What happened is that boys had more better opportunities than girls, more attention than girls etc etc. Then, feminism came and granted the same opportunities and resources to girls that boys had. After this, girls performed and still perform better than boys in school because of a developmental advantage they have always had, but was covered up by the unfair education system of old.
