Some parents will never admit their kid is in the wrong, even when it’s obvious. At this point the mom probably won’t change her stance, so the best move is to protect yourself legally and emotionally instead of trying to get her on your side. The payments sting but over time it gets easier once you see it as the price of freedom. A lump sum is worth asking a lawyer about, but don’t let her live in your head. Man that’s rough. I’d stop hanging out with her like things are normal because that just makes it messier for you. Those temporary orders are serious so you really need some legal help, even if it’s just legal aid or a free clinic. Keep everything calm and focused on your son, don’t miss your time with him, and start figuring out your housing now so you’re not stuck later. You’re not crazy for wanting it to be amicable, but protect yourself first.

You’re not crazy at all, man, this situation sounds overwhelming and honestly your ex is moving way too fast in a way that’s bound to confuse the kids. It’s totally normal to feel stressed and protective, especially when your kids are crying and clearly not comfortable.
