And so we've reached that circular point in the argument. I think you and many others should understand what it means to be sexist. That word along with racist, or misogynist is used lazily and recklessly. But anyway, I'm done. We aren't getting anywhere and you aren't actually debating my position. It feels as though I'm debating a politician afraid to wander from his talking points; and that may be a mischaracterization but it is how this has felt. No progress is being made. And I feel most of…

I said that I wouldn't reply but I can't help myself because there seems to be some drastic misunderstanding here. When have I ever not understood that there are other more complex factors that might in some cases influence male desire to pursue? Of course you can delve into what makes some men, maybe even most men to feel a need to be the pursuer. My point has never been that these other factors do not exist or are not relevant; only that on the subject of this video we are not waving away thos…

I disagree entirely but I think I can see that you've made up your mind on the explanatory power of this apparently objective and universal interconnectedness and interdependence; to me they are large words for simpler ideas that aren't unique to this issue, but have at it. I don't desire to unravel all of that. Didn't really intend to open up a long detailed discussion of the topic when I commented on Op's post. Anyway, I didn't ignore their words. I said they were essentially irrelevant; and I…

I wasn't promoting a methodology. I was attempting to undermine this prevailing idea that people should have their intentions determined by their words. A man says something nice, so he meant something nice. I think in most situations we would understand that, that is not necessarily the case; yet many have said, they are giving her compliments, is this what women are complaining about now? Which is a misrepresentation of what was happening to her there. Most of the animosity seems bred from ram…

Because it might wear on a person if this happens literally every time they walk anywhere or go anywhere, or ride the transit. It must wear on you and eventually you might get to such a point that you make hasty generalizations. But I don't believe someone like her would say all men are like that and I don't think most women think that way in practice. People are prone to make assumptions based on their experiences and if she experiences this treatment all the time or most of the time, we can at…

Are you from new York? Because I am, and as someone who knows or knew guys who did this I can say confidently that they are not saying hello to be nice and she knows it, they know it and most people know it. The fact that you don't get the connotation behind their calls leads me to believe you don't hang out with those kinds of people or aren't from those parts. I can understand her annoyance and her worry, especially had she been walking alone at night.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
