It was pretty wild and very difficult. Pretty much history majors exclusively in the class. Main book was blood and soil by Ben Kiernan (basically a brick) if you’re interested

This reminds me of a girl in my genocide history course that raised her hand just to let the class know how morally superior she was by saying “well I wouldn’t have participated in the Khmer Rouge” and began screaming at the very funny student who responded “they wouldn’t have asked you, they would have been bayoneting you”

“As seen in Hanson v. Superior Court, states may define direct contempt of court as an act of contempt committed knowingly in the immediate view and presence of the court. Failure to appear in compliance with a summons may be direct contempt of court. Under Rule 37 of the FRCP, a deponent's failure to answer can also be treated as contempt of court. Direct contempt of court is punishable without trial. An indirect contempt of court is any contempt that does not fall within direct contempt. Failu…

Yeah that definitely sounds like the claim I made and not a strawman… and apparently I’m the only adult in the United States that the irs forgot about (lucky me)

Yeah that seems like a good precedent to set for law enforcement to jail someone. Give them a reality check for being a dick by arresting and detaining them. I’m sure that this perspective on judicial governance won’t be abused by anyone and only the mean bad people that we disagree with will be affected. I love randomly deciding who needs to learn a punitive lesson based on how their words made me feel in that moment and not based on the laws of the land

The point is that someone was put in jail and detained by law enforcement for laughing at another persons trauma. Something very much not illegal. You know you can be a racist without going to jail too right?

Wait so it’s illegal for me to say I find it hilarious your family members are dead? Sounds like being mean is a criminal offense then

To put people in jail for being a dick instead of just ejection from the courtroom? Yeah can’t wait for my taxes to be used for that instead of prison reform

Wait so you get fined for being mean but you don’t get fined for getting paint on someone else’s property?

Pretty simple, when you hit someone first you have decided the person’s (whom you just hit) weight class doesn’t matter and you’re taking them on. Weight classes are for two consenting adults wtf are you talking about?

I think it’s fine to kill someone trying to kill you and it’s weird it needs to be said aloud

It’s like people forgot what the actual point of the colloquialism “when in rome do as the Roman’s do.” is. They aren’t talking about eating utensils…

Destroys? This looks like when someone thinks they won an argument on Twitter by pointing out “that’s mean”. It would have been “destroyed” by saying anything remotely witty or funny in response

Yeah it’s what happens when you go on Reddit and see that 15 year olds have inherited the platform. Just go on antiwork sometime and be baffled at people who genuinely don’t understand where food comes from. You’re only reading the opinions of people with literally half their brain developed at best, or an adult with opinions indistinguishable from that of a high school sophomore at worst

Guys shes in the entertainment industry with a focus on how she looks. Just because she’s bigger doesn’t mean she isn’t as delusional and narcissistic as the skinny models

It’s weird to see the culturally open groups (such as what was the lgbtq community) slowly morph into pearl clutching moralists. Like, didn’t we already go through our societal phase of being aghast at swear words? Feels like the torch being handed from uptight old churchgoers to the next generation

The dude on the couch has the right idea. Pretend to wake up slowly like you don’t know how the hell you got there. Like when your friend would get in trouble with their parents at a sleep over

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
