc like wtf... some men really don't wanna admit their faults

Hi ladies! This pandemic really is wearing me down so let's share our plans/goals/dreams for when we can safely leave our houses again! 🥺 I'm gonna learn to drive again so that my sister and I can go to more remote places when we travel. I also wanna do outdoor paintings in a city nearby and maybe also try out photography. And I can't wait to finally meet up with my friends who live in different cities and my parents who are abroad.

Ladies I just had to vent... Summary of my past: 2 years ago, went on a date with a guy. He turned out to be an lvm who broke my heart because that was my first dating experience + first time being physical with someone. Then I discovered fds a few months ago. This guy had the audacity to text me last night!! After 2 years! I actually texted back asking who it was because I recently lost all my contacts and thought it might have been an old classmate from college. But no it was this guy. I was s…

Hi ladies! Hope this question isn't too weird or heavy but... does anyone else feel like you're overcompensating for the fact that you're not in a relationship? As in, I sometimes feel like I'm trying to fill the 'void' in my love life by overly indulging in fds memes, posts, etc. I also sometimes feel a bit of an imposter syndrome -- that maybe I'm not as high value as everyone else in this community but I pretend to be??

If I decide to start dating again, one of the qualities I'd look for is how the guy treats me while I'm on my period cuz I don't feel as much pain but I do become super lethargic so it's hard for me to do chores or even go to work. But reading horror stories on FDS about how men lack empathy is making me think that no such guy exists 🙃 And I'm scared that even if a guy does act super nice when I'm on my period, maybe internally he might think that I'm overreacting to the pain or something!

I feel like this quarantine is really taking its toll on me.... I am definitely fortunate & privileged to be able to level up during quarantine (like hobbies and fitness-wise) but my love language is definitely physical touch (and I don't mean having sex like what some lvm will claim... I mean just things like cuddling, holding hands etc) and it sucks that I can't even go out and 'put myself out there' to potentially meet an hvm and fulfill those needs... It just sucks cuz that's the one need I …

Thank you for the helpful post! If you don't mind me asking, is there a reason why you chose Bumble instead of other dating apps? I didn't know before but I like that you can answer prompts AND also have a bio. But I wanted to know if there were other characteristics of the app that differentiate it from the others!

Ugh legit. I've been thinking of downloading it again once covid dies down more but maybe I won't after all... When I used to have it I hated it when guys wouldn't ask questions and only answer the ones that I ask. Wtf??

Men: Women are so emotional! So hormonal! Also men: I have no clue why I acted this way, my feelings have been "out of wack" 🙄

So yall ladies know how we say "liking ____ is not a personality"? I totally agree with that statement, but how can I ensure that my personality, not just my hobbies, is shown on OLD profiles? (I've been off of OLD but thinking of making one again once the pandemic dies down 😐)

Hey, I don't really have any answers for #1 and #2 but just wanted to comment on your #3 cuz I was basically in your shoes for a while lol! I had a small crush on my coworker until a few weeks ago. (Now I'm crushing on a celebrity/fictional character so... yay?) I think for 3, it's important to not feel bad about your feelings. Because feeling bad/guilty about having desires or crushes isn't gonna stop those desires, so why beat yourself up for having wants which are influenced by numerous facto…

Omg I totally feel you with your doubts about the saying I love you thing. I guess it's cuz in the culture I grew up in, it's very normal for couples to tell each other that they love them, even in the very early stages of commitment. I do try to be understanding when my friends who are in relationships make a big deal out of them. Tbh I think if I ever got that far in a relationship, I'd just wait for the other person to say it first cuz those words have different weight for different people. I…

Not surprising when 90% of people on OLD have the same profiles... - Athletic photo; choose two: fishing / hiking / running (at a race) / gym selfie - Drunk at a bar / concert with friends or family - "Looking for the Pam to my Jim" - "Liking _____ is not a personality" - High school graduation photo - Candid, professional photo at a wedding - Choose 3 keywords: adventurous, sarcastic, easy-going, fun-loving, outgoing - Photo with a female relative / friend

So I just saw the post about dick hygiene/UTI. But I'm very sexually inexperienced so can I ask yall's help for how to bring that up to a guy? Not that it'll happen any time soon but it doesn't hurt to prepare 😂 Like... should I tell the guy that we should both shower before we have intercourse (separately)? Should I tell the guy where he can find wet wipes in my bathroom? Please share yall's wisdom!

I've got a question! So I'm in my 20s and I seriously lack dating experience. I never had a bf and went on dates with three men from OLD. I've been able to gain wisdom from FDS and through my friends' horrible dating stories, but I'm worried that I still lack real life experiences that will help me find/identify an HVM. Should I not worry too much about that? I think I'm also anxious because all my close friends have found a boyfriend, even ones who are as introverted as me, and I can't help but…
