Kind if reminds me of the hoards of "you must be 6' or taller to ride this ride" tinder folks. Only like 15% of guys are that tall and you better believe that number dives when you also filter out the ones that aren't attractive, hygienic, stable, and have good jobs and social skills. 9/10 of the people with that standard aren't bringing enough to the table to attract someone at that level, and that mindset is only going to hurt them.

We had a dramatic and bad breakup, and then had to see each other every day until one of us eventually got a new job. It's like a regular bad breakup, except you have to share the same office every day. That's why I think it can be ill-advised. I just think you should be aware of what you're getting into. It's not a hard rule by any means, and people meeting at work is extremely common, so maybe go for it.

Yeah, she shot me down when we were in high school and asked me out in our 20s because I spent the intervening years focusing on school, my job, my body and appearance, and my hobbies. It probably helped that I truly didn't care about getting with her for years and continue to not care to this day. This will get better over time. I used to almost physically shiver when I was super nervous with a girl I liked. As I got more comfortable with women and more experienced, it just went away. I think when I first started dating someone I just became super comfortable around her and it never happened again, with her or new girls. Now I'm cured.

I totally agree, my point was just that I think a lot of guys give up on their looks because they didn't win the genetic lottery, and they don't even try to make an effort with their appearance. I absolutely agree. How you present yourself says a lot about how you approach life.
