Don't masturbate for a week or two and see how you feel. The pent up testosterone is a great kick.

No one seems to have a concrete thought of what a wingman is. This, honestly, is the way to do it. Tell your friend he's got it in him to the point where he'll actually attempt, and make sure he does it without a hitch. If he doesn't get instapoon congratulate him on putting himself out there and whatever he managed to do.

What's that song about, anyways?

Something that actually explains the psychological reasons behind rejection and its effects. Worth a read if you want to know more about why we fear pickup. The key point that can be implied from this report is only the first rejection hurts. After that, everything you experience will be smaller than what you first felt. Fight through your failure and you will succeed.

The thing about quotes is that it's hard for us to resonate with them if we did not "discover" them on our own. Reading can only help to a certain extend, real life experiences is what makes the message stick. Regardless, excellent quote. It pushes the message that going for something will always better than not.

Not "maybe". It won't go anywhere unless you make it a friendship.

That seems to the plot, but I you're partially wrong in what determines Dante's life. During the phone call at the beginning of the movie, he did not effectively resist and went into work. The guy is pushover that doesn't know how to stick out for himself.

I respect both views of the topic, but it honestly does not matter which you decide on. Both have their nuances, but at the end of the day it depends on whether you've grown from that outing, solo or otherwise.

Be chill. Spend time in a open center (living room!) and casually invite any passerbys to any plans you may have. It just needs to happen once, everything escalates from there.

Immerse yourself. Keep on attending things you actually enjoy (don't go wine tasting if you despise wine). Over time, your knowledge in those fields will grow as well as your general knowledge, making you a more interesting person as a result. It isn't about being "sophisticated", but becoming knowledgeable in fields people consider elevated to the point where you subtly and unintentionally convey a feeling of sophisticated, or to better phrase it, high value.

Go back to that Target as you usually would without specific intention of meeting her. If you two are within speaking distance (with her stocking shelves, for instance) then still chat her us as if you're old friends. Believe it, it won't be creepy if you are confident and act completely to the previous event. To get all the bad air out, bring up that you asked her out badly in a joke. That way, every pre-established "must-avoid" event is gone. Just don't try too hard acting her out.

Skinny (or slim if you're insecure) pants always along with a slim fitting shirt. Types of clothing, colors, details are all secondary. Fit is important.

Why are there always people who want to go against the ideas presented in these posts? Many people here have opinions easily swayed by the wind, don't imply something detrimental to their progress.

Excellent advice. It hits the most important point concerning any social interaction: without respect for one's self, respect cannot be obtained in total from another.

In all honesty this is the best post I've seen here. It gives a master and teacher viewpoint that displays many crucial lessons: approaching won't kill you (outcome independence), AA is the only limiting factor, that anything previously detrimental is merely AA . . . And all told from contrasting views. Definitely a quality post.

In a situation where you'd have to push people aside or get through a crowd of people, where "sorry" is thrown out to each passer-by.

The United States may not necessarily be behind Japan in cultural ways. Japan's population pyramid is structured much different than the United States is. Although the baby boomer generation post-WWII affected our population, Japan traditionally takes care of their elders and hold reproduction (more accurately, sex) much more sacredly than Americans typically do. Although it's possible to shift into what Japan does, I doubt it'll happen. American culture is much different than Japan, and customs…
