This is a great post! And the give side is super important. I’m sure my ex felt fondness and attraction, but he was incapable of any of the things on the give side

It sounds like he had a full on eating disorder… I’m sorry you had to put up with that :( I was unbearable before I recovered, doing similar things like your ex and hurting those around me. One time I screamed at my siblings for eating my „special healthy bread” 💀 I never justified shitty behaviour with my eating disorder though (like cheating,tf???? How does that make sense), and the fact that he did that just proves he was a narcissist and NVM, and on top of that happened to have an eating dis…

The mancave being in between those trash cans 😭😭😭😭 jokes aside, poor Tammy… my heart goes out to her. I hope she found the strength to leave him. She seems like a wonderful person, seeing her cry broke my heart :(((

What a lucky girl to have an aunt like you!!! And I agree, ponies are truly the devil’s spawn 💀 what about some smaller sized quarter horses? I’ve seen some tiny ones 🐕

Hey, it sounds like you have found what touches your soul, I’m very happy for you! It is the exact same with me. The thing with horses is, it is not (despite what many believe) a thing you HAVE to start early. It’s not Ballet for gods sake! My NVX’s mum was a very accomplished horse woman (owned her own stables and won national-level western style riding competitions). She started riding when she was over 40 (!!!!!), after a lifelong career in sales. What I’m trying to say is, it’s never too lat…

What do you mean with fetishisation? Also - yes, there are people with weak boundaries in every discipline of life (even therapists lol). I just find women who handle horses to be generally more aware of the importance of having boundaries!

There was a great post on here a while ago, about the myth of the “heroic man” - the fact that we’ve all been socialised to believe that men will put our safety first in case of an emergency, or even save us 🙄 the opposite is true, sadly

I had that feeling too! I was so anxious about trying again. But overcoming that anxiety was also part of the process to become more confident! I hope you find a way to incorporate horses in your life again 🤞🤞🤞

👏👏 I have no experience with dogs, and this approach does not really work with cats (the only pets I had before horses), but I’ve been reading a lot about dog behavior too, and I definitely see the similarities with horsemanship! I’m happy you’re finding your work with your dog rewarding 🥰
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy19/10/21 02:35 AM
11

I’m so sorry about your bad experience :( I have had some bad experiences (like there will be in any sport), but not nearly as bad as you’re describing. I’ve worked in a horse sanctuary for a while - it has nothing to do with riding, just taking care of the horses and being in their company. Maybe you could look into that? After all it’s the horses that make horsemanship so wonderful, powerful horse women are just a bonus ❤️

Horses are pets. I am not necessarily talking about riding them - that’s why the title is “handling” horses, and that’s why I mention liberty work. Is keeping a dog also animal exploitation? I have also never generalised, only shared my experience of my change of character as well as my experience of the equestrian environment.

Great addition to my post, you are much more experienced than I am! It's crazy how horses can sense the smallest amount of anxiety/lack of confidence! And thank you for adding the safety info - of course ALWAYS wear a helmet and be wary of barn drama :D

All my childhood 🙄 hanging out with my childhood best friend, his mum telling me to „watch him and let her know if he does something bad”, having to cut out stuff for guys who never learned to use scissors in grade one, having to teach a guy how to weave in arts & crafts in 2nd grade, babysitting the „ADHD” guy (he really just had behavioural problems), having to explain to a guy why following girls around is not ok in 3rd grade (yes, the teacher made me do it based on the fact I was class presi…

My ex was just like that… I didn’t know about it either, turns out he met his girl best friend on tinder, slept with her, caught feelings and got rejected. I found out half a year into the relationship. The girl he studied with after lectures was also a tinder “friend” (found out a year into the relationship), his Uni bestie was also from tinder. It still hurts when I think about how much heartbreak that caused me.

It’s also very telling what men say about LVM. I’ve met a pretty HV man recently (still vetting of course), and whenever he encounters some LV behaviour, he points it out with a comment like “what a bum” (about not dressing nicely for dates for example). Or he just ignores them.

It’s always icky for me to read those kind of statements. We’re talking about ADULTS who live in the same reality as us, if they wanted to, they would see what’s going on. It’s not our responsibility to tell them.

I kept thinking about this post all day. It reminded me of when my ex told me about superliking a 40-year old mom on tinder. She was very attractive and she had a teen daughter, she had pictures of them together on her profile. My ex genuinely said to me that he super liked “because if it doesn’t work out with her, he can always have the daughter”. He could not come up with an answer when I asked him if he doesn’t see anything wrong with that.

I have said it to my current boyfriend just yesterday. We met 5 months ago. I don’t wait for the man to say it first! But if he does and I’m not there yet, I do not feel bad about not saying it back. My rules are: - wait at least three months to say it - only say it when you really really can’t hold it anymore Obviously this is when I am absolutely sure of his commitment and my feelings. Oh, and even though I don’t expect him to say it first, I DO expect him to ask me out & ask me to be his girl…

I’m sorry to tell you, but it’s a terrible, terrible idea :( let go and focus on your studies. I was in a 2 year long distance relationship and it was emotionally draining, exhausting, and so bad for my mental health. Long distance will never be worth it; it will always hurt your feelings even if you’re with the right person

Recently I went to my scholarship organization’s gala. I was asked by a 17 year old „intellectual” boy if I was a „Yes, all men” type of feminist. I said yes, saw him taking a breath to start arguing with me, and walked away. I would have gladly explained what I mean by that - yes, all men benefit from the system, even if they don’t actively hate women and are „decent”. By not changing it, they are supporting it. But all I got was this absolute hostility, he was so ready to talk over me. I do no…

Ever since joining FDS I have made the change to not talking badly about women, especially im context of a man. For example, when I was jealous over a man, I used to find myself subtly insulting „the other woman” in my head or out loud to my friends. Or when my friends were hurt by a guy liking someone else, I would cheer them up by saying that she is better than the other woman. Now I never comment on women’s appearances, only to compliment. I cannot imagine how I could say such things. I have …

„Terrorism is not considered as motive for the shooting”. What else is it? What would they call the world wide attacks on women to “show them their place” and get revenge? At this point I feel like it’s more than a hate crime.

Was in a long distance relationship up until recently. We lasted 1.5 years and I feel like much of that time was put on hold because of how focused I was on his calls, his attention and affection. We would meet every 2.5 months or so for around 1 month and then also spend the summer together. The thing is, when you spend more than half of your time longing for someone’s attention, it doesn’t go away after you meet them. It becomes a habit and you end up feeling incomplete without them, even when…

I’m sorry to disappoint you, but their profile is sadly not FDS in general, there’s a lot of pickme stuff and casual sex culture on there! How normal are doubts in a relationship? I am with my boyfriend of 1,5 years and sometimes I get a bad feeling or remember something he did I didn’t like, but let it slide (before I found FDS). Usually everything is okay, but should I even be in a relationship where I am not sure? This is my first bf btw, hence I have no experience at all

Completely healthy IMO! If he hasn’t given you reasons to doubt his honesty before, I wouldn’t worry about it. I personally prefer sleeping alone and I NEED a room to myself, even if I live with someone I love. Especially with the breathing issues and different sleeping habits on top of that I think this is not a red flag and he is being reasonable and caring for both of your wellbeing :)
