I think you're on point about the commercial aspect, but just to play devil's advocate, isn't this: At the end of the day, only a weak and insecure gender would need to constantly assert itself as equal all the damn time a form of kafkatrapping? ie. The fact that you deny being X is evidence in and of itself that you are X. You're saying the fact that women deny being weak and insecure is evidence that they are, in fact, weak and insecure, which is fallacious reasoning.

If you're implying that such things don't happen, you're wrong. I remember a very similar incident caught on video. Two black women just shoplifted, and an employee or the owner runs out and tries to stop them. They had a kid(s) with them, and a bunch of white nights ran in and started beating the guy.

Is this at all mitigated by the time elapsed since men/women have been able to become GMs? Like, if it has been possible for men to become GMs for 300 years, but women have only been able to compete for that title for 20 years, then you would expect there to be a lot more male GMs. Do you have any info on this? Yea, I know nothing about professional chess.
