it doesn't really work that way. The visa is 30 days and then you get into a sliding scale of charges for overstays. That sliding scale goes up to about five years and it's still only a couple of hundred bucks a year. If you stay five years too long then when you leave they might not let you back in, but pay $1000 and you're on your way to do the same thing in Brazil. You can live well on $1500, like really well. You can have a great apartment by the beach, a girl round every week and not skimping at all. $350-$500 is the range for apartments really.
