I think it depends on the extent of what needs to be done at home. I've been a SAHM since my oldest was born 18 years ago. I have 3 children (whom I homeschool), and we have a homestead (I grow & preserve almost all of our food for our family), I also make everything from scratch (including things like our soap, homemade cleaners etc).
