Sorry to hear about your struggles. Definitely rely on your support network. Friends, family, hell even strangers helped me get through my separation and divorce. And definitely get a good therapist. The other thing is to really work on yourself in the meantime. Work out, eat right, get healthy, and do some self help books/videos/workshops. I grew a lot in the months after it all went down. Hang in there bro I promise things will get better.

That’s great OP. Enjoy it! I think that early part of a relationship - where everything is new and you’re just discovering each other - is so fun and rewarding, even magical. If it starts to get really serious, then you can and should have a deeper conversation about the age gap. With her, and also with yourself.

An age gap relationship is totally fine, and there’s no need to ask the internet for permission. I and several other middle aged men I know currently or previously have had 20+ year age gap relationships without issues. If you like each other, then go for it. And remember it’s just a date, lol. You’re not proposing holy matrimony.

My family was massive for supporting me, and I felt we got closer as a result. Absolutely you ever want to DM to chat feel free.

Focusing on fixing up your place and getting roommates to help with your financial situation seems like the right thing to do at this stage. And it’s a hard but solvable problem which will help you move forward, make progress, and keep your mind off things. Keep going 💪

I’m so sorry man, hang in there. I’m 2 years post divorce myself. I promise you it does get easier, but it takes time. In those early days what helped me was confiding in family, friends, and even strangers; socializing and joining new social groups like in the MeetUp app; learning new hobbies and meeting new people; exercise; therapy; and meditation via the Headspace app. For dating, it can definitely be tough. I did a lot of work in trying to learn how to flirt and be confident enough to talk …

Hang in there. Work on yourself. Eat healthy, exercise, do therapy and read self help books/watch videos. Socialize and put yourself out there. Make friends. Someone mentioned the MeetUp app above, I recommend that as well. If I can do it in my 40s (and others in this thread older than that) you can do it in your 30s!

It’s all good OP. Lessons learned for when you meet the next lovely lady. There will be others.

Beautfully written. I'm so sorry bro. No children here but I know somewhat how you feel, still missing her and thinking about her just over 2 years since separation, 6 months since divorce. If you're just venting vent away. But if you do think you need help then please seek it. I've done therapy, travel, self-help books, men's workshops, and dated and it all definitely helped me, though it's still a struggle. But struggle on bro, that is what we do.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
