There's a lot of projection in the discourse and rhetoric surrounding gender-based issues these days. For some reason, the loud voices in the feminist movement, the bellwethers if you will, have decided that there is a finite amount of human decency and human rights to go around and concluded that they needed to control and monopolize them.

The issue I have with MGTOW as a movement is that they don't actually go their own way. They still center their lives on women, but rather than centering their lives around wooing them, they center their lives around hating them, at least online. If I saw more MGTOW communities that talked mostly about self-improvement and self-discovery, I'd be less standoffish toward the movement. For me, I am not anti-feminist, I am anti-feminism. Similar to how I don't hate the rank-and-file Jehovah's Witnesses or the rank-and-file Scientologists, the ones who were sold a lie, I don't hate the people who genuinely believe the movement they've joined is a movement for good and who can't see the contradictions in the positions they hold. I hate the movement that coerces them into being there and holds them hostage with various vague threats of what happens to apostates.

I agree with the subtext that "manchild" as a term has come to be used as a weapon against men's hobbies and self-improvement, but I reject the concept that the term manchild has no place. Take for example, Jim Cramer, who during a twitter beef where he was weathering insults because he shilled for hedge funds, brought his mother into the conversation to try and bait insults, threatened to dox people who called him mean names on twitter, and just overall threw a temper tantrum repeatedly.

A couple years ago, I came across this CMV post and the comment linked resonated with me incredibly strongly. While it is nice to see that the OP was similarly moved, it would have been a comment worth saving either way. Those charges are similar to how the FBI got Al Capone on tax evasion. Similar to his situation, those were the only charges the investigators knew for sure would stick. I think it's disingenuous to claim that anything else is happening.
