But again, this is not a good advice. This is an easy advice but not a good one. I don't drink. I had trouble with social situations before, but now I don't and I've still never drank a drop of alcohol.

Honestly, this is not a very good advice. If someone doesn't drink, there's often a reason behind that and saying "make an exception for social events" doesn't help much. Especially when you add "no one likes the sober dude when everyone else is loaded." It's called social pressure and is one of the source of social anxiety.
