How to handle women who insult you publicly?Well, it's probably too late for you to even see this, but taking your less-aggressive nature into consideration, here's my advice: disarm the situation. The easiest way to do this is to accept everything said about you. If she calls you an asshole, say "the biggest." She calls you a coward, say that you belong to a long line of chickens. "You're stupid" = "I know! I can't count past ten without taking off my shoes!" That sort of thing. She'll quickly run out of things to call you and people wil… | /r/MensRights | 31/01/11 02:57 AM
So, today, I got reprimanded for not being clean-shaven at work. My (female) coworker sports a visible mustache, in violation of dress code. No one says anything to her. How is this fair? Also, for cops in certain locales, there used to be bonus-pay for mustaches because they added an authority look. I don't know if this is still the practice though. | /r/MensRights | 20/08/10 03:15 AM
So, today, I got reprimanded for not being clean-shaven at work. My (female) coworker sports a visible mustache, in violation of dress code. No one says anything to her. How is this fair?Shave around the area in which you'd like to grow a beard. The stubble will look presentable. Over a course of several months, decrease the amount shaved until you are either not shaving or just shaving areas that can be patchy (I have a bald spot to the left of my mouth, so I shave the mustache-beard connector on the right to even it out). In other words, start out with a "chin-strap" of stubble (no neck-beard) and increase the width of the beard as it lengthens. | /r/MensRights | 20/08/10 03:11 AM
Eve Ensler, author of The Vagina Monologues and promoter of V-Day, gave a TED talk about 'girl power' in which she demonizes masculinity. (links inside)I liked Kyle Curtis' response to another comment on the thread: I could buy this if she wasn't talking about girls the entire time. Any time she mentions men in this video she talks about them doing horrible things or how they would be better off if they acted like women. Equating compassion to women is just as sexist as equating logic to men. I don't agree with either comparison and I think they are both shameful. Attributing any trait of humanity to a certain gender is ignorant and counterprod… | /r/MensRights | 04/02/10 05:33 AM
When child's memories of sexual abuse are presented to doctors, lawyers and social workers, the experts were correct about whether the child's account was accurate about 1/3 of the time (coin toss is 50%)It's really unfortunate too. Psychology could be more of a science (and actually help the human condition), but people want to hear 'think yourself thinner' and 'be positive,' so the intellectuals get drowned out by marketeers. | /r/MensRights | 10/11/09 09:48 PM
A 25% pay cut for equality?I'm only replying because you asked a question - I promise I'm not doing the "you can have the last word" and then not let you have it! As to your question: corporations continually reshape the playing field in their favor. Like the repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act - promoted as freeing up the market - really only gave more power to a few banks. It's no secret that they spend millions of dollars on lobbyists for laws in the corporation's favor (and often to everyone else's detriment). They often… | /r/MensRights | 05/11/09 10:27 PM
A 25% pay cut for equality?Okay, I think I get what you're driving at. Let me say that equality of results is inherently unequal and that, at best, it is a bastardization of one fragment of Marxist theory. Also, property rights, the freedom of contract, and rule of law are all social constructs which can be (and have been) changed. This article talks about a group of women using the government to create an oppressive and unfair/unequal environment. Corporations do this every day, but are rarely called Marxist or collectiv… | /r/MensRights | 05/11/09 09:04 PM
A 25% pay cut for equality?I appreciate your reply, but (1) equalizing wages is not the goal of Marxism* (though it can be used as a means to the end) and there are plenty of ideologies that push for pay-by-mandate which are not Marxist in origin and (2) Marxist Feminism, which radical feminism has rejected, is a form of feminism this socialist and MRA can get behind because it works toward the end of oppression for all people, not just a specific subset there-of. Finally, even if we assume that these feminists are also M… | /r/MensRights | 05/11/09 08:13 PM
A 25% pay cut for equality? As I mentioned to rugby superstar above, "I think you may have mixed up Marxism for some other ideology. Not to say that the feminists don't use Marxist rhetoric, but you should realize that MRAs do too." | /r/MensRights | 05/11/09 07:16 PM
A 25% pay cut for equality?we get more of this marxist "equality" I think you may have mixed up Marxism for some other ideology. Not to say that the feminists don't use Marxist rhetoric, but you should realize that MRAs do too. | /r/MensRights | 05/11/09 07:15 PM
Can someone come up with a term for the male equivalent of 'femminism'?Go ahead and look that term up. Note that females of the "feminazi" variety are chauvinists. | /r/MensRights | 10/10/09 05:17 AM
New UK initiative allows parents to share maternity leave, giving fathers a better chance to spend time with their children (yes, it's from a feminist site but it's appropriate for Men's Rights)Actually, supposing the feminist in question wants equality between the sexes, the two goals should be nearly exact. There was recently a post about the difference between feminists and 'feminazis.' | /r/MensRights | 21/09/09 10:58 PM
UK fathers to be given 6 months paternity leaveAh, you've raised some excellent issues. My best answer, which is surely far from the best answer, is to ask you to (1) not view the baby as an object, but rather as a human being and (2) view this from the baby's perspective. As to (1), we can surely have a lively debate over whether or not it is right for a government to initiate programs which reward consumers for buying objects made in their home country (industry-building). Tax breaks for buying a home, protective tariffs, in-state tuition,… | /r/MensRights | 16/09/09 06:38 PM

UK fathers to be given 6 months paternity leave(1) It's a year total, six month for the father, six months for the mother. (2) They would be living off one less income for three months - meaning being a one-income family for three months. (3) I'm guessing you've never raised a kid? Or are you looking at this from a government bean-counter's perspective. And there's nothing forcing them to take the whole year. pause: did you even read the article? (4) Obviously your father had the "mainstream media" outlook on striking, because striking isn't… | /r/MensRights | 15/09/09 11:02 PM
