So different foods have different effects on the body right? Well doesn't this mean that if I eat at caloric neutral I will have different outcomes depending on what I eat. Couldn't it then be reasoned that depending on my goals, one food is better than the other? And as far as I have understood the research, it is possible to lose fat while eating calorically neutral. So with calorie intake staying the same is it then incorrect to say that changing eating habits will lead towards the desired go…

What I'm trying to tell you is that calories are a useless measurement for food that aimed to determine the nutritional value. 1000 kcal of broccoli and 1000 kcal of soda do different things in your body. And what happens with them in your body is the only thing that counts. It doesn't matter how much water can be heated with it in a certain amount of time. There is only nutrition. Calories and nutrition are not two sides to the coin. The scientific use of calories was discontinued in the fiftie…

Yea, no, it's the other way around. We have been consuming grains (high amounts of carbs) for ten thousand years. We were hunters and gatherers for at least a hundred thousand.

Yes, it's just chemicals. That's the point. Don't you think what you consume after you've had enough soylent matters? Could you just eat the same amount of fat instead of bread to get your calories and expect no difference? No. Different biochemical reactions would take place and your results would be much different.

But if your body needs all the different macros in certain amounts, then consuming only one type would not be healthy, even though you might have consumed enough of it to meet your caloric needs. Nutrition and calories aren't two sides to the coin. There is only nutrition. Calories are simply a laboratory measurement. Your body doesn't measure calories. It uses a calorie of fat in a very different way from the way it uses a calorie of sugar. Hence "calories in calories out" is false.

Because it's not about what "makes sense", but what is actually true. And completely disregarding that a calorie of fat and a calorie of sugar cause totally different reactions in the body, while also stating that the ratio of macro nutrients is actually important, is a glaring contradiction and a massive oversimplification at the same time.

It's Muskelkater in German, which basically translates to muscle hangover. I find that very fitting.

This is not uncommon in Germany.

Until I saw this comment, I was actually convinced he had a headset with a microphone. And that, let's be honest, would be a little douchey in the gym.

But Mike Pence? Please. Trump is now basically unelectable for moderates. Even Sarah Palin would have been a better VP pick.

There's no need for exploding heads. Only more feminist drivel. Most would simply argue that any behavioral differences are due to upbringing and social conditioning into traditional gender roles, which is of course dictated by the patriarchy.

Oh I agree. I've done stuff like that many a time. And right now buddy of mine is getting together with a chick that exhibits all the red flags imaginable (diagnosed BPD, hangs with other dudes and so on). Says he wants to marry her. I can see what's coming from a mile away like a freight train at night. I try to give advice but he's going to ignore most of it. He'll learn one day hopefully.

Yeah, respect for the formatting effort and near flawless grammar, even if it was basically written in meme language. I ain't even mad. That was amazing.

It's PUA lingo. Since a PUA's target was almost always the hottest chick, HB does stand for hot babe. Others would be considered gatekeepers, chaperones or grenades that a wingman would have to jump on.

Sure. What i also find interesting is that two of the rapists are very beta or at least not good looking. And in the case where it could be argued that he is (guy in the bathroom), he rapes a girl that's probably a lesbian. Point being, that in all three cases the girls would never really be attracted to their rapists. Otherwise it might actually play into a woman's fantasy.

The thing is that she already marked him as beta or at least as unworty. If she really is into him and he leaves, she might regret her massive shit test. If she isn't into him, nothing was lost. An accusation of sexual harassment shouldn't ever be used as a shit test. I'd say, not leaving gives the whole thing legitimacy as a tool in the SMP. I guess it depends on the context if you should next her or not. But in the 50ties you could slap your secretary's ass without repercussion. I'd call that …

Naw dude, there are several white men in the last scene.

Yea that could work. But this whole knee thing seems like a huge power play. Not only did she apparently admit that it would be tolerated coming from another guy, and is therefore not that into him, no, she is actually trying to shame him into submissiveness for his advances. Leaving seems appropriate.

Yup. Religious right wing actually, but that probably goes hand in hand anyway . Some of their videos are down right nonsense that tries to promote the Christian belief.

The hamstering might be going something like this: Women can't be sexist. And by the way they're just expressing their preferences and sexuality in a 50's era fashion. Something something strong women can choose to be submissive.

Yup, i would feel that evopsych aspect even as the dude in this story. Not being able to prevent something like this happening to your woman (even if it really is out of your control) just puts a huge dent in the protector role a man is supposed to play. I don't think that is something a relationship can recover from.

We are technically monkeys (Haplorhini) as well as Apes (Hominoidea). However, since "monkey" is a paraphyletic group it excludes humans and other apes for reasons not in line with taxonomy and is therefore not very scientific. I advocate either scrapping the term (which isn't going to happen) or including hominoid apes.

Yea that's messed up. But I was talking specifically about gun ownership and how it wasn't a factor before guns were invented. This means that a scrawny beta wouldn't have been able to seriously threaten an alpha that is defined by superior strength or size. Fat kids can be the alpha of a class because of body size.

Well it's important to note that the great equalizer, that is the firearm, wasn't around when these dynamics evolved. So back then the real alpha still wouldn't have had much to fear. Your point still stands though, since getting in a fight might still be a deterrent.

Sure, that makes sense. I just try to make sure that i'm not perpetuating outdated nutrition science like the war on fat and cholesterol. In my opinion that can lead to people who will adamantly defend their eating trash, since they are watching their calories. Granted, the science seems to be changing frequently and i keep saying that as far as nutrition science is concerned, we basically live in the dark ages. But that doesn't mean that there are not answers out there to be discovered and that…

You're oversimplifying. Your body doesn't measure calories. And certain foods have a completely different effect on the body than others, in terms of how they are metabolized, even if their caloric value is the same. While it is possible to regulate weight gain or loss by counting calories, this doesn't take into account the specific goals of the individual or account for health benefits or detriment.
