All powers not explicitly granted to the federal government by the Constitution are reserved to the States or the People. The Constitution is silent on abortion, so it has NO say in the matter. If pro-abortion folks want the right to abortion to be protected by the Constitution, there is a codified process for doing so. The People of our Republic have done so many times.

Keeping abortion legal grands a person the right to chose to dismember another person's body. A woman as every right to chose what occurs with HER body. The body of a child she is carrying is NOT her body.

You The Man. You dusted off and nuke'd her from orbit. If one swears an oath, they bloody damn well stay true to that oath. If they ain't happy, bail and end the oath of fidelity before getting with another. Well played Good Sir, well played. /condolences on the pain, it sucks.

Initiation of the use of force (pushing, slapping, punching, etc..) outside of mutually agreed on rules of play is wrong. No matter who initiates. Reasonable folks discuss and settle, or agree to walk away, differences with words.

Nope. ALL our senses are important, be they to the day to day activities or ability derive pleasure and connectedness with another person. Think about how it would be if you had to wear thick gloves on your hands every moment of your life. Never to feel the cool of the grass on a spring morning, or the warmth of your lovers skin at night. Just the sensation of a dull pressure. Some folks who are blind can determine shape and position (maybe material) from the reflected sound waves, but never the…

I'm circumcised and while I'm not happy about it, I'm also not angry about it. I understand it was the norm for the era I was born. I sometimes wonder what sensations I've missed in my sexual life. I'm am irritated that someone else chose to negate one of the most sensitive parts of my body, an act on par with blinding me as a newborn or cutting my auditory nerves. I suppose its a good thing that I'll likely never have children (I don't really have the patience for them, no drive to pass on my s…

We both had fun and learned how craft a reasonable argument. Per the judges (other students) I 'won' the debate based on equal treatment of the sexes. Her eyes were opened about how some folk can see the over use of makeup as false advertising. Some topics were silly, some serious since all were submitted by the class. Because despite all the marketing propaganda behind makeup, women are not required to use it. True. I personally have a preference for minimal makeup if any for day to day life. B…

Possibly a debate class? Hone one's skill at presenting solidly reasoned argument, even on a topic you don't support. Had one in college, drawing topic at random. The topic I drew was requiring males to wear make up, pro argument side. My debate opponent was one of the more girly girls in the class, against argument side.

Damn shame you had to go through that crap. I know I dodged a huge bullet when the single marriage I was in disintegrated in less than 18 months. Fortunately there were few assets to split since we were both new college grads just starting out. A few more years later and it would have been a huge mess since by then I had stock options mature and had bought a house and I know she would have convinced me to give her kids. I sometimes think I should send her flowers and a thank you card for her bir…

I feel cheated as well, at least on an intellectual level since I've never known having a foreskin. The best comparison I can come up with is its like the difference between attending a concert with perfect hearing and attending the same concert while wearing ear plugs. The sensations are still pleasurable but much lacking in fine detail.

As others have noted, you sound fairly even handed. On chivalry: Although I admit I do appreciate it when my boyfriend carries a heavy bag or holds a door for me, I don't think he should feel obliged to do that against his will, and I certainly don't expect those gestures from from strangers (in fact, seeing as I'm young and able bodied, it makes me pretty uncomfortable). If I'm at the door and there is someone with in a few feet, I'll hold the door no matter the gender. Its just being polite. I…

The person is the mind, the vessel the mind happens to reside in irrelevant. One of the conditions that determines if a person is living or dead is the irreversible cessation of all brain activity. It makes sense to me that we use that same marker for the beginning of a person's life. Prior to the start of brain activity, its just a clump of cells. After the brain fires up, abortion as act of violence against another person.

LOL Hold habits die hard. I no longer work in a chemistry related field, but still think in vernacular of physical sciences. Au, Fe, meters, liters, namometers & kilodaltons.

Have some Au. That is the only view on abortion that makes sense to me. No brain function, no person. Any modification that is not medically necessary (which circumcision is not) should only be done when the recipient is able to give informed consent. Treat it like we do getting tattoos. And none of that "parental consent for the child" crap.

I don't see a lot of women in IT, and in the brief interactions I've had with the Engineering world its has been mostly men in that field. On at least one branch of the Sciences (Biobased) male to female members has been about 50/50, in both research and application areas.

"Textile phallus" LOL I need to remember that one. I HATE ties, having long considered them to a leash around one's neck as well as being an outdated fashion item. Nothing really offensive here, unless the casting of sensitive man as having a baby strapped to his chest.

Truth is we ALL prostitute ourselves in some fashion for $$$. Looks/genitals/brains/brawn, sometimes combination thereof. Which is one reason I get so irked when former porn starts like Gauge or Bree Olsen are judged in the non-sex work world for the jobs they did when younger. Its job. That job brings pleasure to millions of consumers and if the performers are smart a few years of work can set them up with a nice next egg. And if the performers actually enjoy what they do and get their rocks of…

Quoted for truth. My sister is BPD and after years of putting up with her crap I cut her out of my life seven years ago. I've spoken to her twice, both times concerning our mother being in the hospital due to the stress my sister puts on her.

How about we change the draft so that instead of sending the young off to boot camp and war, we send the old fucks to boot camp and war. Let the "rich" and powerful who call for and start the damn wars fight in them. So say I, one of the "rich" old fucks who is sick and tired of generations of youth dying in usually stupid wars.

This incident is not about race, nor is it about gender. Its about privilege and power. Cute white girl gets special treatment because her daddy is part of the LEO class. Compare this to the treatment Rachel Hoffman got when SHE was arrested on much the same circumstances.

IIRC, its about 50/50 for gender vs violence. Anecdotal: I've watched acquaintances beat on their girlfriends because he thought she cheated on him while he was in lockup for statutory rape of another girl. About six months later a friend broke her boyfriend's arm when he blocked the heavy stature she was aiming to bash his head in with because she thought he was cheating on her (he was not) while she banged her roommates boyfriend. Tendency toward violence plays no gender favorites.

"If they get the job done quickly, they could leave early or come in later, they say. " How does that work exactly? Everyplace I've worked in my life, if a task gets done quickly, the reward is just additional work.

IMAO the same criteria that applies for the end of life should apply to the beginning of life. That being brain activity. Prior to that point, abortion is no more murder than chopping off one's finger. Past that, all the laws that apply to the accidental or intentional killing of another person should be applicable.

Social isolation is a very real problem for men in long term relationships or marriage. It is also an issue with single men who are by nature not overly gregarious. Such men enjoy the company of others most of the time, but need their time alone to relax and recharge. Increasing stress from work & family can lead these individuals to seek out their "alone time" as frequently as possible in order to cope with the sometime unrelenting burden of ever increasing demands from work, family and all the…

Just how in the hell would you know what 'feels like normal' feels like if you've had your foreskin cut off? Sure, if I'd lost ability to hear the upper frequence of sound as child, the muted and muffled tones I now hear in one ear would be "normal". But they ain't. It is a loss that I notice each day and sorely miss. Skin the kid for 'cleanliness' reasons. Better yank out all his teeth while your at it. Better hygine w/out all those teeth don't you know. Why waste time teaching the kid how to k…
